"I know, I know. No revenge. We'll make this bloodless." Of course, Kokuei held no promises.

Kokuei slipped his finger into his cloak and then inside his flak jacket, a small puff of white smoke indicating that he had summoned something: a small amount of blood which now clung to his finger. Performing hand signs, the Nara pressed his hand into the sand before him. Nearly a dozen crows appeared, only to quickly bond together to form a Crow Clone. Kokuei giving the order to stay put in case something was to happen to the duo, the clone obliged.

A smile formed on the Nara's lips. "The oldest trick in the book. Hopefully they fall for it." While he normally kept his hair up in a ponytail, he removed the binding that kept it up. His dull-purple hair fell down to his shoulders. If anyone were to recognize him from the fight, Akiko's plan would fall to shambles.

"I'm very sorry, Akiko. We need to make this look real." With that, Kokuei drew back his arm and threw his fist into Akiko's face; he by no means enjoyed it. The crow clone flinched. Kokuei was no taijutsu expert, but his punch did enough to leave a proper bruise and draw blood. That's all they needed.

Stretching and ripping off small pieces of Akiko's clothing, even Kokuei had to believe that his friend had been through a tussle. "Okay. Now we're ready. Sorry, again." He grabbed Akiko by the shoulder, sort of pulling her along with him. Kokuei was quite good at this whole "prisoner" thing.

Hopefully Akiko wouldn't notice, but this wasn't the Nara's first time. Ashamed to admit it, there had been a few people that Kokuei captured and subdued. All to be released with little to no harm, just a tattoo; but, still.

"Well, what's this?" A rather terrifying looking woman was the first to approach the couple as Kokuei pulled Akiko to the edge of the ruined village. She had a very lean build, messy black hair, and scars that riddled her face. This was no time for Kokuei's anxiety to kick in, he had a role to play.

"I found this bitch wandering just over the dunes there. She's a Suna punk. Look," violently, Kokuei tugged on the head band that hung on her neck, showing the Hidden Sand's symbol. "She put up a fight, but, she I got her. She's weak, just like the rest of the village."

A few insulting comments about Suna were thrown around as more of the... criminals? Scum? Daimyo's forces? Whatever they called themselves, they were interested in Kokuei and the green girl he had brought in, four of them came over to check out the situation. They appeared to have no qualms about Kokuei's presence.

"Why not just kill her? Did you really have to capture her?" one of the soldiers asked. He didn't look any different from a shinobi one would see walking along Suna's streets.

"Well, I mean, look at her!" Kokuei laughed. "Her skin's green! We sh--"

"Yeah. Suna's filled with those swamp-colored freaks," the woman said. "We already found two of them. They're with the rest of the prisoners that we found hiding in Suna. After we finish sweeping through the place, they're all going to be sent to a proper prison. The Daimyo will handle them then." More laughter and insulting comments.

Keeping his cool, Kokuei shrugged. "I know. The more the merrier, right? Why have only two for testing and experimenting if you could have three? The bigger the number, the more accurate the tests." A rule Kokuei has come to know very well.

"Whatever," the man sighed, nodding his head toward the other end of Suna. There appeared to be some sort of small structure in that general area. The prison? "I'll go with you."

Quite contrary to what some may think, Akiko wasn't at all beat up by the fact that Kokuei had struck her. Well, not emotionally beat up about it, though the mark would probably last for awhile. She knew he was nervous about just being here, but it showed he wasn't going to let that anxiety jeopardize their guise. Pushing herself up with her hands fully bound, she looked much more scuffed up then before as she put her renewed fath in Kokuei to gain them entrance. If something did go foul, for whatever reason, she'd still be able to react. The fact that the plant that bound her was her own creation certainly helped since she could cause it to wilt at any moment to free herself and assist Kokuei.

She made her expression that of a distain-filled defeat. Luckily, the hatred for these people was more then natural for her, so the only modification was that she was sure to try and not look like she was in too good a condition. After all, she was the one in cuffs right now. It became more difficult though that the mention of others with like skin. Akiko's heart skipped a beat, for that meant this place did hold Yuriko and Airisu. Suddenly, her desire to rush to these ruins was validated in one moment, knowing that this would not be a full waste so long as she could escape with Kokuei and her two wards, for there were only a total of three Megami to be found within Sunagakure before the attack, which meant without doubt to her that the two others the guards had spoken off were none other then her kin.

From behind her gag she cursed and protested, no more then what could be expected from a prisoner, and no less then what would indicate the need for the gag in the first place. Her frantic flaunts did nothing other then cause the guards to chuckle and prod, proud of their triump over yet another wearing the Suna crest.

Once they were away from the gate Akiko considered the possibility of chocking out the unexpected man that had chosen to accompany them with her wrist binds. However, that would likely only raise an alarm, and for now he served a better purpose since Kokuei couldn't really afford to be caught wandering through the village looking like he hadn't a clue about where to find the prison in the mess.

---

In the dark condition, far from the light, soft green eyes gazed upon the same sight they had been subject to. The truth was, they didn't have much strength left to object to their imprisonment, for while there were two of them, they were not together. From of the confined conditioner were at random when it came to separating the prisoners. There was not enough of the building they had been trapped in left standing for every prisoner to have their own cell, nor was there enough concern from the guard staff to ensure each had the comfort of personal space. However, at least one choice that wasn't at random was the decision to separate the two sisters from one another, their green skin clearly showing that they were connected, so as an added bet of cruelty they were forcefully divided, and with each passing moment they were becoming weaker from their separation.

The purple haired Airisu looked fearfully at the skin on her wrist from behind her glasses. The black veins were clearly visible now, a sign that the plague was returning again within them. "Just hold out Yuri," She with a cough to the sister that wasn't there by her side, just praying that her sibling was in better shape then her. "We'll be back in our own garden soon."

The building was very tiny. And it definitely was not of Suna origin. This small prison was made by the Daimyo's forces as a way to keep prisoners until they could be shipped off. Only a single floor, it was clear that the soldiers hadn't captured enough people to consider expanding the prison.

"What a piss poor structure. Honestly. I'd like to see the guys who slapped that piece of crap together," laughed the man, a few steps in front of Kokuei and Akiko.

Silently, Kokuei slipped his hand off of Akiko's shoulder. It was time for that "Nara resourcefulness". "It's too bad for whoever watches the prisoners. What a depressing place to have to spend time in. I'd be claustrophobic in minutes!" He slowly formed hand signs, then grabbed Akiko's shoulder once again. Kokuei's shadow twitched.

