Yokai no Shokan

PostPosted by Hanya » Sat Dec 29, 2012 11:13 am

History//Legend of the Clan:

For ages, the Shokan lived in their own subterranean world, named Kuatan, where they had their own society and rules, their own culture, architecture and ways. Occasionally they would come to the surface to hunt for unusual and seemingly rare creatures, taking little note of the developing human race. Still they acknowledged their existence as lesser creatures, and for the most part left them be. Eventually though, the humans became more and more advanced, creating their own true civilization and claiming the land on top of Kuatan as their own, naming it the Demon Country. Every now and then a human would see a Shokan, and if they were smart they would flee, but if they werent and tried to fight them, their demise was almost assured. It eventually became some sort of game to both groups, a hunting game to the Shokan, and a rite of passage to the warriors of the demon country. For centuries the Shokan were dubbed monsters, and the humans thought of more and more ways to kill them, finally taking it too far one day, causing the shokan to mobilize and decimate a few villages before they were both recognized as sentient creatures by the humans, and as possibly allies by both groups. One man, a smart and cunning and unusually strong ruler of a tribe of humans, came to the then king of the Shokan and pleaded for an alliance, so that he could conquer and unite his lands. Seeing the mans ambition he gave him an option, to fight three of his best warriors, and if he could defeat them, then he would have his alliance.

The man accepted the challenge, and using both his mind, and body, in an obvious upset, he defeated the three warriors, and gained his alliance with the Shokan. It was through this alliance that the Shokan gained a home above ground, and a presence in the Demon Country that became something more than myth.

Kekkei Genkai//Bloodline of the Clan:

The Shokan are large creatures that dwarf Humans in size and boast incredible strength. Behind muscular definition and aggressive behavior, their bodies had a unique mutation that placed them in the category of monsters and myths. They are most easily distinguished from humans by each possessing four massive arms complimented by three digits on each hand. At some point they may have been human themselves, but that part of them is long gone. Their eyes are well adapted to low light and even darkness, with large pupils to take in light. Their skin is much tougher than human skin, almost a leathery consistency, with the Tigrar tribe having a layer of fur over it. This is seemingly to protect them from underground living, the tough skin helping them in excavation and general living.

While not a group of shinobi, like many in the demon country they have adopted their own types of ninjutsu, though it is much less dominant in their society, though still quite common. As they practiced and learned, it became apparent that fire was the most common element of the clan, followed by wind, and then occasionally earth. Rarely does a member posses water or lightning. They also have their own style of combat, suited for their own particular body type, involving incredible feats of strength.

Clan Information:

- Clan Training :: The Shokan have their own society where strength is the most common show of power, and fighting, to the death if need be, is their main way of settling disputes. That being said, they physically train from birth, the Draco linage as a sort of ritual, and the lesser Tigrar tribe as they do the physical labor required to keep their society. For those who venture to the surface, as well as the royal family and chosen few others, they are able to learn ninjutsu, though it is a complicated and rigorous practice, the ability to use handseals greatly reduced by their lack of the normal number of digits on their hands.

- Population :: An underground society that has just recently surfaced, the Shokan are a rather large group with a few hundred people in their numbers though only a few have emerged from the underground to interact with the citizens of the Demon Country. Their skin textures vary greatly, including solid yellow/brown colors with darker spots on the back of some, indicative of the royal Draco lineage, and a pattern almost identical to a tiger's stripes, a trait of the lower class Tigrar. What the Draco lack in strength they make up for in intelligence, while the Tigrar are the more fierce, brutal fighters, ruled by their emotions and feelings, and also by the Draco.

- Nature//Values :: Among the Shokan, there is one rule that surpasses all others: survival of the fittest and most ruthless. This seeps into everything they do, from politics to courting rituals to even business. They are a ruthless bunch that will not hesitate to kill when they see fit.

- Political structure :: Their civilization and society is structured under a monarchy with a king and queen ruling their people and representing Kuatan's concerns to the outside world. Their heir is usually a prince in line for the throne. It has been shown that multiple heirs to the throne must compete with one another and demonstrate their ruthlessness by fighting to the death. The victor thus becomes the ruling crown-prince who will eventually inherit the throne. Furthermore, on a single particular day, it was customary to give the King a present.

Full grown members are about 7ft at least, like all the adults are The Big Show's size. Rare for humans, common for them.
