A new beginning...again.

The ruins of the once mighty village. Beware what lurks inside.

A new beginning...again.

In his throne room the grandmaster sat anxiously, awaiting his recently returned ninjas report. The doors at the front of his throne-room opened up quickly, and two ninja walked in quickly, looking ragged and beaten down. Their faces were covered with blood, and one was also heavily bandaged at the shoulder, hiding the fact that he was missing an arm. As they briskly moved to the steps the less damaged of the ninja spoke, his breath ragged and excited.

"The fortress was heavily guarded, and they had hired ninja to fight for them, but they weren't from any of the villages. They bore an insignia of a red scorpion on their equipment and clothes, and strangely enough, their robes looked very similar to ours. Between them and the citadel's regular defenses most of our squads were wiped out. We are the only survivors out of the two squads you sent.... but, We completed our mission."

The ninja bowed his head and waited for a reply from the man sitting in the chair.

" It seems I had underestimated the Koban Clan and more so the climate of this area. There were rumors of other ninja clans out here, but it looks like one has finally reared its head. It seems time that we truly make ourselves know, however I may need some help on this one... Bring me Tundra and Chameleon"

Both ninja rose and began to move off, however the one with the injuries was slow to get up, and seemed to be in a lot of pain.

"You, You stay here, I have a separate task for you."

As he approached, something was whispered to him, and the wounded ninja scurried off.

A new beginning...again.

It was time for another tournament, but this one would be different than the last. To put the Lin Kuei on the map they would have to show their power. They could not be the hosts this time, but instead, they would have to be participants. dominating participants. They needed to top all of the rival clans around, and they needed to do it to the point that no one could tell them any different. There was one such tournament around, where fighters from all over the world came to test themselves, but one hadn't been had in ages, its host mysteriously vanishing. Lucky for the Lin Kuei, they had a master of disguise among them who would be assuming that persons mantle to recreate this tournament, and to show the skill and mastery of the Lin Kuei.

The doors opened up as a Lin Kuei Ninja clad in Blue, and one clad in black entered the room. They both quickly knelt at the base of the steps as the grandmaster addressed them.

"Chameleon, you are to assume the role of host for an upcoming tournament. you will be impersonating a famous shinobi by the name of Sorotodai Tomoushii. He is a very well known person in many regions and has a great influence on many people. in the past he has played host to a great tournament, one that we will be using to spread the fame of the Lin Kuei.

Tundra, you along with a few others will be participating in the tournament, however it is your duty to win. If you encounter other members of the Lin Kuei in your match ups, it will be your job to defeat them, but be warned, by using this particular tournament, many fighters may be showing up, many with talents that could exceed even your own."

Both ninja nodded in understanding before getting up and walking out just as quickly as they had entered. Any information they needed would be brought to them as they prepared to undertake the mission that would surely change something in the world.

The boat ride for Chameleon would be long and arduous, yet in the time that he traveled, he would go around the world, spreading news of the upcoming tournament. While many people would simply pass this over as more of the same, or a cliche thing with a simple prize, many would still come, the lure of money, fame, and a chance to test themselves enough to draw them in. Coupled with his disguise, many great fighters would be joining in just at the chance of reuniting with old friends, or old rivals. His was the easy job, he simply had to sell something that was already in demand.

Hozukimaru, or rather Tundra, his job was much harder. he had to do his best to win the tournament, knowing very well that there were many fighters out there stronger than him. Another nail in that coffin was that he had indeed participated in this tournament before, long long ago, and had been beatensoundly in the first rounds. It was embarassing to say the least, and he knew that he would have to be on his A-game, literally. He would be competing against both B rank and A-rank ninja, where the chance of losing, and death, was very real. Realizing the severity of this, he decided to take his time to train. He had a few months to get ready, so he could think of no better way to prepare.

He had been trying to find a reason to leave the area for a while, and this was a perfect opportunity. he was sure he could convince the grandmaster to let him leave, especially with the information he had learned on his last mission. He had learned that he was not alone, that there were other people who could manipulate ice the way he could. it was only smart for him to try and find them so that he could get better. he might even be able o find more of a lead to who he really was.