"Yo, Yai?" The man knocked on the entrance to the prison briefly before opening it himself.

"Hey!" A brute of a man stood up from a single chair that leaned against one of the walls. A few meters past him were five prison cells. Two of them had the windows completely closed off, indicating no one was inside. The other three, therefore, had captives. How many exactly was a different story.

"Got another one for ya'!"

"Sort of dangerous to be guarding all these prisoners by yourself, ain't it?" Kokuei asked, stepping closer to the men.

"What? Hell no. With those chakra-constricting gauntlets they're not a problem! Hah! It makes genin nearly unable to manipulate chakra, while the toughest of shinobi look like baby academy students!" Even Kokuei couldn't contain his surprise. What sort of technology was this? Surely nothing he had seen before. "The Daimyo's had his best men working on shit like that for years now! He needed a way to cripple shinobi, and this is a huge first step!"

"God. Shut. Up. You love to hear the sound of your own voice. Enough with the gossip."

As Yai moved in for what looked like a punch, both men froze in their tracks. Kokuei's shadow had moved and split apart, trapping the soldiers in the classic Nara technique. Black hands rose from the bottom of their feet after Kokuei performed another set of hand signs.

"Whoa! What the hell is-- Ack!"

A single shadowy hand crawled down the first man's throat, effectively suffocating him. He'd fall dead within moments. Yai, on the other hand, had a black hand covering his mouth.

"Kitsu?" Kokuei waited a second before calling out his brother's name again. No response. He wasn't here.

Damn it.

"Go release all the prisoners. We'll figure how to get them all out of here and to Redwell. Just give me a moment with this guy." Kokuei reached down to his waist, Yai doing the same, and the brute pulled off the set of cell and chakra-gauntlet keys and threw them to Akiko. Luckily she was able to unbind herself.

Name: Kage Kubi Shibari no Jutsu - Shadow Neck Bind Technique
Rank: B
Range: (Close ~ Mid+ :: Ten Meters + Surface Area of Each Additional Shadow)
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Elemental Affinity: Kage - Shadow
Clan: Nara

Description: This is an advancement of capturing an opponent with the "Shadow Imitation Technique". After the target has been captured with the users’ shadow, the user will make a string of hand-signs consisting of "Dragon-Tiger-Rat" in order to being this technique. The users’ shadow will then take the form of a creeping hand as it glides up the trapped victims’ body making its way to the neck of the opponent in an aim to strangle the trapped victim with the physical grip that results form this technique. However, with sufficient chakra the victim will be able to push back the shadow hand and resist this technique, which is more effective at a closer range. Furthermore, this technique, like the "Shadow Possession Technique", is a drain on the user’s chakra. After the hand-signs that begin this technique are formed, the user will have some use of their arms in relation with this technique, though in order to maintain a good control over the creeping shadow a single-handed focusing hand-sign can be used. At extremely close range however, even this sign is not needed, for the user maintains a greater control over their shadow the closer they are manipulating it to their own body.

Name: Kage Heisetsu - Shadow Link
Rank: B
Range: (Close :: Half a Meter)
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Elemental Affinity: Kage - Shadow
Clan: Nara

Description: After forming two hand signs, Kokuei will be able to move his shadow very slightly, up to a half of a meter, upon will. This Jutsu will stay active for two (of his own) turns. During this time, if his shadow connects with someone else's the shadows will connect and the Shadow Imitation Technique will automatically take place. Once the two turns go by the shadow will revert back to normal (unless Kokuei's shadow connected with someone's) and a chunk of his Chakra will have been used for nothing.

The moment after the two men froze Akiko understood exactly what was happening, and with a bite from her jaw the plant-crafted robe simply ripped apart and fell to the ground. The same was true of the binds around her hands, the rope simply wilting at the point of constriction before falling straight off in time enough for Akiko to flick out a single chakra string from her index to snatch the keys in mid air and guide them straight to her hand with a tug.

Before rushing off she looked at Kokuei and enlightened him. "Not like we'll be waltzing out da front door. We need and get 'em ta da Green 'Ouse. Trust me on dis one, I've already got an escape route." She didn't have more time to explain about it before heading over to the nearest of the cells. She didn't even need the keys in order to get through the wooden door that closed off the cell. Instead, wearing the keyring like a bracelet she formed a few simple hand-signs. Mokuton no Jutsu | Nature Release Technique "Get back!" She ordered through the small window into the cell before punching the door and causing the wood to splinter apart into countless pieces. On the small of her back a hardened segment of her spin formed, but it wasn't visible behind her plant-like armor.

She hurried into the cage to find a sparse three shinobi in them, immediately rushing down to the side of a figure that struck her like a memory. "Airisu" She said touching her forehead against that of the younger girl before she even full understood what was going on.

"Akiko-senpai!"

"Ya, it's a Suna raid!!" The man int he corner cheered at the sight of Kokuei's Suna headband that was still around Akiko's neck.

Akiko unclasped the chakra lock around her apprentices' wrist letting the horrid device fall to the floor. "Da Plague's all but taken you, where is yur sista?" She said checking both her pupils and visible veins.

"They took her almost a week ago. I'm not sure."

Akiko quickly freed the other two in the cell and told one of the men to help Airisu to her feet. The weakened Megami walked with her arm thrown around the man's shoulder slowly behind the rushing Akiko who hurried over to the next cell in similar fashion. Two women she had never met before were in it. The, frantically, to the third. Two more men and a woman, but no Yuriko!

Her anxiety almost instantly switched to blood-fury and rage. "You Bastards!" Her hands quickly shot into a set of deliberate hand-signs before throned vines shot out of the woodwork and coiled around the man Kokuei had let live. Mokuton: Houshi no Matsuri | Nature Release: Vines of Enshrinement "Where is she?" She walked right over to the trapped man and glared at him with hell in her eyes. "Green skin like me own, und blue 'air. Where is she?"

