Death of a Hero [KUMOVENT]

[ \Sakura Hiroba | Kamiza | Yomi/ ]
The capital city of Raikou no Kuni, nestled between mountain peaks in the center of the country. Its altitude and location lead to common snowfall, though it is not necessarily cold throughout the year, clear days often leading to be as warm as summer. At the southern end of this star-shaped city lies a great stone bridge spanning a large lake, connecting to the road back down to the rest of the world. The home of both the Daimyo and Kamiza, the Onigami Compounds.

As the last seal was scratched into the wall, Ian steeped back, taking a look at his work. 20 feet of pure Fuuinjutsu that he never in his imagination would have been able to do on his own. It was only through his programming as a sleeper agent that he could carfully write out such a seal, but what did the seal do?

What indeed.

Just like that, Ian collapsed into a puddle of what looked like tar, which slowly faded into nothingness.

Elsewhere in the battlefield, Osen was wreaking havoc on the enemy troops in a way only a jinchuuriki could. Partially transformed, her chakra cloak had taken the lives of almost a dozen people, burning their bodies beyond recognition and causing the enemies to target her, forgetting that she was not alone, and that though it was quite the opposite of normal, she had the entire village behind her. Group after group of invaders fell before them, poison fog and corrosive chakra weakening them to a barrage of kunai and shuriken, and leaving them open for the devestating ninjutsu attacks that seemed to always come from nowhere. With one dedicated lightning strike, the enemy forces on that block decided it was better to try and attack somewhere else, and so they retreated, but Kumo would show no quarter, and the shinobi followed them, making a vow to leave no survivors.

Osen sat down on the ground, her cloak slowly fading away. She was out of breath, her muscles were burning, and she was covered in a multitude of fluids she didn't even want to try and think about. She would get up in a few seconds, after she caught her breath, continue their counter assult. Take back the city, she would do all of this, or at least she had planned on it.

A darkness quickly overtook her, sending her into a full panic. Behind her, Ian had crept up, disguised as just another Kumo shinobi, and had managed to catch her off guard. He was silent and accurate, catchingher directly in the back of the head with a punch, disrupting the chakra in her head so much that she went blind for a few seconds. As she fell forwards, grasping for something she felt something cover her mouth and in the midst of her struggles she breathed in enough chemicals to knock her out cold. She had been saving the day, but in reality, no one would miss her until it was too late. heaving her over his shoulder, Ian made his way to what had once been the gates.

She had a date with destiny, and he was her chauffeur.

Onigami Kagerou, the Dragonfly. As far as Ryuhou was aware, it was a pseudonym, the name adopted much in the same manner as the intricate dragon tattooing stretching up the young samurai's arm, ending with a ferocious expression upon his back. Both had likely been taken to impress Kenshin... and both had evidently worked. He looked to be no more than three or four years older than Ryuhou himself, probably early twenties... his aura was nothing impressive. A nobody leeching off of a superior specimen, then.

Rather than free one of his twin blades from their positions at his hips, Ryuhou reached over his shoulder, grasping Kizoku's extended hilt. With an exhalation of the breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding in since the Captain's arrival, the white-haired samurai struck, launching himself forward, back into the fury of combat. Swinging the greatsword about with ease, he began to lay waste into the Onigami that had gathered, for the most part using the obscene strength granted by Soiboshi to simply tear through guard and flesh alike, sending those who held up under his assault flying with sheer force into the nearest buildings. Those he knocked back would survive to attack in another wave, but they'd be stunned, for the moment. Reacting on instinct to an assault coming from the left, Ryuhou dropped into a crouch, swinging Kizoku about in a onehanded grip even while he drew Shisome halfway free of her sheath, catching the incoming attack upon the flat of her blade. Kizoku's fatal arc continued, tearing through flesh and bone alike to tear the poor bastard in half. Pushing forward while his flow persisted, Ryuhou leaped into the air, flipping forward before bringing Kizoku down in a two handed, enhanced slash, intent on using Ekieboshi to take out the Vice Captain out in a single blow.

It didn't seem as if Kagerou had moved, and yet... Kizoku impacted with something, and in the moment before he found himself abruptly flying backwards through the air, bleeding from a shallow wound upon his right thigh, Ryuhou had enough time to take notice of an odd energy coming from the Vice Captain, a malignant aura far different from the harmless field he had noticed at first. His back struck bricks, and the samurai fell to the ground. Using Kizoku as a crutch, he at least managed to land in a crouch. Kagerou slowly approached, smiling his odd smile.

Save for the flames, the lower levels remained utterly dark, the normally impressive attack seeming almost insignificant for the oppressive blackness pressing in from every side. For the most fleeting of moments, Otoha would be illuminated by the flames, one eye inhumanly wide and entirely black, save for a crimson, cat-like pupil vertically splitting the abyssal orb. A black mass could be seen spreading across his flesh before the flames seemed to consume his body, more solid in appearance than Ryuuchi's intricate scales. A low laugh, and a sudden burst, Fuuton chakra actually channeled through his flesh in the moments before the armor completed forming in order to supercharge the Katon assault to the point of explosion.

And through the flames, he would strike, overly think armor melting away into the normal form, excess mass gathering around his right hand in the form of an over sized obsidian blade, cruelly curved like a scythe. There would be time for toying around, for tricks and all the interesting little games ninja could play later. Right now? Right now, Otoha just wanted to beat this f.ucker's face in.

Spoiler:
Name: Heavy Armor
Rank: C-A
Range: Supplementary
Jutsu Type: Kekkei Genkai
Elemental Affinity: None
Clan: The Blades of Fate

Description:
In this form, the user's armor doubles in thickness, almost resembling plate armor, or something of a similar thickness. Unlike in the Blade Armor technique, where the user is simply converting mass into a different form, in this technique mass is actually increased, without the breakdown of another. To cover for this, the user is forced to lock away a portion of their chakra until the technique is released or until the shift into another form; to be specific, the chakra that grants them their heightened physical abilities. So, while they would have much stronger defense, their speed and power would be equal to their actual skills as a shinobi of their own rank, rather than boosted beyond their natural levels. The defensive abilities granted by this form of armor are strong against most forms of slashing or piercing damage, due to the thickness of the armor. Against a sufficiently powerful blunt attack, or a blow putting a significant amount of stress on one small focal point, however, the armor would be much weaker. This form can typically survive most non-focused or piercing attacks of ranks equal, one level greater, or lower than the armor's ranking without being damaged to any significant extent. However, against focused blunt or piercing attacks, the following formula applies:

C Rank Armor:

-C ranked technique: Can stand against three consecutive C Rank attacks
-B ranked technique: Can stand against one attack before breaking

B Rank Armor:

-B ranked technique: Can stand against three consecutive B Rank attacks
-A ranked technique: Can stand against one attack before breaking

A Rank Armor:

-A ranked technique: Can stand against three consecutive A Rank attacks
-S ranked technique: Can stand against one attack before breaking

Name: Blade Armor
Rank: C
Range: Supplementary
Jutsu Type: Kekkei Genkai
Elemental Affinity: None
Clan: The Blades of Fate

Description:
When in this form, the user's armor is thinned significantly, almost by half; this gives it the appearance of a very light, although still solid armor. It has the consistency and look of black leather, although it is still clearly composed of an otherworldly metal, and is several times stronger than leather. Due to the armor's thinning, mobility is increased, making this the current fastest form for a Blade short of an actual transit based technique. The mass that is released by thinning the armor is kept on "standby", staying within the chakra pool granted by their bloodline for summoning the armor. It can be relocated back onto the user's armor in the form of small blades which sprout up wherever the user wishes on the armor. These blades can be up to a hundred in number, but they would be very small, less than that of a single prong from a kunai. These blades can in turn themselves be sacrificed; less blades means those that remain are larger in size. Alternatively, the user can opt to avoid all blade use in general, instead focusing on maintaining the light armor for purely defensive purposes. Regenerating any broken blades costs an additional C-Rank's worth of chakra, and a span of one post dedicated to regeneration.

When using this technique, the wielder is allowed three forms of use. For the first, they simply use the armor as armor itself, not making use of any of the blades it allows. For the second, they are capable of creating one to two longer blades, no matter if only one is used, or two, the limit is one meter in length, with the thickness of about three inches. The third method of use allows the user to extend smaller blades; each resembling the blade of a kunai, and measuring two inches in length. Up to one hundred of the smaller blades can be formed; each is stationary and rather solidly stuck to the armor.

Name: Heavy Blade
Rank: C
Range: Supplementary
Jutsu Type: Kekkei Genkai
Elemental Affinity: None
Clan: The Blades of Fate

Description:
This form is quite unlike the previous techniques, which focus on their armor itself, and its thickness. For the Heavy Blade form, the user sacrifices the entirety of their armor, aside from a very thin layer covering them from head to toe, which simply serves to mask their identity; it provides no actual defensive properties, and can be voided entirely if the user so chooses. The mass that had been freed up by the elimination of all other armor is instead focused on the arm of the user's choice, creating a gauntlet-like covering from hand to shoulder. From the area of their hand, a large blade extends to both sides, moving both up towards their shoulder, and down towards the ground, giving them the appearance of having a massive cleaver growing from their arm, or a scythe blade. Due to the lack of armor covering the user, their movement speed is heavily boosted. However, due to the majority of their weight being focused on one arm, attack speed itself is lowered. This does lend a significant increase to the force of a blow, however. The blade carries no special properties, aside from its durability; due to being formed via a Blade's armor, it would last much longer in combat than a standard metal counterpart. The length of the blade at its longest depends on the height of the wielder; generally the back curve of the blade reaches just below head level, while the tip will trail just above the ground. The longer a blade is, the more thin in dimension it is; while the thickness of the blade itself will resemble that of an axe, making shattering it difficult, a shorter blade might be as horizontally thick as a claymore, while a longer one might taper away to a rapier's thickness at the tip.

