The Tournaments

While the formats of these tournaments should be familiar to many, there are a few new changes that are sure to bring out the best in each fighter.

The World Championships [WC]B-rank+

Description: The World Championships has a setup that we are all aware of and familiar with. A number of contestants will fight one another in a set number of seeds. The winner of each battle will advance to the next seed until there is a single victor. There are no general rules or guidelines for this tournament beyond the usual [no GMing, metagaming, powerplaying, etc]. The World Championships are open to B-rank (Chuunin equivalent) fighters and above, however S-ranks are generally not allowed to participate in this due to having a tournament of their own.
Descision: Each battle will be decided by a moderator, chosen before the match.

The Junior World Championships [JWC] C-rank

Description: The Junior World Championships has a comparable setup that we are all aware of and familiar with. A number of contestants will fight one another in a set number of seeds. The winner of each battle will advance to the next seed until there is a single victor. There are no general rules or guidelines for this tournament beyond the usual [no GMing, metagaming, powerplaying, etc]. The World Championships are open to C-rank (Genin equivalent) fighters.
Descision:Each battle will be decided by a moderator, chosen before the match.

The League of Legends [LOL]S-rank

Description: The League of Legends has a setup that we are all aware of and familiar with. A number of contestants will fight one another in a set number of seeds. The winner of each battle will advance to the next seed until there is a single victor. There are no general rules or guidelines for this tournament beyond the usual [no GMing, metagaming, powerplaying, etc]. Within these matches only the best of the best (S-rank only) are allowed, and special precautions will be taken to protect the audience. Larger version of the arenas are also available and common in these types of matches.
Descision: Each battle will be decided by a moderator, chosen before the match.

The Arenas
While four of the Arenas names should be familiar to previous participants, the three new arenas have been added to present even more unique challenges to the participants.

Air [40 x 70 x 70]:

The Air Arena is a forty by seventy foot rectangle with sides the come to a height of seventy feet. The participants may not exit this area or they are subject to disqualification. Within this rectangle there is a small rectangle that is situated ten feet off the ground. This rectangle, composed of mostly hardened steel, is situated on five steel pillars. On top of this rectangle there are a number of wooden poles that are about six inches in radius and eight feet tall. The participants will start on these wooden poles. Further than these wooden poles there are four more wooden poles at each of the corners of the arena. They are twenty feet tall and are about nine inches in radius. IN the World tournament version of this Arena, the metal rectangle is removed, revealing a bed of razor sharp spikes to prevent participants from "Camping" at the bottom.

Earth [70 x 100 x 20]:

The Earth Arena is, essentially, a cave. The cave will be one-hundred feet long, seventy feet wide, and twenty feet tall. The cave will be enclosed on all sides, save for the entrance and exit doors which appear at opposite ends of the arena. The participants will not be allowed to exit from either end, but are allowed to use the earth as they will. This cave is also torch lit creating a certain dynamic that will increase the participants awareness that they are indeed in a cave. The tight quarters will force participants to think more creatively and strategically. The cave is mostly soft earth mixed with harder patches of earth that will be more comparable to metal in hardness. The world tournament version of this cave includes a higher ceiling covered in stalactites.

Fire [50 x 50 x 70]:

The Fire Arena is a fifty foot by fifty foot square. The height of the arena will be seventy feet. The participants will be forced, essentially, to battle on a mine field. Explosives notes will lace the bottom of the arena and will be undetectable to all Kekkei Genkai and other sensory mechanisms [use your imagination]. The participants will have knowledge that the field is laced with explosive tags but they will not have knowledge of where. The tags will be activated on any type of impact and the participant will have to avoid the explosion if possible. Most tags will be about ten feet from one another in all directions on a simple grid, to allow participants to imagine where another explosive note might be. In the Junior World tournament the explosive notes have been replaced with high powered smoke bombs for safety measures. An effective use of the arena will grant the participant "brownie points" in the eyes of the moderator.

Water [70 x 70 x 20]:

The Water Arena is a seventy foot by seventy foot square pool. The depth of the arena is twenty feet and the height of the arena is seventy feet. Sitting a top of the pool will be a floating barge that will be thirty feet by thirty feet. The barge will be primarily made of wood with metal fastenings. The participants will be forced to work in close quarters or use the surrounding water to their advantage. The Water Arena will be entirely closed within thick glass and the participants may not exit this area, though they may latch onto the walls if it is appropriate.

Lightning [50 x 50 x 70]:

The Lightning Arena is a fifty foot by fifty foot square made of five foot metal squares. The height of the arena will be seventy feet asnd also covered in those squares. The participants will be forced, essentially, to battle on a giant elecrical grid. Electricity producing notes will lace the bottom of random 5 by 5 plates and will be undetectable to all Kekkei Genkai and other sensory mechanisms [use your imagination]. The participants will have knowledge that the field is electro sensitive but they will not have knowledge of where. The plates will be activated on any type of impact and the participant will be subject to the adverse effects of mild electric shock. An effective use of the arena will grant the participant "brownie points" in the eyes of the moderator. The world tournament version includes tags that vary between a more high powered shock or a longer duration.

Bridge [65 x 80 x 60]:

The Bridge Arena is a sixty-five by eighty foot rectangle with sides the come to a height of seventy feet. The participants may not exit this area or they are subject to disqualification. The arena consists of two 80 ft long bridges, 10 ft across, parallel of each other very high above the ground. Between each bridge is a fifteen foot gap. In the world tournament version if a participant is knocked off the bridge they will fall from a incredibly high altitude and risk having their body smashed against the hard, flat earth. In the junior version there is a net to prevent death though the fall is still significant.

The Courtyard [70 x 70 x 5]:
This arena is a 70 foot wide square elevated five feet from the ground. The Courtyard features a stone fighting area, an audience, and a throne upon which the host and judges sits and officiates. A simple arena it holds no unusual traps or pitfalls, it is the ultimate hand to hand fighting arena.

Instead of the special matches being only for the losers, why not have the special matches as the main tournament matches.
Randomly assign what type each pairing will participate in.
Would be much more entertaining than regular battles.
Actually tempted to join and lose on purpose so I could have a special match/challenge.