Spoiler:
Name: Mokuton no Jutsu [ Nature Release Technique ]
Rank: [ Chuunin Level ]
Range: Close-Far Range (0-50m)
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Elemental Affinity: Mokuton | Nature
Clan: --
Description: This is simply a release of Mokuton chakra in order to form plants life out of chakra, but ones not necessarily in the form prescribed by other jutsu. After performing several hand-signs and channeling Mokuton chakra within the target area, either the soil, tree, the user’s own body, or some other legitimate source where the life can spring from, the user can create a multitude of plant life that they can then control through their chakra, bending it to use in grappling constricting, throwing, shielding, or supporting what they choose with this technique. Being that the Megami do not specialize in true wood, they will create a variety of non-wooden plants with this technique, though once these plants are removed from their chakra they begin to simply grow like normal. The user can also use this technique to bend and mold existing plant life, though this is less effective then Organic Puppetry as the movements of the plants are less fluid. However, with this technique the use can form weapons, such as swords, knives, or other simple ones, form plants. At Genin level this technique remains simple, only being able to create a limited amount of plants, which vary in effectiveness depending on the species. However, at Chuunin and Jounin the user’s skill increases with this technique, allowing them to create enough plants to potentially overwhelm their opponents. The user will not be able to perform many techniques with this one active, and in the case of Akiko little more then simple puppetry can be done coherently with this technique. Furthermore, the user will usually have to add a physical aspect to this manipulation, such as holding out their hand in the direct they are controlling their plant life in.

Name: Mokuton: Houshi no Matsuri [ | Nature Release: Vines of Enshrinement | ]
Rank: C
Range: Close-Mid Range (0-10m)
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Elemental Affinity: Mokuton | Nature
Clan: Megami
Description: This is an effective technique that aims at immobilizing the opponent through the use of vines. After forming several hand-signs, the user will channel Mokuton chakra into the area the vines rapidly spout from, which can be the soil, other plant life, or even the user’s skin. Given the plant biology of the Megami clan, the user is able to apply these vines to their skin, as the vines are able to grow from other plant life given that vines usually have somewhat of a parasitic aspect to them. These vines, which number anywhere between 10-20 for Genin [21-50 for Chuunin and 51-100 for Jounin] shoot out quickly, wrapping around the opponent and constricting with a fair degree of force, though not enough to cut off circulation at Genin. Since these vines remain attached to the location they grow from, they are able to pull back once they have grappled onto something, acting like chains in the ground to hold their target down. It is possible also to combine the Megami aspects to this technique, combining these vines with other plants through genetic manipulation, such as making throne or flowering vines. However, as a plant these vines are susceptible to being cut, or lit on fire like normal plant life is.

"Really? You already have a plan?" Kokuei's eyes flicked to Akiko, a relieved smile on his face. "Wonderful! I wasn't sure how many of these guys I could trap in my shadow." He laughed lightly, but Yai wasn't nearly as amused.

The Nara formed another set of hand signs. With Akiko freeing the prisoners, Kokuei was free to focus all his attention of the soldier. He would be a little experiment, and a valuable source of information.

A single tendril rose from the shadow beneath Yai. It slid up his shirt, causing the brute's eyes to widen and chest to rapidly move. Simply put, he was freaking out. "Sshh..." hushed Kokuei, an unconscious smirk forming on his face.

If the shadow born hand wasn't covering the brute's mouth, he would have surely yelped. The tendril bit into his side leaving two small black dots and a small circle of fuuinjutsu writing, though that quickly dissolved into his skin. It was a Tracking Seal, allowing Kokuei to roughly pinpoint the brute's location in the future. This proof useful for Suna's purposes, but Kokuei had more than that in mind. He had other seals to try out, and he hadn't yet tried more than a couple seals on a person at a time. Yes, this man would be Kokuei's experimental play thing. He would perform tests, and then use his Memory Loss fuuinjutsu to wipe his short term memory. His brain would be a mess of seals eventually-- and that was so exciting!

Kokuei's unconscious smirk grew.

The shadow that connected Yai and Kokuei broke off as Akiko stepped in, including the shadow hands so the man could speak. Kokuei intended on choking the man until he blacked out, then slapping the aforementioned Memory Loss seal onto him. He'd just have to do that after, of course.

"Don't kill him, Akiko," Kokuei demanded, a sort of anxious kindness in his voice as he moved by his green friend's side. "I put a tracking seal on him, and I intend knock him out and wipe his short term memory after we're done here. He'll be very useful." If only Akiko knew how useful.

"A tracking seal?! Wha--"

"Though if he keeps shouting like that, by all means, end him."

Yai gulped and, followed by a quiver of the lips, he enlightened Akiko on her relative's situation. "I'm not... entirely sure. About a week ago a few horse driven wagons came by to pick up most of the prisoners. The other green kid and a couple others were left behind because they ran out of room." The brute lightly shook his head, eyes glancing around. "Um... I believe they were taken to Kazetokai, there's a pretty large prison there. And a laboratory. She'd be in one or the other, I'm sure of it! Please don't kill me! I won't tell anyone, I swear!"

Kokuei wrung his hands, looking over to Akiko. "That's the city where the Daimyo lives." The last place any Suna-nin should tread. Kazetokai would be far more fortified than the ruins of the Hidden Sand, never mind breaking into the grand prison. "That could also be where my brother is. But... I don't think it's possible. We'd be tossed into that prison ourselves, with those nasty gauntlets on our hands. ...Or, I would be. I bet they'd stick you in that laboratory." Kokuei wasn't about to give up on his brother, but this was, by far, beyond the two chuunin's capabilities.

Name: Ashigatsuku Fu - Tracking Seal
Rank: A
Range: (Close :: Tendril – Close ~ Mid)
Jutsu Type: Fuuinjutsu
Elemental Affinity: Kage - Shadow
Clan: Nara

Description: The Tracking Seal Technique is a very unique and interesting use of Kokuei’s shadow. After performing several handseals, a shadow tendril will rise from Kokuei’s own, complete with a mouth-like feature. The tendril can stretch out up to ten meters. Once the tendril is in range of Kokuei’s target, it will bite down on an area of the target’s body. The bite hurts very little, and really only breaks the skin. Two round, black marks are left on the target’s body. Other smaller seals and odd writing will expand from the two small, circular dots and then fade quickly. This is a tracking seal to allow Kokuei a general idea of where his target is. Not an exact location, but Kokuei can point out the sector (north, south, east and west) of the village (or forest, cave, etc) of where his target is. To get rid of the seal, one cannot just carve out the two black dots, it would take some sort of Fuuinjutsu technique impossible for Genin or Chuunin (unless they have a specialty in Fuuinjutsu) to achieve.

"I don't 'ave a choice!" Her head darted towards Kokuei. Her eyes reflected a mix of the furious anger she had towards the restricted man and tears being held back by other thoughts. Her voice was much of the same mix, but her emotions were no so strong that her plant manipulation was keyed to them. Subconsciously, the vines that insnared Diamyo's grunt tightened in their coils. "Airisu und 'er sister 'ave a disease. Da same one dat killed off da lot of me clan. Dare resistant to it only when dare together, but if dare apart too long, they'll die. You can't ask me to allow for dem both ta die, not when there are so few of us left. I won't turn me back on me clan."