And amidst all the chaos, a malformed figure, an odd black mass in the shape of something would explode free of the wall to Maya's right, a mass about her size taking her in a two-armed grip before continuing onward, simply smashing through every wall in its path. While the child would struggle, the figure would show no weakness, no sympathy or even awareness that she was fighting to be free. An unstoppable mass, it would continue on its way through the hospital and out of the village, doing what it could to avoid using the poor child as a battering ram.
Push your care, push your burdens aside, erase everything inside and leave just one thing on your mind.

A foot hovered over the edge of the massive ship, several thousand feet down lied chaos and tragedy.

"Interesting..."

The man had no family here, not on board at least. He'd explored as much of the family dynamic between humans as he'd could and found it to be rather...boring. Yet, he still had this curiosity that clawed at him, perhaps in the twenty plus years of his absence his son had grown into someone interesting. The ship rumbled with a bout of turbulence listing ever so slightly as the bumps passed, Ryu plummeted overboard. He counted the number of clouds as he fell, if he remembered correctly his old home had seen an average of anywhere from seventy to a hundred clouds on any given day. There were many more tonight however, altocumulus clouds always did present a challenge, traveling in numbers well into the thousands. His time with the clouds though was soon over. After a few passing seconds he fell through the blanketing layer of startocumulus clouds preventing him from counting any further.

The man felt as his skin turned coarse, his pale complexion fading into a deep stony grey as he allowed his true form to overtake the one he'd been presenting in front of his old comrades. Only a thousand feet left in his descent Ryu finished his transformation, two great wings the same color as his skin turning his fall into flight. Long hair, a shade less than black but not brown covered the greater portion of his face. Only a smile could be seen as he passed over the village below, banking a left Ryu altered his course for another village.

Mura no Kyūsai, the Village of Saviors...

The hurried shuffling of old men never bode well.

Great oaken doors gave way to the exhausting efforts of two of the elders of the Kyūsaisha clan, the rest pouring in as soon as there was room to pass. Like ants they gathered around his desk, taking up the entirety of his field of view. Their faces were grim, though the young man wasn't so certain that wasn't their natural state.

"This must be dire to interrupt the paperwork you've drowned me in since my return. Even after my resignation as clan liaison you've still got me working as if I were. The principle of decentralization this clan was founded on is losing itself quickly."

One of the old men stepped forth,

"We don't have time for the whining of a small child who was never weaned off the teat! The Hidden Village is under attack!"

Kousei's brow furrowed in a myriad of emotions, mostly frustration with a tad of anger, contempt, and sad thrown into the mix.

"Then I suppose we don't have time for the rantings of old men either. What would you have me do? I command our people no more than you do."

"That's shit and you know it!"

Ryujin, that was the old man's name if he remembered correctly, probably named in honor of Kousei's father.

"You've been leading this clan since you were a child! Decentralization hasn't existed since the beginning, it was some fancy notion your father wanted and we all nodded our heads. No, this has been a monarchy for quite some time and it's time you lead for once. I mean you were Raikage once even! At the age of sixteen no less! Lead damnit! Lead us into war!"

Half the faces of the old men grimaced as the other half gave raspy shouts in support of Ryujin's decision. Kousei let the suggestion hang in the air for a moment to allow the gravity of the remark sink in. There were no objections to be made it would seem, at least not openly he noted the other men's sour expressions.

"Very well, then we march. Gather all our men into groups based on specialty I want to stagger our forces to make sure we overwhelm our enemy. It'll take more than just Ryujin to do this, all you other men who rallied with him go help him. Also you can tell the damn Tsūki sect I don't give a rat's ass about beauty sleep."

The women slept so often he'd sometimes wonder if Inemuri spent time roaming around that particular section of the village. Ryujin and his cronies shuffled out to go wake their sons and their son's sons for war. The other half of men remained in his presence, a growing tension permeating the air around them as they stood in silence for a few moments.

"Great Grandfather..."

Kousei broke the silence, speaking to the frail stick of a man that headed the group that had remained. The old man wasn't actually a Kyūsaisha but a Kyūten, his father's grandfather and part of an old noble Raikou no Kuni family. Kousei was unsure of just how old he was but one thing that apparently hadn't passed with time was the level of respect he demanded from the people around him. They could've sat there all night and not a word would've passed until he'd addressed the old man first.

"You appear to seek another course of action."

Kousei finished his initial address in the hopes of getting the counsel with over with quickly.

"I do, I believe it is in our best interest to join the attack on the Hidden Cloud Village."

The young man's eyebrows shot up in surprise.

"Would you care to repeat that Great Grandfather? It seems my hearing's gone before yours."

"You heard me boy." The man spat the last word out for emphasis.

"That village may claim to be an empire but what outside of our own lands have we conquered? Hm? No those people have grown complacent and weak, now is the time to toss them aside. You've already shown you're willing to march to war, now let's march against the right enemy. We can put our people in charge and create a true empire for the Land of Lightning and it's people."

'Put our people in charge' Kousei thought to himself, that's all those men really wanted, more status and power.

"We've already readied our own forces to march against the village. If we use this initial strike as a gateway we can pour over the village forces and then decimate the invading force."

Kousei stared at his great grandfather before turning his gaze towards the men with him. The support of three of the clan's religious sect leaders was no laughing matter. The Yoroshii and Yakunan sect amongst them had been little surprise, despite the stark differences in personality the sects were rarely apart from one another in large decisions. The third leader amongst them struck a blow of agony even Kousei had to smirk a little, the Metsubou sect, the part of the clan that worshiped the Seraph housed within his own body. He could change their minds easily if he would part with the information but Kousei wasn't ready for that kind of attention, not yet.

"What if I were to decline your suggestion Great Grandfather? What would happen then?"

Kousei stood and met the old man's glower, each one staring the other down.

"Then it would be a great tragedy Great Grandson, the tale of how the Kyūsaisha clan cleaved itself in twine in a single night."

"I'll miss you sorely Great Grandfather."

The old man swallowed whatever he had planned to say next, instead leading his posse out of the room as quickly as they'd came in. It would've been simple, striking down a few old men and preventing the slaughter that was now about to happen. How would he have explained that to his people then? How would he have been able to hold the clan together in the midst of his of a mass murder wrought of his own hands. Still the war within a war would not start here, not even the old men would dare risk their hides attempting to lead a coup where there soldiers could still reach out and touch them. No they'd give their order once they were all engaged in battle against the first enemy. Kousei called for a steward to fetch the old man Ryujin, he couldn't stop it but perhaps he could still mitigate their damage.

It had been barely an hour between the time the word had reached Mura no Kyūsai that Kumogakure no Sato was under attack and the Kyūsaisha had mobilized and were moving into the fray of things. The kenjutsu users, the true kenjutsu users of the clan had been the first to attack. Perched on the mountain side several hundreds of yards above the village they'd opened fire upon large pockets of enemies within the village. Their great blades and bullets carried death and devastation on a scale like no other specialty within the clan, but it came at a high price of blood.

After the attack had begun Kokuo's section had been sent in, the weaponry specialists of the clan. The smell of iron filled the air as blood flowed in the thousands of gallons, the life of each member becoming death for their enemies. 'Igata' was the signature technique of the weaponry specialists within the clan. The art of 'Molding' the metal they extracted from their blood to become any weapon they so desired. Where once had been men with arms covered in red now stood men armed to the teeth with blades, maces, knives, kunai, shuriken, and amongst the more classical of the bunch, bullets. Kokuo himself held a claymore with no hilt, there was no ornamentation or leather binding nor any extra feature to decorate their weapons. Life was precious, blood was precious, their metal was precious, nothing else was needed to make their weapons worthwhile.

'The blood one enemy spills is the blood you paid to spill it. Make sure they're forces are indebted to you.'

Kokuo felt the tip of his blade sink into a man's chest, the air escaping his lungs sucked the sword even deeper. The feeling was nauseating, the young man vomited over himself as he drew the sword out of the man. It had been the first time he'd ever killed someone...

"Well, at least I've broken even now..."

Kokuo swung at the next man that lunged at him, lobbing an arm off this time with the great blade. He grimaced as he watched the man fall in agony, his arm landing a number of feet away. Kokuo paused to look the people around him as his stomach churned in protest again, none of it felt right. Things seemed to be going their way far too easily, more experienced members of his group were stopping and noticing as well. As men rushed them haphazardly they swathed a path through them, each one falling as easily as the last. Finally one of their own fell, a hole clean through his chest that had nearly left the man in two. Kokuo stared in horror as he watched man touch the edge of it before stumbling over.

"Take cover!"

A jounin shouted over the roar of the surrounding ongoing battles.

'I hate being right...'

Kokuo thought to himself as he hurried inside a building whose door had been busted down.

Re: Death of a Hero [KUMOVENT]

PostPosted by Ryuuchi » Tue Sep 04, 2012 4:19 pm

Ryuuchi's wings immediately covered his body again once the explosion created by Otoha using his own flames took place, but he never lost track of the younger opponent. Otoha's blade was formed and swung at him, however it was met with Ryuuchi's wing, blocking the strong blade without scratching it, however the impact alone made the ground bellow Ryuuchi's feet crack, nothing he couldn't handle.

Ryuuchi wasted no time, immediately after the blade hit the scales in his wing shifted around and launched themselves toward Otoha's blade. A single scale was enough to begin Ryuuchi's Kurotesshin, the scales would multiply, quickly covering the blade completely and keeping it connected with Ryuuchi's wing...eventually the scales would spread to Otoha's body, completely incasing him in the darkness which Ryuuchi would immediately harden and turn Otoha into a living statue.