He had packed his bags, and he had gotten permission to leave, and now it was time for him to make the journey to the port. It was only a few miles from their hidden complex, but the journey was treacherous for those who didint know the right path. He did however, and the whole walk he could only think about what lay ahead. He had always wanted to visit the snow country, ever since he had heard of it, and when he had found out that they had a shinobi village, his excitement grew triple. He knew they might just be more people like him, since all the ones in Kiri had been wiped out long ago.

arriving in the outskirts of what he knew to be a kirigakure port, he was graced to see destruction everywhere. He instantly remembered the tragedy that had destroyed it before and couldn't help but to feel saddened. Still, these marks were new, and he could tell that the people were doing horribly.

It looked just like the day he had come back, rubble everywhere, scorch marks, blades, dried blood, and the smell of death and decay. Again, he just shook his head. Even though it was his proffesion to fight and even possibly to kill, this was not what he did.

About a block away two boys, no more older than him robbed a woman and a deaf kid. they took everything, all the money they had, their jewelry, even their jackets, and ran off. They were going to sell them to turn a quick buck, but they never wold get the chance. You can get robbed, murdered, or just plain beaten up for no reason. If you can't defend yourself then Kiri just wasn't the place for you. They might just get all three.

As the two thugs ran through the streets trying to get away from the situation they bumped into one of the many people in the village you just wish you hadn't. As the first guy bumped into him and kept moving the second guy got snatched by his collar, causing both of his feet to leave the ground as his shirt was let go of, making use of his momentum, causing him to loose his footing, and bringing his back to the ground for a first hand greeting. The cobblestone path knocking against his head made an odd thud sound that alerted his friend to something going on behind him and as he turned around he ran back, eyes filled with anger and fear. Before he could get back to his friend a foot found its way to the grounded boy's face, courtesy of a stomp, breaking his nose and causing a lights out mentality.

This was the second time in less than five minutes that this boy was faced with the decision to fight or run, and sadly enough, his pride got the best of him. He had run from the deaf kid in the alley, but he wasn't running again. From his pocket he pulled a knife out and brandished it at Hozukimaru, his hand trembling as he did. It sucked that he didn't know who he was messing with, and maybe it was Hozukimaru's fault for dressing like a commoner and not a ninja, but that wasn't his problem now was it?

Four handseals and Hozukimaru's eyes focused on the boy with the knife, whose gaze met his cold emotionless eyes. The boy didn't know whether it was fear that struck him or something else but his skin began feeling cold and his body began to tremble. He tried to back away but found that he couldn't. His feet wouldn't move and as he looked down he figured out why. His feet were frozen to the ground and the ice was creeping up his leg. the thug began a frantic struggle to free himself, knocking away at the ice with the knife, but it wouldn't budge, it wouldn't even chip. The ice made its way to his chest and was starting to creep up his arms which slowed his movements and with a desperation move he tried to crack the ice with a strong thrust to the ice on his arm. A second later he was screaming on the ground, a knife in his arm, and no ice or even traces of it anywhere. His arm was bleeding badly as he had stabbed himself deeply, and then took the knife out, but that wasn't the end. He had bumped one of those people in the village that was previously known for their ruthless nature.

" Now which shoulder was it that you bumped me with? It was this one with the knife wound in it wasn't it?

Hozukimaru stepped on the wound, opening it up more and causing a tremendous amount of pain. Then like his friend, Hozukimaru stomped on it, again and again and again. He continued to stomp, the boy grabbing his leg even trying to punch it in attempt to stop the pain. Nothing worked and Hozukimaru kept stomping until the anger left him, and the boy's arm was broken in many many places.

Finally, as a measure of intimidation, in order to keep his reputation feared and true, he kicked the man in the side of the head, knocking him out cold. then he took both their money and began walking away, toward the direction of the deaf kid and the mother. He had learned how to control his cruelty, and understood the value of family. They probably worked hard for whatever they had, and they deserved to have it returned.