For Akiko, it wasn't a choice. The thought of self-preservation wasn't a restricting factor. She wasn't about to back down only to spare herself from the lab and the locket. Even if she had to raise Kazetokai to the ground, she would try such an attempt if it put her at all closer to preserving what was left of the Megami.

"I've got two days, maybe a tred, tops, so let's get da 'Ell outta 'ere wit dis lot, but I won't be going ta Redwall afta dat." She didn't really expect Kokuei to understand, neither would she ask him to make further risks to his own life, but once they were out of these ruins, Akiko would have to push on. "As fur you!" She said, her voice return more to fury then to sadness as she looked upon the trapped man and clenched his mouth shut with a hand pressed to either side of his face, pressing hard on his cheeks. "If I loose me kin, I swear to Inari I'll 'unt you down. I will find you, and when I do I'll subject you ta ever form of torture untill dare forced ta redefine da word!"

Her hand reached in to her side pouch and pulled from it a single seed that she lifted up to be on level with her mouth and his. "Now be a good dog and sleep." She blew into her palm causing the seed to break apart into dust particles and flow entirely up the man's nostrils. After that she released her grip and her vines wilted away. The lug hit the floor with thud, completely knocked out from an overdose of Bettersweet Nightshade delivered through Mokuton: Kansen Kaze no Jutsu | Nature Release: Infectious Breeze Technique. She looked down at the man, and in a softer voice towards Kokuei, she spoke back. "Do what you 'ave ta."

"As fur da rest of you," She looked up to the weakened prisoners. She knew their chakra capacities probably weren't going to be too high having just had those gauntlets removed. "We're making for da old Green 'Ouse. I've got an escape route dare dat'll take us into da old underground aqueducts. It'll be da safest route out of da village, but we may 'ave to fight our way to the 'Ouse. If any of you are strong enough, best to prep now. Otherwise stay together, und let me und Kokuei 'andle da tussle."

She reached into a different pouch and pulled out a scroll. Let some of the parchment length fall out, chakra strings attached themselves to several seals and ripped out from them fully armed puppets through Kugutsu Kuchiyose | Puppet Summoning. To either side of her now stood her creations Ken'Odoriko | Blade Dancer and Kuro'Heki | Black Tear.

Name: Mokuton: Kansen Kaze no Jutsu [ Nature Release: Infectious Breeze Technique ]
Rank: C
Range: Close-Mid Range (0-10m)
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Elemental Affinity: Mokuton | Nature
Clan: Megami
Description: This is a versatile technique, and if done with a high enough level requires no hand-signs to perform. By gathering Mokuton chakra into a part of the body, usually the palm of the hands, the user is able to create an abundance of pollen like spores that are so light they are carried upon the natural breezes of wind, or can even simply be blown off the user’s body with breath. The use is able to maintain some control over the direction of these spores with their Mokuton chakra so long as they are kept close to their body. However, the aim of this technique is to spread these spores across a wide area in order to ensure them being inhaled by the opponent. The effects of the spores depends on what spores were formed with this move, but the chakra coast of each type of spores is relatively the same. The types of spores that can be created largely depends on the user, though through the use of the Idenshigan the user can develop new lasting spore types depending on their level of Mokuton manipulation and practice with the genetic codes of the plants they develop these spores from. At a Genin level this technique as an obvious downside in that the spores are created in such a way that they appear as visible colored clouds, allowing the opponent to clearly see where the spores are. However, at a higher level these spores can be made so refined that they are invisible to the eye. The Megami cannot create many spore types from memory alone, so this technique is usually used in combination with poisonous seeds as a delivery mechanism for poisons [approved through equipment].

Name: Kugutsu no Jutsu [ | Puppetry Technique | ]
Rank: C
Range: Close-Far Range (0-25m)
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu [ | Puppetry | ]
Elemental Affinity: --
Clan: --
Description: This is a technique that allows the user to utilize puppets to attack from a distance. Using the body’s chakra, the ninja will emit multiple strings of chakra that run form their fingers to the puppet. The puppet itself can be loaded with many weapons and tools, allowing the puppet master to be protected form attacks as they use their puppet in combat rather then themselves. The ranges and number of puppets for this technique are determined through the puppet template. Certain puppets require more chakra stings then others, and a user must maintain constant practice with this technique in order to perform well in battle. A new puppet can sometimes act as shaky to the user that has not had an opportunity to practice with that particular puppet, especially if it is a puppet that the user had not part in the creation of, making it completely foreign to the user.

Name: Kugutsu Kuchiyose [ | Puppet Summoning | ]
Rank: C
Range: Supplementary
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Elemental Affinity: --
Clan: --
Description: This is an alternate form of summoning that does not require a blood donation, but is not done by simply performing the technique alone. This summoning works with seals written upon scrolls that contain a puppeteer's puppets. The complexity of the seals can vary, as can the number of puppets each scroll contains. If the user is able to craft the seal on small enough scrolls then they need to worry about carrying too large of scrolls with them as a means of easily transporting their puppets. To perform this technique the user needs only to reveal the seal holding their puppet by unrolling the proper scroll and then channel chakra into it, either by direct contact or contract through a chakra string, causing the puppet to be ripped out of the seal with a small puff of summoning smoke.

Puppet Name: Kuro'Heki [ | Black Tear | ]
Rank: B
Range: Close-Far Range (0-25m)
Type: Offensive
Description: [X] Kuro'Heki is Akiko's second reaper-theme puppet, but is stronger then the first. The puppet has two heads, the outer most is simply for show as both are located in the same location. Realistically, the first head is nothing other then a wooden mask that makes the head of the puppet look like a jack-o-lantern, while the actual puppet head with gears in it is in the shape of a skull. Puppet head can peal back down the middle creating a look similar to a cobra hood. The pupet has a very natural looking skull complete with a full set of fake teeth. The large portion of this puppet is covered by a black cloak, though the large skeleton like arms extend outside of the cloak with long boney fingers.
Weapons:
Scythe: This puppet has on it a double bladed scythe, with one serrated blade curving out from each end in opposite directions. The blades are metal and are extremely sharp due to their jagged nature, having a cutting edge on each side of the blade itself. The handle of the large staff is made from wood. This scythe is not normally equipped with a poison, but Akiko can quickly apply one with use of her poison seeds.