However Ryuuchi wouldn't wait so long, as the scales spread to Otoha's blade he was already taking a deep breath. The wing move down and turn, pushing Otoha's body along with it and turning so he would remain open for Ryuuchi's next attack, a near point blank Rairyuu no Houkou. Normally he would have used much more powerful techniques but two problems followed those in that situation...first his body hadn't fully recovered yet and secondly, too much damage down where they were at and the hospital could go down before the evacuation was complete...though at that range an attack like that would still be very much fatal.

Spoiler:
Name: Kurotesshin (Black Iron Core)
Rank: B-Rank
Range: Close to Long
Jutsu Type: Kekkei Genkai
Elemental Affinity: N/A
Clan: Kirinketsu Clan
Description: This is a technique used by the Kirinketsu clan members, using the ability of manipulating scales. The user will remove a scale or a piece of their scales and throw them or placing them on the target's body. After the scale sticks to the target's body it will start multiply and covering the target's body. The user can do a multitude of things once it covers the target's body or a part of their body like controlling the scales allowing the user to control that part of the body, or make them harder taking away the ability for them to move.

Name: Rairyuu no Houkou (Lightning Dragon's Roar)
Rank: C/B-Rank
Range: Close to Mid
Jutsu Type: Kekkei Genkai
Elemental Affinity: Any
Clan: Kirinketsu Clan
Description: The Kirinketsu Clan's ability to use their own elements while in dragon form instead of the usual fire breath. It's actually a pretty simple technique to use once one has grasped the concept of fire breathing while in Senryuutai. The user begins by gathering elemental chakra while they take a deep breath as they do when breathing fire, however as they breathe out instead of flames, their element will be released in the basic form of the attack they would use with fire. solid elements like earth, metal and so on will be released in a form of tornado filled with debris of that specific element. The power and chakra used varies, the more chakra used, the strong the attack can be, of course with a limit. Chuunin+ clan members are capable of using this technique while in Ryuukotai. [X]

A body suddenly shot up from the rubble of what remained of the house Kenshin had been thrown into, but it wasn't the captain but what looked like a dead mercenary that was probably caught inside when the house was destroyed. This distraction proved to be quite effective, Ichigo's eyes followed the corpse for a second before shifting back down to try and catch the sight of Kenshin, but what he was was the captain's shoulder slam against his chest. Kenshin's shoulder hit Ichigo hard in the chest, but not enough to send him flying back...it was intentional. The captain quickly initiated a well known technique of the White Tiger style Amefuriboshi, his arm looped around Ichigo and his hand grabbed the rogue Onigami's collar, quickly followed by a leg trip and forcing Ichigo's body to fall forward while Kenshin swung his cleaver like blade up toward his face.
Ichigo acted on instinct, his body already remembering how to block the attack...his blades move quickly before the swing reached him, forming a cross in front of his head. However the swing was so powerful that in that position his arms were not enough to keep the blade back, forcing him to literally headbutt his own swords to stop the attack. Ichigo immediately forced the blade back and aimed a strong hit with the back of his sword at Kenshin's face, an attack that was easily avoided but made the captain free Ichigo.

He jumped back at the same time as Kenshin, blood began flowing from his forehead down his face and reaching his lips. Ichigo's eyes never left his opponent but his hand moved up to check the blood running down his face, it wasn't much, just a thin line but it seemed to make something click in Ichigo's mind. Or maybe perhaps it wasn't the blood, perhaps it was something else he had longed for a few years, the feeling of a strong and deadly opponent that could kill him should he not take things seriously. Kenshin was a true captain worthy of his rank, a man from the older generation of Onigami leaders before fools like Satomi or overconfident idiots like the twins joined them at the top.

The glare Ichigo's eyes were giving out soften as his lungs take in a deep breath. His black hilted sword swings once and returns to the sheath and Ichigo's stance lowered, his muscles relaxing. This sudden shift in posture and presence made Kenshin's smiling face become stern and serious. Both of them displayed their Kage at that moment, the displaying not lasting more than a couple of seconds however the two images made the Onigami and mercs around them stop and stare, on one side was the image of the Shinigami while on the other was a silver eastern dragon. The images vanished when both charged forward.

Ichigo was much faster than Kenshin who focused on pure power, his first swing was a diagonal one, aimed to cut Kenshin from right shoulder to left hip. The captain moved to block but Ichigo's blade suddenly shifted directions and he only had enough time to move his head and torso back, avoiding Ichigo's Tasukiboshi, however the tip of the blade still managed to leave a cut on the captain, from the middle of the chin and nearly reaching his left eye. Kenshin gripped his sword tightly and attempted to move for a counter attack but Ichigo was already executing a follow-up, calm black eyes focused on Kenchin's surprised hazel. Two more Tasukiboshi followed, getting progressively faster and ending with a slash from Kenshin's left side down to his right hip, not to deep but enough to draw a good amount of blood.

Finally fighting through the fast attacks with power, Kenshin's sword made a massively powerful downward swing that Ichigo barely managed to avoid but when the blade crashed against the ground, it completely destroyed it, silver energy surrounding the powerful blade. Nurikoboshi quickly followed and Ichigo's back was to Kenshin's back, with the ground destroyed however, the footing was bad thus the blade that he aimed at Kenshin's back was avoided, instead receiving a spinning elbow to his face which sent Ichigo flying a few feet. However, the second Ichigo's feet touched the ground he leaped right back toward Kenshin. However his heels quickly slammed against the ground and his whole body leaned back to barely avoid another powerful swing from the captain. A combination of Tamahomeboshi and Kenmichi followed while Kenshin was still in mid swing. Ichigo's left arm swung fast and powerfully but unlike a normal Tamahomeboshi an energy blade was released from the arm swing, not very strong but still fast and capable of making a vertical cut the left side of Kenshin's chest and he immediately followed up with a perfectly aimed stab toward Kenshin's gut, but most importantly his spine.

Unfortunately the blade pierced only air as Kenshin uncharacteristically moved faster than Ichigo's attack using Tenmichi to reach and stay several feet in the air. Ichigo looked up as Kenshin was already using a technique of his own Steel Dragon Style he dubbed Hiryuu no Tsume or Flying Dragon's Claw, a cross shaped blade of silver energy shot with such power that it broke through everything in it's path. Ichigo's only defence was an attack of his own Nejihou he grabbed the hilt with both hands and purple energy rushed out of his while sword, he swung it creating a spiral blade of energy but right as the blade began to take form it was met with the silver blade, overpowering it and crushing Ichigo underneath...thankfully the attack didn't cut him but the force was enough to create a a crater on the stone floor.

Kenshin's attack wasn't over, he immediately used Tenmichi again, propelling his body down toward Ichigo and aiming his cleaver like blade to stab right through his chest. Ichigo's body cried out as he rolled, showing the damage the previous attack had done on his body, but still he managed to avoid the finishing blow with Kenshin's blade sinking into the ground where Ichigo once laid.
The two stood up and recovered their stances, both of them smiling and the worthy opponent before them.

Re: Death of a Hero [KUMOVENT]

PostPosted by Kiyoshi » Tue Sep 04, 2012 8:37 pm

Kiyoshi switches his gaze from the vault door down to Omoi, then shifts himself and gets to his feet. He reaches his hand down to her, waiting for her to take it, reaching through someone and pulling clothes out with his free hand at the same time. "Come on, you need to practice walking. Make sure you still can. What I did hits people in different ways. Come time, get on, you have things to do." Once he pulls her to her feet and lets her move around a bit, Kiyoshi shoves the clothes into her hands. "Here, put these on, then walk some more, make sure you have your balance and everything. Count your fingers and toes. We'll work on your chakra network next, so don't use any right now. Can't have to frying that. It'll take me a week to fix it."

As he waited for Omoi to finish getting dressed, he checked out the vault door, figuring out how to open it before turning back around. "Do you feel ready to try outside? No pain anywhere? You did count all your fingers and toes right?" He turned to open the door, then paused, turning back. "Oh yea, names, I always forget that part, I don't really do the whole social thing, usually just stab people. I'm Kiyoshi, nice to meet you." With that, he opens the vault, stepping out of view for a second. A moment later a couple screams were cut short and he peeked back around. "Outside is clear, I think we have room to test your chakra network. Come over here." As soon as Omoi cleared the vault, he placed his hands on her shoulders, closing his eyes to better sense her network. "Okay, do something small, just so we can get a feel of how your network is. If nothing happens, it'll be fine for you to do what you need to, but, you are still my patient and I'm not letting you out of my sight until you are back to normal. Go whenever you feel you're ready."

Maya covered her face with her hands, taking a step back at the sudden explosion of combat. She begins to reach for a kunai when something just rips through the wall by her and grabs her hand. All attempts to get free were met with nothing, it was almost like it felt no pain at all. Only one thought crossed her mind before she finally blacked out.

'Sensei is not going to be happy I missed class.'

Pupiless blue eyes stared into the ground for a long moment, watching the clashing energies.

When had Otoha's chakra turned so dark? Her beloved's was bright as the sun in comparison....

Had he really been the one to put Omoi in the state Raika left her in?

The woman's jaw clenched, trusting her beloved's instincts as she set about her own duties, looking over her shoulder as she sliced a mercenary in half to check on the mednin and patients slowly streaming out of the hospital.

"Get a move on! You don't get out of there and you'll end up dead!" she shouted back at them, slicing two more mercenaries as the first of her dragons took off with its load.

Dull sapphire eyes stared at the clothes for a few moments in her nakedness before she pulled them on, underwear, a white tank top, and a dark blue miniskirt, sandals upon her feet.

Her body was weak and aching, but not so bad that she couldn't move.

