"No cheating," he murmured softly, knowing all too well that her senses weren't going to be heavily impacted by cutting off her vision. Lifting Omoi into his arms and moving to the window, he braced one leg upon the edge, looking down and softly brushing his lips upon her forehead.
"Just focus on my heart beat... don't want to spoil anything."
A surge of chakra into his feet as he kicked free of the window sent the two soaring high into the air, easily clearing the remainder of the HQ. A low surge of fuuton sent them into a steep dive down the mountain side, rushing towards Kumogakure below. Unable to keep an excited grin from his face, Otoha finally spread his wings, sharply catching the air and sending them forward at a sudden angle. Months ago, such a manouver would have left his back aching for days, but that was the upside to having developed such a sturdy body; it took a lot to do some damage.
The slow, steady beat of his wings sounded through the otherwise silent night as he soared over the city. Omoi had probably already guessed where they were going, it was their favorite spot, after all. He'd made some changes in the past week, however; enlisting the help of one of his contacts who was skilled with fuuinjutsu to put a ward around the entire waterfall had been the smallest of which. The small, temporary sigil inked into his wrist flared up and faded away as they flew over the barrier's threshold, granting them entry. From below, a sudden glow of light; the barrier had been set up to not only keep others out, but to provide the illusion that nothing had changed. On the inside, however, the area was practically glowing, millions of spheres of light floating freely within the barrier's confines, the result of day's worth of chakra being set loose. Seeing it now, with the sky still dark, he felt that it had been worth going home practically exhausted for the better part of a week.
Coming to a soft halt on the shore by the water, he released his wings and lightly set Omoi down, quickly glancing around the area. A few Taiyon spheres had gotten stuck within the branches of nearby trees, but the effect looked nice, like a swarm of lightning bugs. In a clearing not far from the water, where a break in the trees allowed a stunning view of Kumogakure in the direction of the sunrise, which was still a while off, he had set up a few blankets and the like, for comfort while they waited for the sunrise. Smiling, he reached out and slid the blindfold away from his beloved's eyes.
"Happy birthday, Omoi."