Poison Vent: The mouth unit of the puppet contains a slot for a seed spore along with a fan mechanism in order to create a cloud of poisonous gas when activated. This gas can be spewed when either face is covering the puppet, as the jack-o-lantern skulls has holes in it in front of the mouth and eyes of the puppet. The seed normally in this slot is the Nightshade poison, though this can be switched out for others.

Multi-Arm Seal: Located on the forearm of the right arm, a seal is revealed here when the ulna bone opens a hidden latch. This seal contains countless more arms for the puppet, all of which are segmented and aim as stretching out and grappling or binding the opponent in a miniature forest of puppet arms. The chakra needed for this seal is derived from the user, and the increased number of arms will slow this puppet down.

Earth Drill Seal: On the left hand of this puppet is a seal for Akiko's Doton: Chikiri no Jutsu [ | Earth Release: Earth Drill Technique | ]. When activated, the jutsu will take effect. The chakra cost for the technique is derived from the user, and there will need to be sufficient earth around the area to draw upon for this technique.

Entangling Vines Seal: On the chest of the puppet is a seal for Akiko's Mokuton: Houshi no Matsuri [ | Plant Life Release: Vines of Enshrinement | ] technique. When activated by use of a chakra sings, and no hand-signs, a plethora of spiked vines will shoot out of the chest of the puppet and attempt to entangle the opponent. Though Organic Puppetry the user can manipulate these vines further after the initial release of the technique. The chakra for this technique is derived from the user and the vines shoot out of the cloak, ripping the black cloak slightly as a result.

Bladed Spine: Much like the original reaper puppet, there are not legs on this puppet, but only a long segmented tail that extends out to attack and defend. However, the tail on this puppet is larger, measuring around eight inches in width and with a reach of 5 meters when fully extended. Furthermore, the tail is always coated in a poison, this being the Black Nightshade poison.

Puppet Name: Ken'Odoriko [ | Blade Dancer | ]
Rank: B
Range: Close-Far Range (0-25m)
Type: Offensive
Description: [X] Ken'Odoriko is one of Akiko's favorite puppets, which is saying a lot as it competes for affection with the Pets the puppeteer has collected. The puppet is wooden, and possesses a very smooth and rounded head. The head fits into a turtleneck-like slotting that leads down to broad shoulders being covered in folded fabric sleeves. To the right the shoulder is longer in order to account for the unique arm on that side. While the upper arm is the sam as normal, at the elbow arm splits into two puppet arms, humanoid in shape and capable of rotating at the elbow. On the left side, while the shoulder appears more close to normal size on this puppet that stands at about 7 foot in height, the upper arm and forearm are larger to account for the large blade held on this die of the puppet. The forearm on the left is covered in metal plating. The chest of the puppet leads down into a rope wrapped waist. While these wood planks extend lower then this, they die off into a green fabric skirt that covers the legs of this puppet all the way down to the feet which are exposed at the bottom.
Weapons:
Staff Blades: Attached to the robe sashes of the puppet are three metal casings, two of which measure two feet in length while the other measures three. Two blades, each the length of the case, extend from either side of these unites which can be held in the puppet hands to attack with. These two smaller staff blades are coated in the Bittersweet Nightshade poison while the larger of the three staff blades are coated in the Deadly Nightshade poison.

Large Sword: To support the weight of this sword it must either be held in the larger left hand, or held in both of the hands on the right side. The sword itself is large, being a cleaver sword that measures 6 feet in length, usually held at the middle of the blade, as there is no clear hilt. Because of this, it would be dangerous for the blade to be held in human hands, as the puppet does not have to worry about cutting itself, especially since the metal coated left arm has on it the armor it does. To one side is a double edged sword ending in the point, while the other has a double sided blade complete with several spikes.

Scythe Blades: When these blades are not in use they rise up behind the puppet to create two curved arches that nearly come to a meeting point above the puppet. However, which activated the blades fold out like a demon wind shuriken to reveal five blades on each end the extra limb that these are attached to then extend down, connecting with the puppet at the waist while these blades begin to rapidly spin. These blades are coated in the Horse-Chestnut poison.

Hammer Mechanism: On the right side of the puppet on the higher of the two right forearms is equiped with a mechanism that emits a blast of chakra similar to the Strong Arm technique, though weaker in effectiveness. When activated the corresponding hand pulsates with visible red chakra, though the chakra for this technique is derived from the user of the puppet.

Hidden Blade: In the lower right forearm is a hidden blade that extends out of the opening on the palm that is created when the wrist folds down on the puppet. The blade is a little more then two feet in length and is coated in the Black Lotus poison. The blade pops out quickly to allow for a hidden attack.

"Akiko... I'm so sorry." Kokuei sighed, his hands still grasping each other. Getting into Kazetokai without notice from the guards would be next to impossible. It was just another city, but it was the Daimyo's city. And they were on high alert for anyone allied with Suna.

"I won't be coming with you," he said. "I need to find my brother. I can't risk my life or my freedom. He may be in Kazetokai with your friend, but he may not be. I need to keep searching for him." Kokuei was truly sorry. He wanted to help Akiko, but he needed to put blood first. Plus, it seemed like a hopeless effort. Perhaps if Kokuei had been stronger he would have found a way to use fuuinjutsu to transport himself into Kazetokai's borders. "Just promise me you'll do it smart."

The Nara knelt down beside the unconscious man, forming a string of hand signs. He then pressed a paper with a seal etched onto the front against the man's forehead. Within moments it shined a light blue, and Kokuei stood up, slowly walking toward Akiko and the others.

Placing a single hand to his head, Kokuei closed his eyes. His crow clone would be sent to work.

"HELP!" Kokuei's crow clone shouted, his hair whipping around as he ran down the sand dunes and toward the ruins of Suna.

"What the hell?"

A handful of soldiers perked up, coming to check the situation. Of course, some of them would recognize Kokuei from minutes before, but hopefully they wouldn't think much of it. It would add to the distraction, at least.

"There's an army, a big one! A large team of Suna shinobi are coming this way! We have to set up a trap! We have to do something!"

"Shit! I knew it! Let's go!!" one of the soldiers shouted.

"I set up a distraction. We're not gonna have much time. Let's get to that greenhouse. We have to sacrifice stealth for speed."

Kokuei opened the door that led out of the prison, a large amount of the soldiers scrambling up the dune hills in the distance. "Akiko, lead the way! I'll take the rear." Holding the door open, Kokuei's eyes cautiously watched the far off soldiers. How long before they would notice?