And yes... all ten fingers, all ten toes, all moving properly.

"...Omoi."

Her voice was raspy from the screams, aching with just that single word. She needed something to drink.... Her tongue lapped at the everflowing tears slipping past her mouth, salty moisture resting upon the muscle.

Screams made her stir, awakening a little more, eyes less than human despite their appearance. Stiff movements were slowly smoothing into grace as she exited the vault, stopping to pick up a single lingering kunai.

Something small....

Her forearms turned sapphire with scales, fingers sharpening into deadly claws as she raised them up for personal inspection.

It was a drain on what little chakra she had left, but otherwise... everything was functioning properly.

Those tears just kept flowing... and she didn't really feel like using chakra to make them stop.

Oh well.

Omoi moved quietly through the halls, leaving the building to gaze upon the chaos of the day and breathe in the scent of fresh blood, old instincts from birth, from before birth, awakening the predator in her in a way they hadn't in a very long time....

A lone young woman with white hair and sad blue eyes moved through the chaos, lost and alone in her search for unknown family, dodging and fleeing incoming attacks, stopping whenever she heard a groan from a limp body and taking bandages and other medical supplies from the massive pack she carried, a simple katana in a blue sheath at her hip, patching up mercenary, civilian, and shinobi alike as best she could, and easing the passing of those who couldn't and had no one else around to save them.

And then she stopped to stare at a shinigami and a dragon facing off, freezing up as the air felt so much heavier.... And then they were gone, and metal rang against metal, and Aoi sprinted to find samurai in the midst of combat, her eyes widening as she took in the spectacle.

They had to be it.

Onigami.

"Right, see you on the ground, punk," Koromi punctuated hers and Seifer's brief recap of the plan with a friendly shoulder slug. She had been keeping track of the time passed since his father's descent, and her time to move had arrived now that camp below was stirred. Her sharp turn flared the edges of her long coat, revealing at her hips two shimmering pistols of the new fangled steam-projectile technology. As it had been since her loss of the Serenado, the left third of her scalp was buzzed extremely short, and through the purple fuzz she now had a stylized bat tattoo, bearing a keyhole at its center. This was not covered up by the raggedy strap of the black-tinted goggles she now slipped over her eyes, the very same that Tsuuki wore in his youth. The rest of her hair remained long, the two-thirds of her remaining bangs covering her right eye--when she wasn't aiming, that is.

She marched out onto the chilly exterior of the Rolling Thunder, her ears picking up the whine of the deck weapons on one side and the far-away mayhem on the other. Anxious but confident she went to a hatch and turn its wheel until the heavy door could slide open, a symphony of chirps flooding up from the dark depths. The Koumori girl gave a few in reply, and turned her head to the far edge of the ship. She could do this. With another chirp the rest of her body followed her head, and she went into a sprint, the metallic clang her tactical boots against the railing standing out to her before the earth opened up beneath her.

Before her body had passed the bottom of the airship a torrent of dark-winged mammals leading from the opened hatch swarmed her, covering her and then stacking on each other until she, like her father, had become a bomb-like mass, only stretched at two sides to create fins. Using this, the bundle soared off away from the camps, heading to another angle into the Kumo Empire. With only a few hundred feet over the tree line, the mass burst into a parachute, ropes of the creatures leading to Koromi who guided them swiftly but safely through the treeline. The bats dispersed at the right moment, and Koromi absorbed the fast landing with a rotation around a branch and back up into the air. In the moment of zero gravity she made a quick survey of her landing, then dropped back into the leaves and onto a branch. There were bats everywhere, a storm of thousands that had been bred and trained by Tsuuki and his daughter. Over all their squeaking and flutter of wings she was able to get her orders to them, and most went off through the woods while a small squad circled around Koromi. She told them to prepare for Seifer's landing, and thanked them with a swelling heart for a thrilling landing.

The Flight master's wake had painted the foliage running along the path gruesome, yet not a flick of red had stained him, every drop that was released from an artery swept away every time by the pressure that surrounded him. While this repelling wasn't being done intentionally, there was meaning to him behind it; the blood he was spilling fell on the Kumo Empire. Before he could further expand on the symbolism to himself, there was a missed beat from the flurry of his enchanted weapons, and feeling around for it within his network of chakra it was as if had disappeared. As expected, there came the challenge from a chakra signature that could only come from a trained shinobi.

"Tsuuki of the Cloud! I've never faced a man of your renown! Fun!" shouted the voice from the back of a rallied group of troops, followed by the whining of swift air.

His movements were practiced to habit, his expression suggesting his mind was still contemplating unimportant things, like his reputation with some being still attached to Kumo. The wind blade flung a few of his phantom weapons aside as it ripped towards the bat sage, but after it passed they quickly drifted back into place, no longer progressing but tightening to form a Spartan-like defense line. Tsuuki crossed his arms, two sai following his hands without being in his grip, and swiping the air he formed an equivalent blade at a matching angle. The two forces met, and simply dispelled each other into a little dust-devil.

Tsuuki had stopped, but his attention still did not seem completely on his challenger and the organized mercenary platoon. His ears swiveled, finding the gate to be just ahead, and then making a few other adjustments for instant calculations. His head twisted slightly side to side, then looked down to his feet. He counted aloud three "steps" back, which was just floating back an approximate distance. Finally, his head lifted towards Shinkousha, who would feel the gaze of the moon-eye on him and might notice the apologetic look on Tsuuki's face as the ex-Kumo sennin lifted his index fingers and plugged his bat ears.

There was the flash first, as there always was, and then the walls of Kumo were rattled again by a second blast at the gates as particles of air were split by unimaginable force. It had come from the sky, a few miles back and a few miles up, near-instantaneously connecting with the area before the gate and sending off a hot blue flash and an eruption of sound. The flash hissed away, and before the already ruined gates was now a deep canyon-like crater, carved by the beam and leaving an wide gape between the village interior and the outside. Unsupported sections of the gate side toppled inward, partially sealing the entrance.

As for the men that had been there, their bodies had been instantly incinerated. Tsuuki unplugged his ears, but it was through his chakra senses of the Rokubi that he noticed the unfortunate challenger might have survived, though would have been violently tossed by the force even with a miraculous evasion. Tsuuki sighed briefly, muttering to himself "Lightning, of course he picked lightning for this," and mumbling on in what sounded like tiny chirps.

Though the young fighter that had organized them had seemingly disappeared in the Rolling Thunder's blast, his instructions had spared a few dozen men who had spread out to flank Tsuuki. Some had collapsed with shellshock from the explosion, some just stared in disbelief at the crater that once were their comrades, but a good number of them pushed forward valiantly. Tsuuki was a little surprised to find some of his shielding blades above him had been annihilated in the weapon fire, noting to himself to take five steps back instead of three next time. The weapons that were left, still plenty in number, turned in the air and rained down on the advancing men from both sides. A handful still made it through, charging in from scattered directions on Tsuuki, who reached into his jacket and pulled out--his pipe, which he started to pack.

The closest started to rear up but was interrupted by an invisible sucker-punch across his chin and spinning him on his heels. His pike went soaring out of his grip, skimming by Tsuuki and plunging through the neck of the second closest soldier, whose sword was then yanked away by unseen strings and guided through the torso of a third mercenary. Two men attacked together, but had their skulls rammed into each other with a stoogesque manner before their strikes got any power behind them. A shrieking man bound into the air with his blade overhead, only to be stopped suddenly in mid-air, turned upside-down, and then sent hurtling at hundreds of feet a second over the forest, still shrieking. The last man still had the bravery to try a hit, just as Tsuuki finished packing his pipe. The four sai came sweeping down from above, the two unsharpened ones jabbing the foolish man in his dominant shoulder to drop his weapon and the other right into his belly button, unintentionally reopening that entry as these two sai tilted him off his feet and held him in the air. The hooks of his two sharpened sai caught his wrists and held them at his back, thoroughly disabling the lone man.

Tsuuki lit his pipe and puffed, a moment of hangtime wondering if something had happened to his daughter. The answer came immediately, his ear perking once towards the woods as he turned his face towards the man. He wasn't sure which eye to look at, given that one glowed eerily and the other seemed to just be a hole in his head, but he could read the expression and it seemed pitying. "I'm sorry to do this to ya, but it's been a long trip and they're a bit peckish," Tsuuki explained through a white cloud of smoke, just as darkness appeared to ooze out of the forest behind him. It was an entire roost of bats--even more, their numbers too hard to tell while they blacked out even the night sky. "I don't think you'll mind too much, you wouldn't be here if you weren't content with being used," he stung, turning his face away to puff his pipe. The stuck man had only started to scream before he was muffled by the layering of bats over his entire body, and within seconds he was a husk, sapped of his chakra.

The bat sage took one last drag of his pipe, tapped it out, then stowed it, tossing the drained corpse with his sai like a candy wrapper. His creatures swirled around him, and he smiled to hear their news of Koromi's successful landing. It embarrassed him every time to doubt his daughter's ability, but he excused himself on account of his relationship to her. That was natural. Unnatural, on the other hand, was what the Rokubi's senses were picking up within the village walls. Things he had suspected, things he had feared, things he still had no idea what was going on. He stretched his fingers, and from the earth around him rose the every available weapon, soon mixing into the bats without harm.

"Alright, chums," Tsuuki spoke to this strange storm, "Let's go see what the ruckus is all about." The bats and blades closed in around their master tightly, then immediately separating again. Tsuuki and the weapons had disappeared, and the bats scattered in every direction.

(This is probably enough for now, I'll post Momona later . . . and a surprise.)

Among the chaos Nihon felt relief.

Otoha… His friend, He had found him!

Otoha was strong and reliable…. Heck he had even saved Nihons life before.

