The ruins of the once mighty village. Beware what lurks inside.

Scrambling over and under the hail of debris Koga only evaded as he could be he lunged forward. Like a guillotine dropping slicing off a criminals head; a jagged slab of stone descended upon him. With his knees tucked to his chest and his free hand on the ground, Koga pushed off, sending his body tumbling forward. A cold chill crept on the soles of his feet as the guillotine severed the ground beneath him.

Back to the wall he spun around. With each piece of the celling that fell a ray of moonlight took it's place. It was until the last stone dropped to the ground that he released his breathe. Scanning over the new terrain he peered through the clouds of smoke in hopes of spotting his opponents; preferably his remains. Unfortunately there was nothing, nothing that lead him to believe his opponent was squashed, no blood, no dismembered limbs, not even any cries of agony.

With the dust clearing and vision improving Koga did manage to spot one thing. Far in the distance stood a silhouette of a statue. A statue that was not previously there. Clenching his shoulder he could feel the gap between from which his should had been dislocated. Biting his lip, he inched forward off the wall, still weary of the stadiums structural integrity. It was only when the dust had finally settled that it dawned on him; That was no statue.

With a quick hop back and a dash to his right, he found himself hiding behind the very piece of stone which nearly took his life. Now placed between a rock and a hard place. It was clear as the night sky this match wasn't over.

But first he had to pop his shoulder back into place...

Standing tall somewhat near the center of the room, Kisuke scanned the room as the dust slowly cleared. Ahead of him, just barely to his left, he could see the silhouette of a man walking slowly towards him. So his opponent had survived... Interesting. The dust, as the seconds passed, cleared ever more improving Kisuke's sight - as well as his opponents - with each passing second. It was then that he could see more clearly: even though his opponent had survived, he hadn't made out without injury. It seemed as if his shoulder had been injured to some degree; but it was difficult to tell, considering not but a second after his vision improved to an acceptable level, his opponent dashed away and hid.

"There's no use in hiding..." Kisuke said as he began to advance upon the giant piece of stone he saw his opponent dart behind. "It's time to finish this!" His voice echoed lightly as he moved upon the rock, pulling his left fist back before throwing it powerfully into the stone. The force of the blow wasn't yet enough to completely shatter it, but a network of cracks did manage to make its way across the majority of the stone. A second quick punch by the right hand made the cracks larger before the stone crumbled apart.

As the rock broke down, Kisuke searched for his opponent; stepping forward through the remains and reaching out to grap for his foe. If he was going to end the fight, he'd have to get a hold of the man. Once he got a good grip on him - which would be even better if he truly was injured - he could go for a submission.

"Pop!"
Like the cap to a bottle a 'pop' accompanied the resonating pain that quaked from the base of his shoulder to the tip of his finger tips. Having used the slab of stone as a wall to literally force his should back into place by ruthlessly bang it into place repeatedly. Dark like an egg plant, his shoulder and much of his bicep were purple in color. Although his skin was tough, even it had become bruised, and his muscle sore. Caution would be necessary.

Turning his back to the stone he took a few deep breathes,"He did- n't... didn't see me?E" struggling to think he slowly clenched his fist, stretching the muscle within his arm. A moment passed as he exhaled, gathering his thoughts. Glancing over his shoulder and over the ridge he hoped to gain vision. Unfortunately he had been a tad too slow. Ducking back under cover his hands shot over his head as he hit the deck. The protective shield that warded him nearly shattering under the force of the attack.

With shards of stone raining down upon him Koga simply stayed still for a moment as the debris subsided. Sniffling, he scratched the bridge of his nose before rolling onto his back. A bad decision.

Just as he rolled over he felt a grip tighten around his mid-drift. A tight squeeze. Dropping down his eyes spotted a hand of stone fixed around him. Raising his head he looked at his foe face to face; or what he could see of it. "As if!" Raising both hands over his head he clasped his hands tightly together. Chakra coursing through his arms and his skin hardening to its extreme before both hands were to come crashing down upon the head of the stone clad opponent like a sledge hammer.