Spoiler:
Name: Kenboushou - Loss of Memory
Rank: B
Range: (Close)
Jutsu Type: Fuuinjutsu
Elemental Affinity: -
Clan: -

Description: The abilities of this technique are similar in the capabilities and process as Naruto's Kyuubi Seal. Kokuei will place a paper/note/tag with a common seal on it onto the forehead of his target. At this point, memories from a certain amount of time are suppressed into the subconscious. Keeping the seal on the target's forehead for one turn will 'erase' ten minutes of memories. Two turns is twenty minutes of memory, and three turns is thirty minutes of memory. The target will be slightly dazed after their memories have been sealed, providing Kokuei a time to either blend into the situation or escape. However, each turn (including the first) requires an extra C-ranked amount of Chakra to finish the seal. The target is left with no seal on their exterior, but a very light black seal on the brain. This seal is not dangerous to the barer in the slightest.
To break the seal and re-obtain the memories can be done in two ways: one, is proper unlocking my Kokuei or another Chuunin or higher Fuuinjutsu specialist. Or two, is a similar way in how Naruto's seal is slowly broken; seeing or hearing things very or exactly similar to the suppressed memory will cause the seal to weaken and the person with the suppressed memories will remember bits and pieces of the forgotten event.

"Here, I gotcha" One of the freed Suna-nin said as he took Airisu from the guy that was helping her stand. The man wore a partial beard, and was the largest of the prisoners they had just freed. With one hand placed on her back, he bent down politely to pick her up with the other hand just behind her knees. Airisu, being a victim of the plague, was the weakest of all the liberated.

"No..I...Thank you." She didn't want Akiko thinking she was weak, not that she really thought the more mature Megami would think lesser of her. However, she knew how badly her mentor was focused upon finding a cure for the very disease that was now claiming her. All the times she and her sister had sat down to give blood for more testing and diagnosis. Akiko had been so sure that between the two of the twins, a cure would be found, since when they were close enough together, it was almost like they were immune to the affects of the Plague. Sadly, whatever enzymes were in their blood could not cross over into their fellow Megami. In close proximity they were healthy, but when extracted and injected in a combined solution they were...toxic.

Akiko could do nothing other then break gaze with Kokuei and look down slightly when she modified his promise. "I can't say it'll be smart, but I will promise dat I'll be coming outta dis alive." She looked back up at him. "I survived a genocidal Plague, und da two centuries dat followed. I'm not about to let some wanker do me in."

After that she went to deliver her instructions to the liberated Suna-nin, and by the time she was done, so too was Kokuei with his fuuinjutsu work. He was the best at the art of anyone she knew, enough so to make her a tad bit jealous since she only had a mediocre skill at seal-work in relation to her puppets.

With the slight clatter of puppet joints at work, Akiko and her entourage of marionette creations moved out into the open streets. Speed, as Kokuei had pointed out were crucial, but she made sure to not move so fast as to loose connection with the gang that traveled behind, as she wasn't about to allow one of them to die after having gotten this far.

A short-haired dirty blonde held two fingers in front of her face while momentarily closing her eyes. She opened them again vigorously, almost like activating a doujutsu without showing visible differences between her eyes. "Around the bend, there's two thugs making rounds!" Akiko immediately understood she was a sensor-type, and thank goodness since it made it so much easier to react to what she was no expecting. Taking the turn, the Bladed Dancer lunged out and pierced one of the shanty men straight through the heart with one of its smaller blades while the the Black Tear gave a clear and powerful upper-cutting slash to sent the other one to the ground.

As Akiko continued on, two of the men in the pack stopped momentarily to raid weapons from the two soldiers Akiko had just taken down, picking up the sword and mace to better arm themselves considering the lack of chakra the gauntlets had left them with.

Kokuei looked at Akiko with soft eyes, disappointment written all over his face. Not disappointed with Akiko, but at her situation-- what she had to risk to get her sibling. It was do or die. No time to sit back and think of a plan.

Nodding his head, the small group of Suna survivors began their frantic race into the ruins.

Just like that, two soldiers were brought down. Barely a sound was made. Kokuei had almost forgotten, it wasn't just Akiko and himself who were fighting, it was everyone. They were thrown into a prison, restricted of their abilities, and forced to sit by idly as the Daimyo's forces slowly transformed their village into something different, something that was not their home.

"One more... wait..." Focusing, the short-haired woman slowed down a bit. Her eyes shot to the ground. "There's someone coming up! There! No-- there!"

"Pinpoint their location as best you can!" Kokuei ordered, forming a short string of hand signs. He was losing strength already. Using fuuinjutsu was a drain on the Nara, especially seals as powerful as his Tracking and Memory Loss ones.

"The chakra source is get--There! There!"

Suddenly, from the pavement-turned-rubble and sand near Kokuei, several large arms began to form from the mess and the upper torso of an actual person began to emerge. Unfortunately for him, that was all he was going to do. Kokuei's shadow reached out and latched onto the small shadow that his torso cast. He was stuck in the ground.

No time to proper cleave his head off, or summon forth a weapon, Kokuei went for a more gruesome approach-- a chakra-powered kick to the face. The details shall be spared.

"How much further, Akiko?" The "no stealth" approach appeared to be working for the most part. Aside from the partially decapitated sand swimmer, no one was even aware of their presence.

"Not far. Just pray it ain't buried in a pile of rubble." She probably should have mentioned that possibility before hand. What's more, the appearance of the sand swimmer made her nervous that the underground expanses of the village had not been left so untouched as she would have hoped. Still, she was fairly confident that her lab would be secure. It had gone unnoticed for years by all the forces of Sunagakure in its prime, a bunch of desperate thugs couldn't possible have better understanding of the lay of the land then the proprietors of the sand.

Cutting through a back alleyway, Akiko exited the group out directly in front of the old Green House. Her Dancer charged first into a scene of a decrepitude. Half the structure was missing, the glass fallen right off of the building. On this side only a few bent bars of metal framing remained. The other side was mostly whole other then a few cracks and shattered panels.

Akiko walked through the shattered entrance, her boots causing a piece of shattered shards to crack under it as she did. Her puppets didn't have the same problem as they floated overtop the fallen rubble. As the two shinobi who had armed themselves off of the weapons of those that Akiko had struck down covered the door after the others had entered, Akiko let her puppets drop to the ground as she released her springs. "Stay back a tick." Akiko formed a few hand-signs to again activate her control of nature, and between it and a serious of body movements shoving the air in front of her, the branches and vines that had covered a back wall parted. Along with them they moved the rubble that had fallen on what had once been a small waterfall display in the Green House. The water no longer flowed, but the large boulder that it went overtop was there. A different set of hand-signs was formed to activate her abilities with Doton. Clapping her hands together, and then spreading them apart, the massive bolder separated straight down the middle and moved away to reveal the entry way into a stairwell leading down.