As a friend and as a brother in BOLT, He needed to hear the news…

“Its O-…” He felt a crushing sensation around his throat as his words gave out on him.
“Wha…” He gasped
What was going on?
Nothing was right… What had happened since he been away?

His lungs were burning, waiting to burst full of air. His hands flew to his throat to try and loosen the grip of the man… choking him by the throat.

Looking onto his attacker… No his Friend Nihon’s piercing blue eyes met his gaze and the eyes staring back at him were ones he remembered… the eyes he saw now were the eyes of a monster.

For a second his arms went limp as he felt his body propelled backwards.

Taking in a huge breath of air, his body came back to life as his hands merged together to form the necessary hand seals. As wind began to swirl and enclose around his body it was a new jutsu protective jutsu he had created… It was his cyclone armor.

Still in motion he couldn’t stop himself. But instead could only watch as he was slapped out of the way by another… Flying straight into a wall he crashed through the building.

Everything went black. The next thing he could remember was this awful screeching… Opening his eyes slowly he could see a woman screaming at him.

“Uhh… Knock it off… your giving me a headache!” He said woozily hoping that as the screaming would stop so would the ringing in his ear.

“Damn...” he muttered. He had no clue how long he had been out. Nor could he believe his friend Otoha attacked him.

He wasn’t sure what exactly was going on… But he wasn’t down yet. It wasn’t in his nature to give up… not anymore, anyway.

Tilting his head he cracked his neck. Taking a second to Throw his arms back and limber up before forming the cyclone armor Nihon took little time to leap back into action…

Stumbling at first Nihon got back up to speed. Running frantically from room to room he searched for his corrupted friend, with no luck. He headed downward. As everything began getting darker and darker Nihon reached in his belt to grab an emergency flair. Igniting with a flash they Smokey light was dim but it did its job... As he descended downward he could hear strange sounds coming from below as a faint Otoha and that one guy appeared within the darkness… As his blue eyes narrowed on his target he could see the other guy readying his attack.

Wasting no time Nihon pushed wind chakra into his body. Still with his speed he wasn’t going to make it in time. Quickly moving his free had he made the seals to create not one but four Wind breaker shields, one right after another. Directing himself straight at Otoha He grabbed his collar as his free hand as he positioned himself between Otoha and his attacker.“Sorry to be interrupting like that… But I got something to say.”he called out to the stranger. (don’t worry he wasn’t talking about beyonce’s video either)

He couldn’t believe he was saving Otoha like that after just attacking him… I guess some habits are harder to stop than others.

His focus then went back onto his friend.
His hand clenched around the collar or his shirt Nihon wasn’t going to let him go anytime soon.

“I don’t know what the hell’s gotten into you…” He hissed threw gritted teeth. *crack* As the first shield exploded and shattered.
“But you got to knock this shit off.” His voice low and gruff. *crack* Now the second shield gave away as it feel to pieces
.
It was very rare for Nihon to be this serious. Not knowing how much longer he could pull this off he knew he needed to deliver the message fast.

“Its’ Omoi… She’s hurt. Her condition status is critical and outside of Raika’s healing ability." ... Even though it just a while ago it was still hard to talk about. *crack* The third one failed as well. Nihon could hair the slight whistling of his last shield as it struggled to stay…

“…Just thought you should know” he said in a defeated tone.

His arms were shaking… He knew he couldn’t hold onto his superior much longer.

He looked at Otoha, as his mouth curved upward into a smile….

He could hear the wind shield chip away… At this rate it would soon shatter along with the others…

Nihon placed down his hand of cards all at once and hoped they would be enough…

Hopefully his message had gotten through to Otoha..

*crack*

A wind barrier, to hold off an electric assault... smart.

Getting in Ryuuchi's way, not so much.

Otoha's monstrous eyes met those of his old friend, and he smiled, reaching out... to take pull a kunai free of Nihon's holster. The blade gleamed with chakra as his armor faded away, and he struck, muscles of his weapon-baring arm bulging oddly. The blade met flesh.. not that of Nihon, but that of his own arm, bound in place by Ryuuchi's scales. Flesh, muscle and bone all broke beneath the assault, severing the limb at the shoulder, and with a surge of Raiton chakra released through his legs, Otoha slipped away into the darkness. Beginning at the point of his wound, already bubbling oddly as if attempting to regenerate, a dark, malignant chakra began to pour out of his body along with the almost-black lifeblood. This darkness would wrap around his body, forming a cocoon, all but impenetrable. A beat, of gathering energy, and the village would quake, the 'egg' rapidly expanding to burst through the lower floors of the hospital. Another beat, and the shell shattered, wings as black as night tearing through the remainder of the building as the spread to their fullest extent, stretching hundreds of feet into the sky. With a rush of power, they surged downward, knocking shinobi and mercenaries alike into the dirt under the tremendous force of the air being moved as his form tore free of the ruins, a section of the mountain itself cracking from the effort.

Winging his way into the sky, Otoha wheeled about, the moon at his back almost eclipsed through sheer size. Gathering energy to his jaws, the Kuroryu roared, a rush of black flames tearing free to wash through the gaping hole his ascension had left.
Spoiler:
Name: Shindou Sochi
Rank: B
Range: Close
Jutsu Type: Taijutsu
Elemental Affinity: Raiton
Clan: N/A

Description:
The Shindou Sochi, or "Shock Step" is a taijutsu technique developed by Otoha Nue. It revolves around footwork, and the precise movements involved with controlling ones position on the battlefield. Unlike Fuuton Taijutsu techniques that might allow the user to cover great distances in the blink of an eye, Shindou Sochi is intended for quick, precise movements. By focusing Raiton chakra to their legs, the user is able to stimulate their muscles into a proverbial overdrive, pushing them past their normal limits. When added to the natural speed boost that one receives while focusing chakra to their legs, this means their footwork would be above and beyond that of another shinobi they fought, when proporly applied. This technique doesn't focus on linear movements from point A to point B, and as such, is not intended for running, although it can be used for a quick getaway when applied with the proper distraction. Through the use of Shindou Sochi, the user is able to make a series of quick movements, punctuated by a flash of Raiton chakra, which serves to draw the opponent's eye, although the point of their opponent's focus isn't a major factor in its use. Moving at a series of close angles, the user quickly leaves their opponent's field of vision, actually appearing as a blur, or vanishing entirely. The blur effect is a simple optical illusion caused by their erratic movements, not due to their speed. The upsides to this technique include dodging and repositioning themselves at a high speed, allowing for better openings. The downsides mainly revolve around the strain to their muscles; using this technique repeatedly in quick succession could cause major damage to the user's legs, and the chakra network within.

Current limitations: As Otoha's rank has increased, so too has his skill with this technique, and his body's ability to stand up to the stress involved. As a Jounin, having made Shindou Sochi his signature technique since his genin years, Otoha is able to make use of the technique without any damage to his own body.

Name: Ryukatachi: Shukensha [Dragonform: Sovereign]
Rank: S
Range: Supplementary
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Elemental Affinity: Taiyon [Solar]
Clan: The Blades of Fate

Description: The highest skill within the Dragonform series, Sovereign represents Otoha utilizing the Kinryu to its very fullest extent, altering his body on a massive scale, and making up for the difference in mass with sheer chakra. After a set of handseals, he releases a blinding surge of Solar chakra from his body, easily bright enough to significantly, if only temporarily, injure the eyesight of anyone not smart enough to look away upon the first sign of the light. The expanse of light grows, before taking shape and solidifying as a full sized dragon, either Eastern or Western in design, depending on his needs. Shukensha carries a high chakra cost upon each use, leaving the user weakened, yet capable of fighting after using it, but making transforming more than twice in a single combat situation out of the question. Shukensha carries several tactical advantages and disadvantages, namely an increase in offensive power at a loss in mobility and accuracy.

Name: Ryukatachi: Kaen [Dragonform: Blaze]
Rank: B - A
Range: Near - Mid (B) - Far (A)
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Elemental Affinity: Taiyon [Solar]
Clan: The Blades of Fate

Description: Intended to be used in conjunction with either Sentou or Shukensha with the B or A rank variants, respectively, Kaen is Otoha's solution to the dragon's fire of legends, with his own elemental twist. Bracing himself upon all four legs, he inhales deeply, gathering a spiraling mass of Taiyon energy in the air just past his jaws, which condenses itself into a smaller and smaller projectile as time passes. Upon exhaling with a deafening roar, the gathered energy is released, searing across the expanse between the user and the target in a straight line, capable of being dragged based on the direction of the user's head.

Ryuhou growled under his breath, muscles tense. Kagerou's stunt had puzzled the young samurai, frustrated him in a way he hadn't been in ages. He'd been overpowered in the past, but this... this was different. It was on a level he should have been able to reach... but different enough that he couldn't quite grasp it.

There was a trick. He just didn't know what it was. As he climbed to his feet, finally shifting his weight off of Kizoku well enough to swing it up to rest over his shoulder, he became acutely aware of a shaking in his limbs. That was... odd. Fear?

"Hell no."

Across the village, he noticed a massive beast tearing free of the earth, winging its way up into the sky. The sight was so absurd, he couldn't help but laugh, and a moment later, the tension released, the shaking quelled. There were real monsters raging throughout the battlefield, from the titular sort like Ichigo, to literal hellbeasts winging their way through the sky and spitting liquid lightning. To be afraid of a mere man with a party trick, it was laughable, and it was pathetic.

Kagerou halted his approach, just outside of Ryuhou's range. The white-haired Onigami prepared to defend... but no attack came. His opponent, it seemed was a counter-swordsman of the purest sort.

Back towards the gates, back towards the alleyway he carried her, back to the destiny that all jinchuriki must live with, to be used as human weapons. She was suc a pretty girl, it was too bad that she had to go through such a thing like this, but it was all for the greater good. Of course, Ian had no resevations about what he was doing, he didn't have any feelings to have any reservations. He simply had his duty.