His hands cupped around his opponents waist, arms extended. He caught him! But that didn't mean the fight was over - not by a long shot. As if!" His opponent shouted before raising his hands into the air. It was an appropriate responce, and one of few Kisuke could have imagined himself. But he already had his own plan of action in mind. Following through, his body jolted forward, forcing he and his foe into a tight bear hug. His head tucked in closely to his opponents flank; just underneath his armpit, forcing a change in the destination of the descending hands. The sledgehammer-like attack smashed down upon Kisuke's upper back and it hurt like hell, but still he kept his squeeze.

The armor protected him from most of the pain, but he could definitely still feel it - although, he didn't show it at all. A shot of chakra as his back began to bend healed whatever cracks in his armor might have been born from the attack. His body followed through with the motion as his back bent. His arms lifted partially, causing the angle his back created to become more acute. And, after just a second or two it happened: Kisuke suplexed his foe, smashing him head first into the stoney ground beneath him.

Immdediately following, Kisuke rolled to his right and rose to his feet, looking down at his foe. He wasn't aiming to kill the man, but the force at which he dropped him could have broken a normal man's neck. But he was well aware: his foe was no normal man.
Retreating just a step or two, he watched his opponent closely. Would he rise again or stay down? Either way, he had to be sure he was prepared.

Ouch. Battered and bruised Koga lay still upon the ground. The shooting pain echoed throughout his body. His brain beat against the sides of his skull. Had he been anyone else he would have be knocked out at the least. The neck would have broken, the match would be over.

Rolling over Koga gripped the back of his neck. Blinking, his eyes viewed the world through a fog of confusion. Rising to his feet he slouched over. Using a shattered piece of one of the columns as a crutch he took a moment to collect his thoughts. Though he he'd been run through simulations like a lab rat, this was his first time experience a fight first hand. He couldn't help but think of the even more interesting battles to come.

Shaking it off he stepped towards his opponent one last time. Fist clenched tight he waited a brief second; starring the boy in the face before assuming a proper stance. Right hand clenched into a fist, he held it high. Left hand positioned slighting in front of his right, but with an open palm. Sliding his left foot across the ground he turned his body on his axis.\

[OOC: Sorry I'm late. I haven't even been able to touch a computer lately, and I knew this was the last post so... Yeah.]

Standing firmly in place, Kisuke watched his opponent slowly rise to his feet again; clearly shaken by the attack. In any other fight, his slow and shaken rise would have been excellent for a follow up attack; perhaps a striking blow to the face, but in this situation...that was it. Their allotted time was up, and the match was over. There was no clear winner by knockout, submission or forfeit which left the decision up to those who were in command of the tournament. He who would move on would be by their choosing.

As his opponent approached him and placed his hands before him, Kisuke allowed his Earthen armor to crack and fall away as his hands moved to a similar position. The chunks of Earth fell to the ground and crumbled away as Kisuke showed respect to his opponent. He'd learned a lot from the fight, and with the absence of blood lust, he'd actually managed to enjoy the battle. His goal was to learn from those he battled, and increase his own skill through what he learned. And, although this was just his first fight - and perhaps his last - he still learned a few things.

They broke it. They broke an entire room. It was the first time it had happened in tournament history, especially since most competitors were a little cautious of damaging the property of their hosts, but it seemed that neither of those two had even a bit of that courtesy. Still it was a good match, and though there was no clear winner, their fates would be decided on the realms of strategy, skill, and most important of all, the effectiveness of their attack. Even though it seemed like there was nobody to watch the match, in fact many people had been watching. Within the wreckage of the walls lay a few gems, all linked to the technique of a single ninja, and relayed to viewing rooms all around the temple. Competitors that had lost but survived watched, winners watched, and the Lin Kuei themselves watched, and so when a single ninja came from the shadows, it was no surprise to anyone but the two ninja that their match had been watched.

"Congratulations on both of you surviving your match. Though no clear victory was had, our judges have determined that....."

Even those watching were silent, waiting for the result, heartbeats racing, and their own personal choices ready to be contested or celebrated.

"Kisuke Ukitake is the winner".

In the common rooms an uproar of cheers and jeers filled the air. People had bet on this fight, just like many others, and their drunken battered brains sought only to congratulate each other, or to turn in disappointment. Still, this was not the end of the tournament, and now new bets were being placed, and behind the scenes, an arena was being prepped for the inevitable final round.