"Quickly now. I'll reseal da entry afta you're all tru."

The path, though dark, would light itself up with strange green glowing mushroom like creations. It would lead down to Akiko's private laboratory, something that she wasn't quite happy about having to reveal, but something that would be a necessary bridge to the aqueducts that would provide their escape. The main lab table featured a half-corpse of a large tiger she had collected in the Land of Birds. The other half of the body was converted into a puppet form, and early attempt at the creation of Hitokugutsu. Most of the other creations, though mutant none the less, were plant based. There was a smaller corpse flower that would release a pungent gas if touched, or a flytrap just waiting for someone to get close. It was certainly a place you would not want to go fiddling around with.

A smirk showed on Kokuei's face. "Very hidden. Hah." Maybe they would get out of Suna safely? It sure seemed like it now.

As he moved down the staircases and through passageways, Kokuei couldn't help but peer into the laboratory areas. Kokuei wasn't much of a biologist or a botanist, not like Akiko, but he knew what a lab looked like. For Kokuei, a lab was a sort of... negative place. It was filled with guilt, his guilt. Bringing in younger shinobi, slapping a seal on them, and then another to make them forget. Kokuei alone bore the memories of what happened-- he and he alone knew. He knew the slanted slope he was falling down. Deep inside he was all too aware that this was wrong, and that it would only get worse. But he wasn't going to stop, he couldn't stop. Science; it was such an addicting thing.

"What...?" The Nara's eyes widened as he examined what lay on some of Akiko's tables.

It was... well... science. The same breed of science that Kokuei dabbled in. Morally incorrect and guilt-filled. He was aware of Akiko's puppet skills, but he had no clue how she made them. Clearly some of them were created from people. Just like that kid that Kokuei killed, he used human puppets too. Of course, shinobi-turned-puppets were too good to pass up. Kokuei stole them after killing the boy.

Seeing Akiko's labs made Kokuei feel... better. Better about himself, and better about what he was doing. If Akiko, the sweet girl who hugged Kokuei and treated him like a brother, could do all this "horrible" experimenting, maybe it wasn't so "horrible" after all. Kokuei felt as if he wasn't so alone.

A sigh of relief passed Kokuei's lips, followed by a warm sensation that ran through his body: comfort. For the first time since he began his experiments, he felt comfortable. This was good. This was a step forward for Kokuei, who's 19th birthday was just around the corner. Almost 20, almost truly an adult, and finally he was comfortable with himself. He still had a long way to go before he could reach adulthood. With a whole year ahead of him, maybe he'd be ready.

"You can put me down now." Airisu, though still not strong, wanted let down the moment they were inside Akiko's hidden lab. The man that had carried her, still shocked and disturbed by what they were seeing in this place, did not pass up the request to get one of the green skinned beings off of his hands, as his opinion of Akiko, and anyone associated with her, had taken a dramatic plunge off a cliff. Airisu worked her way to a nearby table, and with as much haste as she had in her, began storying scrolls and samples into bags that were just like the ones Akiko always kept around her lips.

"What is this place?" The sensor asked.

"It's a research facility. Nothing more."

"Research my ass!" One of the men cut in, slamming his hands upon the dissection table, but quickly removing them when he thought he saw something move. "That's a human puppet there!" He pointed to the half-converted tiger on the table, overlooking the fact that the creature was actually a tiger, though not distracting from his claim given the process used to create its puppet half. "You telling me she's in the same lot as Akasuna no Sasori?"

"NO!" Akiko's voice was heard objecting from higher on the stairwell. She had taken a moment to reseal her puppets before securing the entry way to her lab. She knew what kind of reactions to expect, but she was really only concerned with what reaction Kokuei would have. He was the only one of this bunch that had actually known her, but being exposed to this meant that now he more completely knew her. When she got down to the main chamber she approached the man, staring him dead in the eyes. "People like Sasori abandon dare villages fur dare pursuits. I 'ave not, or 'ave you already forgotten why we're 'ere in da first place. What I've done, I don't need ta justify ta you."

She turned away from the man who had little response after having been reminded that Akiko had helped to free him from his cage. "Dat tunnel dare," She pointed. "Leads to the aqueducts. Airisu, set the charges." The majority of the rescued prisoners existed into the tunnel and collected at where they met with the far larger aqueduct system. The channels had run dry, likely from being damed off from fallen rubble during the attacks, or maybe severed further down outside the village as a means of starving Sunagakure. Airisu followed behind the group, her hand traveling on the wall as it unrolled a scroll along the vertical surface. At almost the end, she used an explosive note to hold the length of parchment in place.

Akiko stayed behind a moment longer. Chakra strings reached out to pluck many of her puppet scrolls off of the wall to fill another bag with them. During her travel, she had only carried a portion of her creations, but she didn't want to leave the rest behind. Luckily, the Daimyo would not benefit from her experiments. Akiko had kept a protocol ready for escape if necessary, though it had been originally designed for escape from Sunagakure if the need arose given that she knew people would not take kindly to her kind of science. The Green House had been the perfect place for her lab given her connection with plants. The aqueducts fed water to the facility, both the Green House and her own, and so she burrowed out the tunnel, and kept an explosive charge ready to blast her lab into oblivion should she half to.

There wasn't time enough to collect all the samples, but what she had among the assortments of scrolls and documented notes would put her a bit higher then ground zero. "I'm sorry you 'ad to see dis place," She spoke to her Nara companion. "If I 'ad thought we could get from da village any other way, I wouldn't 'ave brought you all 'ere."

Kokuei had unconsciously moved ahead of the group as they traveled through the "green house". He was fascinated and curious. When what sounded like an argument broke out, Kokuei stopped, turning back to the escaped prisoners.

Had he been with the rest of them, Kokuei would have suppressed his anxiety and defended Akiko. But, she was far more than capable to handle herself. Kokuei wanted to do something for Akiko, though. He wanted to give her a present, be her best friend, do something... amazing for her. Something to show his gratitude for the comfort that she had bestowed upon him.

He knew what to do.

As the silenced, albiet still disturbed, group of escapees moved toward the channel, Kokuei slowly followed them, waiting for Akiko to finish so the two could have a moment to speak.