Dropping her into the center of the circle he began to perform the handseals, much much different from the quick ones of most ninjutsu. Seal after seal after seal he performed, molding his chakra in a new and unfamiliar way. The seals on her body began to show up and each of the small spades that held her Bijuu's power like tanks began to crack and break, causing varying levels of her release to materialize. A dome formed around the large seal he had drawn before, containing the massive chakra within. Not even the best of sensors would be able to feel what was going on within its confines as the young boy continued the seals, filling the orb with a deep purple chakra. Osen had finally woken up, screaming and writhing in pain as her demon was being forcibly extracted. The seventh seal cracked and broke and her body twisted and turned unnaturally and with the eighth one breaking she went limp. The immense amount of chakra poured out of her body and small cracks appeared on the barrier but it held, and her body dropped onto the hard ground within the swirling maeltrom of chakra. Walking up to the barrier he placed his hand on the edge, and focused his own chakra on it and slowly but surely it began to travel up his arms into Ian's body. His skin started to smoke and crackle, and eventually it even started peeling off and burning, but he didn't flinch or move, he simply took the pain and stood there his body eating itself away. To anyone watching, he was attempting suicide, but between his clans chakra absorbing abilities and his forced determination, he would survive, and he would be successful.

After what seemed like an eternity, the barrier blinked and flashed a bright light and then disappeared. Ian stood there, body smoking and steaming, raw flesh slowly rebuilding itself. His normally purple eyes had received a small circle of yellow at the center of them and his teeth had become sharpened, more feral. He looked down at Osen who was still breathing though it seemed horribly labored, and then held his hands out, feeling an odd odd sensation all over his body. It tingled a bit until the last of his wounds had healed. Looking around, all of the seals that had once been on the wall were gone, transferred to his own body, spiraling along it an ending in a large circle on his back.

A moment later he let out a tremendous roar as he jumped from human to partial Bijuu transformation, obliterating the alleyway and the block in its entirety. A dark purple chakra cloak covered his body, as he landed in the center of a new block, surrounded by shinobi and mercs. From a distance, many of the shinobi thought it was Osen, and so did the mercs, but when the first tendril of his cloak grabbed a shinobi, and the second grabbed a merc, and the third grabbed the next person nearest to him, they all stopped to watch. The cloak grabbed onto them and began pulling energy from them, their skin drying out like a raisin until all three of them dropped to the ground dead and drained of their chakra. Everyone was silent for just a moment, staring at what had just happened.

And then it smiled.

THe loud explosion rang in Koujo's ear echoing painfully as a painful symphony. It would not stop resonating in his ear as he awoke out of his bed. It had been only a few days since he had stayed in this residential area of Kumo for the most secluding himself from everyone. He thought carefully of what Mainasha told him while in a bar in Kumo and for the past 3 days he thought about who he was, and about what legacy he wanted to honor his dead brother with. Ironically his dream that he was in before being awoken, was with him having to eventually make a life changing choice in the future. Just as he had woken up and got up quickly heading to the window, a knock came to him from his door. When he looked out the window, he saw that it was Mainasha outside looking frantic, he could also see loud noises and screams and people all rallying together. He let her in as she had a look of gloom in her face.

"It's really bad out there Koujo, I came to make sure you were alright. I haven't even been able to get into contact with the police squad. It has all came out at once.

Koujo looked at her in curiousity and shocked.

"Mai, tell me what is going on!? I just woke up hearing a loud explosion."

"We don't have much time, but there is an invasion going on, a bunch of bandits, thugs and a couple of high ranked ninja are trashing through the village. It's horrible. It's overwhelming I have been trying to rally people and help as much, but it's just too much. Luckily you guys are at the edge and they haven't reached here yet, but they will and they will be coming in waves. You will need to be ready Koujo."

Koujo looked over his wall showing his two trusty tomahawks that were mounted in an "X" shape.

"Well...if there is one thing I know how to do...it's survive..if you can excuse me..I need to change.."

"yeah yeah hurry I will be right out the door."

Mainasha stepped out letting Koujo change his clothes. When she waited outside she heard the voice of a villager. A lot of the villagers were crowded together by this time, many in panic others in rage and ready to fight, and others just in shock and confusion. She had her back to the wall near Koujo's door looking at the spectacle and in the middle of it a large young woman, rather young girl. Mainasha knew of the girl as she of course being in Police force kept knowledge of the community and it's inhabitants. She was rather a popular figure among this area of the residential sector despite being young. Mainasha thought that she would make a great shinobi.

Momona wrote:Is this something we are afraid of still? We of Kumogakure have been through this again and again, and those of you here all survived it before; but if you're anything like me, you live with that regret, that knowing that if you had just fought harder, more of us would be here today."

As she continued to speak and rally the villagers, Koujo had exited from his place in full gear is Tomahawks on each hip and a few other weapons and gear. Koujo had a large and very muscular frame to go with his 6'10 height. As he stepped out looking at the speech the girl was giving a few looks came from the villages seeing him for the first time. Many more than doubt in awe of his extreme height and size.

Momona wrote:"I know each of you have weapons in your homes you use to protect your family--there is no greater time for them than now, for these tools now will be protecting a greater cause: our families,"

"Who's that?"

Koujo asked while still listening.

"She is Momona Komoura...the daughter of Tsuuki Komouri and the late Mitsumi..."

"The great Tsuuki huh? and you said late Mitsumi? I recognize her as well, she was a samurai right?"

"Yes, she unfortunately passed..she was an honorable woman. You have missed a lot while you have been gone Little Wolf.

"I..see..

"Anyway, She is a one of our top Genin here in Kumo and well known among this residential sector. You should get to know your neighbors.

Momona wrote: "And if I die, I go in the footsteps of those heroes before me. Which of you will get to enjoy that same honor?"

[color=purple]Such passion...an example of the will of Kumo..perhaps....

As Mainasha said this to herself she looked over at Koujo, who was passionately locked onto the face of Momona as she spoke, taking in every speech. His serious demeanor needed now words to illustrate his desire to protect his village....

Far in the opposite side of the battlefield, Kumo laid only a few hundred meters from the eyes of the Dark Hyuuga Tolkien. He was among the many mercenaries and pillagers that were awaiting their turn to wreak havoc to Kumo. They were recruited in droves, through an underground network that few unless among the mercenaries would know. Tolkien having the access took a tip on a large mission going down within Kumo. The details were not made, however, it mattered not, being that it involved Kumo on a large scale. Tolkien would have never imagined it would be something like this. Tolkien's eyes had a rage that hadn't been seen in awhile since his encounter with Gainon Imani. The Icarus member, having many contacts in the underground and like the others before him accepted the mission to pillage the great village of Kumo, which orders came after accepting the, at the time, unknown contract. He continued to stare at the village with eyes of fervor. A fellow merc tapped his shoulder rather abruptly, greatly irritating Tolkien.

"Ha!! I've been waiting to cut into some flesh you know? You look like you dying to kill something too.."

"You could say that..."

Tolkien replied. He was purposely short and brief which kinda annoyed the man, but he continued on showing Tolkien his blade. Each continued discussion Tolkien, made the Hyuuga that much more angrier and it appeared that the man enjoyed it..

"Yep, I will slice every arm, leg, and head out there..my blade needs some excercise. I am surprised you aren't leading anybody and just being a random ol' member like us here.....being that you were an Icarus member am I correct?"

Tolkien clenched his fist upon every word..

"I don't like to lead a pack of sheep to slaughter...that's all"

The fellow mercenary was angry at that response and was about to grab Tolkien until he felt an eerie chill came from Tolkien. It was as if his aura was pulsing that even the mercenary could feel. He held back his hand and then bumped him violently.

"Stay out of my way!!"

Tolkien ignored the man still looking at his old home of Kumokagure. Tolkien long joined Konoha and in turn the Hyuuga, but Kumo was always a part of him and still his village in his mind. The village that adopted him into their way of life as a child. The village of his clan, the Imani. A place he was raised from the age of 10 until he was an adult and decided to take the journey back to Konoha to face his past those years ago. Not since the Samurai Civil War had he came here to save his village. During that time however he took on the guise of his old persona "Gaiden" to hide his identity. This time, he was going personally as himself...Tolkien's blood boiled listening to the cheery expressions of the killers and murderers around him. They had no honor and no dignity. They would have no problem raping women and children and stealing everything that the people of Kumo worked hard for. Unfortunately, taking the job as just a lowly class merc, he was not given information on the mastermind behind the raid, but he would find out eventually. But for now..he would play the cards that were dealt....for now..

Re: Death of a Hero [KUMOVENT]

PostPosted by Ryuuchi » Thu Sep 06, 2012 9:20 am

A lot of unexpected things happened in quick succession, from the stupid brat getting in the way of delivering a direct hit, to his opponent cutting his own arm off without hesitation, followed by his showy transformation into a giant dragon. It was irritating, Ryuuchi could have finished the guy off or at least to some considerable damage to him had the boy not felt the need to inform the perpetrator of his crime...for a moment Ryuuchi wondered if it was a good idea to keep him alive when the boy was first thrown at him. But it didn't matter since the deed was done.

While Otoha covered himself into his little egg, Ryuuchi stood his ground. The arm Otoha had left behind was finally completely covered in scales and dropped into the ground with a strong thud. Ryuuchi didn't take his eyes from the mass of dark malevolent energy, but his hand slowly closed, making the scales around the arm shrink, crushing the it and the blade inside until what was once an arm and large blade was compacted into a ball the size of a golf ball. It was better safe than sorry.

