Great Tsu Plot Experiment

PROLOGUE (You can skip this part if you want)

A long time ago, I used to run about 12 threads at a time. That's a lot of RPing with a lot of different people! And it was fun.

However, when people RP with me (that aren't Dys) I tend to be the workhorse. People expect me to drag their characters through amazing stories, letting my plothat do all the work. And for a long time, this was fine by me. It let me practice a lot of cool ideas and situations, and I had a lot of fun doing it.

But as my time grows shorter, my novel writing gets bigger, and other parts of my life change, this became less like fun and more like work. I needed people that actually contributed to the plots I was writing, so when I joined Dys, it was a happy, beautiful experience.

The problem is, I kinda liked teaching people through my threads back in the day. A lot of people have become better writers by observing and experiencing the threads. Many people around here have become pretty static and stagnant in their writing abilities, and while I know the tricks to help improve them, I don't really have the time to walk them through a thread to show them.

So that's when I had this new idea.

THEORY (you should probably read this part)

My current theory is that any RPer here could run a successful Dys-like multi-thread arc if they had the correct outline to follow.

A great deal of the discussion work we do as a team has to do with outlining the major plot points and the intricacies, not so much about the details of each post. Even a simple outline would be enough structure for RPers to use, change, color, decorate and modify in order to get them through a complete arc. Without a lot of guesswork of "what comes next?" RPers would have the required confidence and motivation to keep going, making a better writer.

And a better writer means a better board for all of us!

HOW IT WILL WORK (this is the most important bit)

1. Two teams of three players will sign up for this.

2. All of the characters will be new Genin. It won't work if you try to jam your uberleetOPMegaJounin from before into it.

3. Each team will receive a plot outline. You can choose to create your characters before or after you see the outline, doesn't matter to me.

4. Each team will follow their plot outline, divided by thread, and see if they can complete an entire, connected "arc."

5. One team will be a control team. Only I know what this means, but this is supposed to be a (pseudo) scientific thing, so I need a control team. Don't worry, you won't even know you're the control team! You'll still have a beautiful outline to work with and should have al ot of fun!

6. I'll suggest that the teams do this in Suna, since I have the power to hand out rank-ups there, but it won't be mandatory.

7. Teams need to commit. This won't work if you're a Flakey Flakerson. You don't have to post a billion times a day, but you need to be willing to keep moving it forward.

ARE YOU INTERESTED? (please tell me before I waste my time doing a bunch of work)

Well, are you?

Yo.

I need to try new characters anyways and I have a few ideas. This should be the perfect chance for it.

If you fall down seven times, stand up eight.

Although I have some pride in making my own plot-lines, especially on-the-fly in many cases, I guess I'll give this a go myself, too. It may be the best way to give my new Suna characters some spotlight, anyway... as long as this will work out with me using both of my characters in the same threads. It'd be hard to separate the two, what with their history and character specific plot-line already in development...

SCIENCE!

This looks like it could work really well, I hope it does. I'll definitely be watching.

Woah I just saw a kid being sent to his room when Tsu said no to Kaidan.

I laughed.

Also! Tsu, shouldn't the title be something like "The Great Tsuperiment plot!"?

I've never made a Suna nin, and I oh so rarely make a clanless nin. I'm interested.