"Sorry?" Kokuei gave his Megami companion a smile. "You shouldn't be ashamed of what you're doing here. This is science. This is amazing, Akiko. It's really too bad that regular folk don't understand this kind of science. But don't let that bother you. You are on to incredible things!" Suddenly, the Nara felt as if he was expressing his thoughts on his own experiments. "It was inspiring to see all that, Akiko. An honor. Don't ever stop doing research. Don't listen to anyone who tells you what you're doing is 'wrong'. They are fools and simply don't understand." A slight tingling sensation ran through Kokuei's spine-- his crow clone had been destroyed.

"I'll come with you to Kazetokai," he said, a bit of confidence in his tone. "It was cowardly of me to let you go alone to find your relative. We're in this together 'til we find her." This would be Kokuei's offer of gratitude. Plus, he sort of wanted to. He felt as if a second wind had swept through his body-- he felt rejuvenated and ready for action!

Akiko put down the sack she had just filled and looked straight to Kokuei. It really did make her feel better that he was not harshly judging her. Though, in the same breath, it made her feel torn. After what her and Dokutoru had discovered of the Megami experiments in the past, breaching too far into science can leave one blind to the consequences of their actions. Still, someone does not simply change overnight, and what was contained within this room as her passion. Each one of these creations an obsession in itself. While some led down darker roads, she having unlocked a new branch of Human Puppetry, others had offered much brighter outlooks. For instance, one of the vials behind Kokuei contained an experimental vaccine to counteract senility synthesized from rosemary pollen and several other additions taken form plant DNA.

"You would tink afta being da only one wit green skin und a funny accent fur so long I'd be used ta being misunderstood, but it really does mean a world to me, Love, to 'ear you say dis." Considering the latter of the two traits, the strange mannerism of speech she had taken on from the mental damage of a two hundred year long sleep, Akiko was commonly victim of having her words at the very least poorly understood. "'Owever," And this she really didn't want to have to admit. "If you don't go along back ta Redwall, da others may never get back. As it is, you're da only one of us dat 'as ever been dare, und Suna, for wit or witout da village dare is a Suna, will need ta know about da conditions in these ruins. It would be too shellfish of me to 'ave you come along."

She got closer to Kokuei and as she did she undid her patchwork blouse enough to reveal her cleavage. Though that too is an old habit she had not completely kicked, this was not actually a seduction attempt, as she pulled out the vial that she had kept tucked safely be her heart with a tannish liquid inside. "Dare is another way you can 'elp me though. Inside dis shot is a cure for da disease dat nearly claimed me clan. Da twins' biology is probably too unstable date a direct injection wouldn't cure dem of da disease, but it would prolong it, and so long as I keep Airisu alive, Yuriko will 'old out as well." She was confident of that prognosis considering that what she held wasn't one of her homemade, and rather failed, attempts at a cure that had failed to take to the blood cultures she had previously drawn from the twins, but instead was the real deal, a prize won by her through a leap in time. "It's all I 'ave, and it isn't even a full dose, but'll be enough to buy me some time if given to Airisu before she worsens. Back at da prison you used a seal date affected da guards memory. Could you do the same ta me?"

"Each Megami 'ave certain memory slots date we use to store genetic data and analyze it, but wit each new sample we take, an old one is replaced. If you could lock 'alf me slots, 'alf of me doujutsu, I could 'old onto da coding for the formula in my mind, and use what I 'ave here to 'elp Airisu." If he agreed to it, Akiko would activate her doujutsu, the Idenshigan, and relieve the syringe enough to cause a drop to form on its injecting tip. Tilting her head back and using her free hand to pry open the eyelid to her right socket, she'd shoot the formula back like an eye drop for the most direct method of sampling gathering straight into her genetic slots. She had know what of really knowing if Kokuei was capable of locking a memory simply because he was able to erasing them, but she now trusted this man with her life and for that had full faith in him.

The Nara smiled at Akiko as she thanked Kokuei for his comments. Scientists like themselves needed to stick together.

"You're right." Kokuei rubbed the back of his neck. "You can't wait any longer to find that Megami girl. Is there something I could do to possibly help?" He wanted to assist Akiko in whatever way possible. Her next mission was incredibly risky and dangerous. Without some form of help, Kokuei couldn't see his green friend coming back alive.

As Akiko approached Kokuei he took a step back, rubbing his hands together thanks to anxiety. An underground tunnel system wasn't exactly Kokuei's first choice for-- "Oh."

Bringing a single hand up to his mouth, Kokuei lightly chewed on his finger. "I've always wondered how those eyes work. Memory slots, huh?"

To be honest, Kokuei was very unsure if he could do what she requested. However, he didn't want to let her down. This was all Kokuei could do to help her, so, he would. It would require to modify his fuuinjutsu on the fly, but he had plenty of experience with seals. He would do it for her. Between feeling so... evil inside, and having lost his home and brother, Kokuei was feeling suicidal lately. If it hadn't been for Akiko, who knows what dark road he may have turned down. Akiko did more for Kokuei than she would ever know.

"Yes. That sounds like something I could feasibly do." He waited for Akiko to finish putting the liquid inside her eye before taking a step toward her. "I can lock that memory, the lost, for the formula. I'll have to make it very... specific, or else you'll forget a bit more than just the formula. If you find yourself forgetting seconds or moments of time from the past half hour, try not to go prying at your memory. Or else you'll break the seal." There may be other side effects, but Kokuei really had no idea what they could be. This was another experiment for the Nara, and he wasn't completely sure what would happen.

How exciting.

Placing a tag just above Akiko's eyes, Kokuei formed a series of hand signs. Pressing his palm against the paper seal, a single shadow tendril rose from the ground and touched Akiko's temple. Of course, it was doing more than just touching. The tiniest, tiniest bit of the tendril had submerged itself into Akiko's brain through shadow chakra.

The Memory Loss jutsu was partially used to lock the memory of the formula. And, a modified version of the Brain of Shadows technique acted as sort of a "border" for the memory, preventing access even through Akiko's Idenshigan. Kokuei had double locked the memory, essentially.

Stumbling back, Kokuei removed the tag before leaning against the wall of the channel. "Okay. It should be all set. You can't remember the formula, can you? Just don't try too hard." Kokuei was mentally crossing his fingers, hoping for no side effects. Though, if there were any, there was no telling when they would arise. Hopefully he could remove the seals before anything bad happened.

"This adventure is made possible by generations of searchers strictly adhering to a simple set of rules; test ideas by experiment and observation, build on those ideas that past the test, reject the ones that fail. Follow the evidence wherever it leads, and question... everything. Accept these terms, and the cosmos is yours..."