Then the dragon showed up and the building started to crumble as it made it's escape...he couldn't help but sigh, using his wings to block the debris and looking through the hole at the show off giant lizard. An attack followed, at first they looked like black flames but there was something more to them. Ryuuchi's wings immediately opened completely and without moving from his spot he began draining the chakra from the attack through both his wings and mouth. It tasted like crap...

Upon finishing his meal Ryuuchi spat on the ground next to him and jumped up through the whole, still looking up at the giant beast. On the downside, the sudden appearance of the giant beast destroyed a large part of the hospital, but on the bright side Otoha was up in the air where Ryuuchi had no worry in going all out. But the very worst thing about the situation, was how annoyed looking up at another black dragon it was for Ryuuchi.

"You know what? F.uck this..."

Ryuuchi's hand rose up to his neck as his body began to fully change into his Ryuukotai, his hair returned to it's previous red color, his eyes become blood red once again, his body grew slightly in size becoming much more powerful, a tail grew from his lower back, spikes grew on his knees, elbows and tail and a large pair of horns grew from his head.
He contemplated simply going into his full dragon form, but it wasn't the wisest of decisions yet. Ryuukotai plus his size versus Otoha's new giant form would allow him to be much faster and maneuverable than Otoha, not to mention that Otoha became a big and easy target while Ryuuchi would remain a hard one to hit.

His knees bent, his back arched, his left hand touched the ground and his wing rose high...in a heartbeat his whole body moved, shooting up at an incredible speed toward the large Otoha.

Spoiler:
Name: Sekai o Kurou (World Eater)
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short to Mid
Jutsu Type: Ninjutsu
Elemental Affinity: N/A
Clan: N/A
Description: Ryuuchi's strongest chakra draining technique. This jutsu allows him to literally eat chakra, be it from a jutsu or a person, if he manages to bite down one someone he can immediately begin sucking the chakra out of them and the rate of which he sucks the chakra is the scariest part as he is capable of draining a chuunin level ninja completely in a matter of seconds. However the most dangerous facet of this jutsu is how he is capable of sucking chakra out of jutsu up to 15 feet in front of him. If an attack is made Ryuuchi can literally suck the chakra out of the attack, effectively cancelling the jutsu or at least weakening it considerably. Fire, Lightning and Radiation jutsu up to A-rank are instantly drained of chakra once they enter the area of effect, jutsu of other elements (or of no element) up to B-rank are also instantly sucked dry and A-rank and up are weakened. The problem with this jutsu is that Ryuuchi is only capable of draining one jutsu at a time with it, meaning that he is left open if multiple jutsu are thrown at him at the same time.

Name: Chakra Kuiarasu no Yoku (Chakra Devouring Wing)
Rank: C/A-Rank
Range: Close
Jutsu Type: Kekkei Genkai
Elemental Affinity: N/A
Clan: Kirinketsu Clan
Description: This is a jutsu that can be done fairly easily by younger and less experienced users but used by an expert can result is a complete drain of chakra in a few seconds. When a chakra based attack is launched at the user he can go into Half–Dragon Form and open his wings, chakra from the attack will start to be drained trough the wings. At a lower level this just lessens the power of an attack but on a higher level this can completely drain the chakra from several attacks.

Name: Ryuukotai (Dragon Child Form)
Rank: N/A
Range: Supplementary
Jutsu Type: Kekkei Genkai
Elemental Affinity: N/A
Clan: Kirinketsu Clan
Description: The bloodline ability most children unlock long before reaching Senryuutai, being a state "in-between" Senryuutai and their original human form. The initial state of activation of the Ryuukotai is considered to be any time a clan member converts all of their skin into their black scales, but it doesn't stop there. The most common Ryuukotai form is actually more demon like than dragon like from a spectator's point of view, their bodies covered in black scales, dragon wings grow on their backs, a tail forms from their lower back, horns appear on their heads, big, sharp fangs form in their mouths, spikes form in select parts of the body (elbows, knees, etc) their fingers form into sharp claws along with their toes and their muscles grow and harden. This form grants them a couple of physical boosts such as strength, speed, stamina and so on, along with flight. This form is manly used for enhancing taijutsu while at the same time protecting the clan members using their own scales as armor which they can freely manipulate. The Kirinketsu can also choose to add or take away certain features such as their wings or tails should they become a hindrance.

"A dragon...YES! And it's huge! Look at it! So amazing! Such a powerful presence!"

Despite being in a battle against Ichigo, the captain couldn't help but look up at his object of admiration...he wasn't known as the great dragon otaku for nothing. For a few moments Kenshin was lost in his own little world, completely ignoring his opponent, luckily for him Ichigo still retained a sense of honor in battle and attacking an opponent who was completely distracted didn't sit right with him. But then Kenshin's eyes shifted back to Ichigo, giving the white haired samurai the meanest and coldest glare since they had met.

"A nuisance...Yonsendairyuumaru (Four Thousand Year Dragon Armour)!"

No set up or anything, the bastard just activated his Saigo out of the blue. Silver energy left his konbuki, completely surrounding Kenshin's body in a hurricane of energy for a few seconds before it dissipated into the air, revealing that Kenshin no longer held a blade in his hand but instead was covered in a full body armor with several dragon figures, including dragon skull helm and dragon head shoulder pads. The energy he was releasing from his body was no joke either, even making Ichigo tighten his guard...he was not expecting the captain to just up and pull out his Saigo like that.

But then he vanished, rather the Captain's body and energy shot out in the opposite direction from Ichigo, surprising him completely. Using Tenmichi Ichigo tried his best to catch up with the missile like Captain, his eyes admiring the giant black beast for a few moments.

Ryuuchi was close to reaching Otoha, already his hands started making a set of handseals, however a sudden sound coming from his side caught his attention, along with the large armored fist that connected with his face propelling Ryuuchi's body back down toward the ground and forcing a crash landing into a couple of houses.

"How dare you! Attacking a dragon! I'll have your head you mongrel!"

Kenshin stood in the air where he had punched Ryuuchi. His main reason for activating his Saigo was to reach Ryuuchi before he had the chance to reach Otoha, he had no idea why someone would attack such a majestic creature such as a dragon, but in his mind it was a sin worthy of death.
Ryuuchi on the other hand stood up from the rubble, massaging his neck while wondering what the hell had just happened. His red eyes shot up to look at his attacker but Kenshin was already landing in front of Ryuuchi, his gauntlet was surrounded by silver energy, forming into a large dragon like claw that he used to hit Ryuuchi at full power, sending him once again through several other buildings.

Ichigo, on the other hand, finally reached the same position where Kenshin hit Ryuuchi first. He knew that the captain was a dragon nut but he never thought that he would actually ignore a fight with him to protect one against an unknown enemy...especially a dragon sending off such evil and threatening vibes. His black eyes shift from Kenshin's battle to Otoha above him and a grin began to grow on his lips as an idea popped into his head.

"I wonder if he'll get back to fighting me if I kill this thing."

He said finally turning to face Otoha. The blade in Ichigo's hand was suddenly surrounded in purple energy, violently lashing from and around it while Ichigo's left hand moved to his face, a mask quickly forming in front of his face. Immediately the energy around his blade grew stronger and much more violent. Ichigo's Kage suddenly appeared behind him, the figure of a Shinigami nearly rivaling the dragon's size, but only for a few moments, for as it disappeared Ichigo swung his word three times, releasing three large, fast and powerful Daiashitareboshi.

Spoiler:
Name: Tenmichi (Sky's Path)
Rank: C-Rank (B-Ranked Samurai+)
Range: Close
Jutsu Type: Taijutsu
Elemental Affinity: None
Clan: Onigami Clan
Description: Due to the Onigami's inability to perform simple ninja techniques just as water/wall walking, they have developed a technique that allows them to bypass such obstacles. This technique is a simply kick performed by the user in mid air, however the kick is not aimed at a target but in the opposite direction that the user wants to move to. In other words by kicking the air the user is capable of changing directions in mid air and at higher levels stay in the air for short periods of time. The user simply kicks the air in the opposite direction to where they want to go, this kick cannot be so weak, flaky kick but a strong and fast one. As they kick, they also release a burst of energy from their leg helping in propelling the user. By kicking with both legs at the same time the user can shoot in one direction much faster than normal and keep a steady balance but using only one leg is also possible. There are variations of this technique as each Onigami member has their own way of using it but this is the basics of this technique.

Name: Kage (Shadow)
Rank: D-Rank
Range: Close
Jutsu Type: Energy Control
Elemental Affinity: None
Clan: Onigami Clan
Description: Very simple illusion technique. By releasing Spiritual energy around them the user can distort the air, creating short illusions they call their shadow. The illusion created behind the user is called their shadow because it was once called the Onigami's real bodies showing their true colors. In fact this is nothing more than an intimidation technique that works best at higher levels as the stronger and the better energy control one has the bigger and scarier the illusions can be. The illusions can range from a small harmless penguin to a giant monster depending on the user's power and of course their personality.

Name: Seiryuu-ryu: Ashitareboshi (Azure Dragon Sword Style: Tail)
Rank: C/B-rank
Range: Mid to Long
Jutsu Type: Kenjutsu
Elemental Affinity: None
Clan: Onigami Clan
Description: One of the 7 Mansions of the Azure Dragon. The users most release some Spiritual Energy from their Konbuki making them shine and look like a flame around the blade. After this the user will slash the air in a crescent shape movement leaving Spiritual Energy where the blade passes by, then once the crescent blade is complete it will shoot towards the target, they are hard and tough has steel and as sharp has the sword. If the user has two weapons this technique is called Ashitareboshibai or Double Tail. Also if the user is under the influence of the Onimane they will release more Spiritual Energy making the Technique B-Rank and a bigger crescent blade called Daiashitareboshi or Big Tail.

