Renown for it's penetrating mists, Kirigakure has all ways had a natural occurring ever present mist covering the majority of the island nation, the only area being exempt from this rule of thumb being the main village of Kirigakure itself. However, due to the rising of the water level of Kiri's oceans, and a new found torrential rain fall, some of the smaller islands and coves have become reduced to swampland. However, the islands remaining are known for their peaceful forests and bamboo groves where the Kaguya clan saw it's birth. Among the larger islands exist some farms and even a small village or too.

Feral Plains
Among some of Kirigakure's islands, there exists land perfect for farming. These islands are typically dotted with small farming communities, growing rice, wheat, and other crops. The plains however are famous for other things as well, for there prowls many creatures on these plains, some tame, some not. One famous example, there lives several packs of wolves capable of swimming between islands that are not very keen to help humans, kept at bay by the farmers by primitive weapons. Other creatures exist. Most of the plains were used as battle fields in Kirigakure's earlier history, and thus are littered with the remnants of war, especially in the north, where bunkers are easy to spot and are even used by a wandering shinobi or two as temporary housing.

Kaguya Forest
The Kaguya Forest is a small set of islands in south east Kirigakure. On all of these islands, there exists a mysteriously growing and fire resistant strain of bamboo. Legend says that this is where the first Kaguya was birthed - and where it is said a wandering sect of hidden Kaguya still live today. Despite the myths, this location is known for its provable marvels. The bamboo is often used for building, and the region is renown for housing the best saunas and hot springs in the world, creating a very populated tourist attraction. Because of this, the native albino tigers that prowl the bamboo forests have either been almost completely snuffed out or domesticated.

Web of Amida
Due to the rising water level within the oceans, some of Kirigakure's more smaller islands have been reduced to swamp land. The Web of Amida is a dangerous and sinister place - it, once upon a time, was the graveyard for those slain in the Kekkei Genkai holocaust. While the most recent were Kaguya, one may find bones dating back to before the inception of Shinobi villages here. The swamp has a few tar pits - although that should be the least of your worries, should you tread here. Evil and dark creatures stir in the night, and even darker secrets. In the pitch dark of night, being eaten by a grue is not unheard of. It is said in the center of some of the larger swamps, a web like structure has been made out of the bones of the unluckier travelers, but who or what does this remains unknown.
