Six Battle Types

PostPosted by Tsuneo » Sun May 13, 2012 1:39 am

Just something I threw together. Basically, all battles can be defined into these categories: who is stronger, and are they taking the battle seriously.

Comments welcome, since this was just off the top of my head and would like to improve it.

Curious: do you mean battles on NC, in anime/television, or both (as our battles can be influenced by media)?

It's more like, how to generalize a battle when you're trying to write one.

This doesn't work for NC-competition battles where you're trying to beat the other guy without a preset winner.

This is for when you're just writing battles and you know what you want to do, but aren't sure what the "type" or "tone" should be. Recently we had some Dys situations where one of us wasn't sure if a quick, direct destruction of the enemy (the "character is stronger/take battle seriously" grid) wasn't epic enough. This sorta helps you figure it out on the most basic, general level.