The cockpit was cold, almost eerily so. This was only the second time Supaiku had sat in the area that had been custom built with his beast in mind, Tsuuki could have fired the cannons fist but Supaiku had insisted he fire The Rolling Thunder's christening shot. He had become familar with it's controls, it's drain and it's raw power while it had still been a prototype yet none of that could compared to the finished production. Calmly his hands found stability around the fuelling sticks, squeezing them tightly as he closed his eyes, emptied his mind and began to pour his chakra throughout the cockpit. Fuuninjutsu around him began to light up as he poured more and more power into the mighty capital ship as he scanned the area miles below for his target. He could feel Tsuuki's flare of charka, along with hundreds more just before him, these were his targets.

"Cover 'yer ears, mate. This one's gonna be a really cracker..." He muttered before Rolling Thunder became the brightest light in the darkly veiled sky, illuminated by the thousands of seals that embroidered her hull, serving to focus Supaiku's chakra to the massive Thunder Buster Cannons. Gauges laid out around him gave readings that were off the charts, Rolling Thunder practically came to life with chakra as it spun around it like liquid in a lava lamp.

Then there was an ear splitting sound of thunder as all the chakra suddenly shot forth into the cannons before vanishing. In the blink of an eye the damage was done, Supaiku wouldn't see it until he planted his feet on the ground and even then he wouldn't believe the results of the mighty ship.

An uncomfortable sigh escaped his lips Supaiku collected his energy, readying himself for his drop. The cannons had drained him, he made a mental note to run some test runs on them to better prepare himself next time. Cracking open the hatch, Supaiku leaped atop one of the large cannons, walking down it's length before staring to the ground below, as the clouds broke he could make out the smoke left in the aftermath of Rolling Thunder's blow, he couldn't help but give an impressed whistle.

"Guess it's time to help out ol' 'Suki." He muttered, pulling his black ballistic mask over his features, allowing the white skull to become his facade. Before he could use his transportation jutsu however, a voice ran out in his ear from the mask's communications.

"Getting slow in your old age, Uncle?"

For a moment, Supaiku was confused over the words from Seifer, until he felt a pulse of chakra, glancing down he just caught the ball of flame that was steadily approaching Kumo. It seemed Seifer planned to join in on the fun before Supaiku and brag about it later.

"Hehe...What a punk."

His body was enveloped in an unimaginable heat, enough to easily burn flesh from bone and then turn the latter to dust. Yet his control over the fierce element allowed Seifer to harness it to, ironically, protect his body from the demanding free fall. It was too flashy for his tastes but a mixture of not wanting to be involved in the gut wrenching experience of his Uncle's flash jutsu and said Uncle's nature brushing off on him allowed Seifer to ignore his more traditional senses for now.

At break neck speed the miniature sun rocketed down towards the camp, moving in a direct fashion, Seifer knew his target and he planned to show off his risen power a little, if only to impress a certain someone. The camp Tsuuki had attacked moments before, the same one Komori lurked a safe distance from and the one that Supaiku no doubted planned to lay waste to within a few moments now lay out before him and the ground became closed enough for Seifer to display his idea of making an entrance.

Only a short distance from the ground, the ball of flame flourished forward, striking the ground before blowing back. The sudden force stopped Seifer's decent and sent him backtracking a few metres into the air in a graceful flip before his feet finally struck ground, flames still flowing from his frame as if part of him. His crimson gaze locked onto the charred bodies of a few dozen mercenaries that littered the splash area of his drop, smirking lightly. His flames were much more powerful and wild when fuelled with his emotion, his Uncle had been right.

Tossing his arm out, Seifer let a torrent of flame incinerate another few mercenaries as he broke towards the kunai Tsuuki had dropped as a beacon for Supaiku, grinning as he grasped it and sealed it within a weaponry seal that marked his wrist. Supaiku could wait another while before he got to join in, Seifer had to show the fruits of his training .

"None of you shall make it to the gate." Seifer's words carried no humour, no anger, stating it as a simple fact. One he planned to enforce until everyone in the camp fell by his blades. Slowly his form moved into an appropriate fighting stance as he grasped his trench knives from his chest holsters, mind memorizing every mercenary that moved towards him, remembering their weaponry, how they carried themselves and how much chakra he could sense from them. All would helpful for cutting them down in an efficient manor.

For a moment, as he began to slay the first few men with a vicious yet graceful display of blade combat mixed with brutal taijutsu, Seifer humorously wondered if his Uncle would wait until his flash tag was re-activated or simply throw himself off Rolling Thunder so he could kick Seifer's ass for pulling such a prank.

If you fall down seven times, stand up eight.

Bodies on bodies on bodies laid on the ground, sapped of all their chakra as the partially transformed Ian decimated both ally and enemy, mercenary and shinobi. Tendrils of his chakra cloak had a dozen people in their grasps, and though he initially only had a single tail formed, after draining everyone who had decided not to run, his one tail had split into three. As the last body dropped he let out a small growl, his mind having quickly taken second wheel to the Hachibi. Guttural rumblings slipped from his mouth as he eyed the bodies, looking for some sort of meal to feast on. He wanted chakra, he wanted to devour it all, and there was so much, so so much going around.

In the distance a gigantic dragon blocked out the sky, and around it a few deliciously grand bits of chakra were floating around. They all looked wonderful, and for a moment his eyes simply scanned, looking for the best choice. There were also still plenty of little snacks roaming around, he could feel them all squirming and wriggling, expending their energies. He wanted them all. Should he eat the little ones, or fill up on one big one.

What to do.... What to dooo

Deciding to snack a little more, the beast turned its head to the nearest grouping of small chakras. There were plenty, but there was something blocking him from them. A building... A few buildings... A bunch of buildings.... The people were all spread throughout them, like termites in a mound. He would just have to be the anteater and break it down so t hat he could feast on the tiny little delicacies.

Letting out a deafening roar, the chakra cloak around him began to harden until it was a solid black, and then it began to bubble, and bubble was the absolute best word as pieces of it began to float around him, spheres of black floating in the air almost whimsically. One of his tails faded from existence as the other two first straightened out for a moment before curving over his head, like a fancy headdress, or his own awning. A second, more strained sounding roar caused the bubbles to begin descending, not straight down, but coming together in front of his face, condensing into a large dark grey ball the color deepening with every globule that was assimilated. It was infact very reminiscent of a black hole, sucking in all the light around it, and after a moment, sucking in its own self, the ball shrinking down three times its size until it looked simply like a marble. The intense pressure of what must have been tremendous force cracked the very ground beneath and with a single large gulp, the apparent mouth of the chakra cloak swallowing it for the breifest of moments before letting out a terrible roar, and with it a pure black blast of chakra Which decimated house, store, tavern, armory, and everything else in front of it for almost as far as the eye could see. People were thrown from whatever engagements they had been in, bodies cracking against the ground dead and those who were in the direct path of the beam found themselves no more, incinerated from the contact.

The loss of one of his chakra tails brought Ian back to reality a little, the Hachibi now switching in and out of control. In a weird moment of collaboration, The hachibi asked himself "Too much?", and Ian replied, "Too Much".

Maybe they had a little more in comon than either of them thought.

Re: Death of a Hero [KUMOVENT]

PostPosted by Raika » Thu Sep 06, 2012 10:24 pm

A long series of curses escaped Raika's lips as the black dragon that was suddenly Otoha destroyed her Hospital and the Medical Department, her beloved shooting off after him in a form more obviously his own, though half-draconic.

The sennin barked orders at all nearby, calling everyone that could walk and had any medical training to assist in carrying and caring for the survivors.

Raika dove into the mess herself, seeking out the most critically injured in the wreckage amidst all of the death, so many energies extinguished for good to her pupiless blue eyes.

What she found was Nihon laying broken and barely conscious, a few quick, powerful movements removing rubble from atop him to pick up the boy, medical chakra already flowing from the sennin as she darted back up to the street, dividing her focus between him and barking out locations of lingering survivors to those around her, blue eyes darting from her patient to the wreckage and back, trying to save as many lives as she could with her actions....

And when she finally got Nihon into a stable condition, she handed him off to one of her subordinates to watch over him while she continued the evacuation and rescue.

Whether or not he survived was just up to him now, and how strong his will to live was.

And meanwhile, her beloved was suddenly being knocked around by an Onigami, the one who was obsessively fond of dragons, as she recalled, and a blast of familiar chakra had destroyed the village gates and a good chunk of mercenaries, which meant Supaiku and Tsuuki had likely joined in on the battle.... What else was going to happen in the midst of this mess?

She had stopped by a small shop, grabbing a bottle of water and drinking it dry before she tossed it into the nearest waste receptacle and walked out with Kiyoshi still following her, only to glance back as a blast of black chakra decimated the store they had been in, concussive force knocking her off her feet only to be caught by her companion, resulting in them standing a safe distance away as dim sapphire eyes surveyed the destruction through a veil of tears, quietly pondering the destruction before looking towards its source... and shrugging, resuming her wanderings as she looked up at the sky.

The clash of memories with reality was powerful as she gazed upon a massive black dragon that had once been gold, now evil when before it had been good, now destroying when before it had sought to protect....

"Otoha...."

Her voice was dull, yet soft, her expression unchanging as she simply stared up at the sight of him being attacked, knowing that his enemy would never cause him to fall.

The two samurai had launched into the sky, one wearing some kind of armor while his sword had vanished. The armored one protected the dark dragon that sent chills up and down her spine, suddenly fighting a winged man, while the other turned to the dragon to fight it.

Blue eyes were locked on the fight above for a long moment before her surroundings brought her back to earth in a quick moment, suddenly forced to flee and evade yet more attackers that didn't seem to care whose side the white-haired girl was on....
