Unmasked [Lethe]

The many towns and cities tucked in the crevices of the world, uncontrolled by any formal power. Some are friendly. Others, not so much.

Unmasked [Lethe]

It had been a few hours ever since Keiichi and Asuka returned to find the partially wrecked zoo, in the meantime Keiichi made sure to get a few things organized like checking on key members of the group and if anything had been taken. The assassins either had no intention of stealing from him or had no time to do it before Taka had gone berserk and attacked them, either way it seemed like everything was in order.

After everything was in order Keiichi relayed a few more orders to Shou and a few Golds before leaving the place, signalling to Asuka to follow him. Ater going through a few districts and having his sense on high alert in case the assassins decided to attack they finally came upon one of the furthest dstricts from the zoo. It was like they suddenly entered a completely different world, from one district to another the scenery changed almost in its entirety.

The city had always been big, busy and dark, the smoke from the factories in the industrial district blocked out part of the sunlight while the skyscrapers from the rich district blocked the rest which meant that few areas received much sunshiny even in the brightest of days. The people were always on the rush, either to or from work, either working or rushing for a quick bite before returning to work and those that neither worked nor rested spent their days in the shopping district wasting away their parents' money on expensive clothing and other useless fashion materials. During the night the streets were busy for another reason as the night scene was always bright from unnatural lights and filled with the younger crowed enjoying, and often ruining, their youth.

But the area they entered was an anomaly, located on the edge of the city it was bright and sunny compared to every other area. The houses were all big and clean with large front and back yards, the people moved at a slower and more relaxed pace, the children played in the street and neighbours exchanged pleasantries while tending to their gardens.

"Ever been to this side of town? The Hanza run this area, they think they are some kind of vigilante squad and enforce the peace at all costs."

A group of children was kicking a ball around in the middle of the road without a care in the world but when they notice Keiichi approaching they immediately drop what they were doing an run to him waving their arms and giving him bright smiles.

"Yuki-nii!!! Do you have candy?"

One of the kids calls out to him, obviously unaware as to what Keiichi's real name was.

"Yea! Candy! Candy!"

One of the chubbier kids calls out while gripping his shirt and pulling him down to their level, immediately the other kids swarmed on him, pulling his clothes as well and happily asking for candy with the others.

"Ok ok, hold on."

Surprisingly, instead of getting angry at the annoying children like usual, Keiichi starts laughing with the kids and reached for his bag, taking a large hand full of candy with rainbow coloured wrapping that the kids nearly ripped from his hand, thanked him and ran away to a small park nearby.

"Yuki-san! You spoil those kids so much."

A woman walking by the scene said, she had a baby stroller with her and gave him a big smile much like everyone in there.

"No worries, my parents own a candy company so I always have a lot of candy on me."

With his explanation the woman gave a bow and continued her casual walk, though she did eye Keiichi's companion up and down and release a snicker.
Keiichi got to his feet and straightened his clothing while giving Asuka a grin and a wink, pressing his index to his lips as if telling her to hold all questions for the end of the trip.

After walking for about ten more minutes the two come upon a modest one story home, the garden was quite well kept and the entrance was clean though the house looked somewhat old, but still in great shape. Keiichi casually took out a key and inserted it into the keyhole.

"This is one of my places in the city. Come right in and relax."

He said as he entered through the door and left the door open for Asuka. After entering he lazily removed his shoes, leaving them on the ground at the entrance and continued bare foot, moving straight to the second room on the right, the kitchen. While inside he opened the fridge and after a few moments of looking through it took out a can of beer, opened it and called out to Asuka.

"Yo, wanna drink anything? I got beer, beer, beer and orange juice."

Back in her old cloths, though still her original skin, Asuka was disengaged from following Keiichi around as he set in place his security measures in lieu of the recent attack. At the very least it gave her time to start recovering some of the chakra she had burnt through in the failed assassination attempt. Though that didn't seem to be a problem for Keiichi, who she preceived as having higher than the average amount.

Asuka hadn't caught much of the city on her way into the zoo. Spectating wasn't really an interest of hers, and she wasn't much of a people person, absolutely despising large crowds. When people were packed in too tight all you could smell was the fester human depravity, apparent by the lines and lanterns running between the narrow corridors of the more public housing they passed through before entering into the more suburban homesteads. Though evening exiting out of the fray brought with it is own problems, in particular the horde of children that rapidly surrounded the surprisingly sociable man.

As the horde of youth gathered around the man, the cross-armed Asuka found a tug on the edge of her robs from a small hand belonging to a little girl holding a stuffed rabbit from the looks of it. She seemed smaller then the rest of the children, no so much in age but in stature, and wasn't about to fight the mob that would likely force her out were she to try. Asuka didn't have candy or concern for when the girl asked her when she crouched down, but she also didn't like the idea of all the boys making off with the loot while leaving this petite girl high and dry. The theft reached over and plucked a sucker out of the hands of one of the fatter boys that was about to shove it in his mouth and handed it off to the girl.

"There, happy now?" With a smile and a head bow, the girl ran off, leaving Asuka in the immediate company of a crying fat child overreacting by the loss of his candy despite himself having a handful more of it. Back to her usual scowl she snapped, "What do I look like, a piñata?" The angry response, in contrast to hand off of the candy, was enough to send the boy running along with the crowd of other kids fleeing with their prizes.

Asuka stood back up and gave no attention to the glances from the young mother other than recognizing that the same pseudonym the kids had used for Keiichi seemed to be universally known on this side of town. Continuing on their way, the typically mannerless woman instinctively followed tradition and removed her almost knee high leather boots at the door and sat them neatly by the entryway. It was about the only sign so far she had shown of not having been completely raised by wolves.

Walking barefoot through the antique home, she made her way to a sofa positioned within view of the kitchen and sat down at the middle cress between two cushions. Her arms were out to her side with the upper portions of them resting on the top of the sofa while her forearms hung off towards the front. Her head leaned back and her neck followed the curve of the cushion, though instead of looking up to the ceiling her one eye closed almost like she was ready to nap in place.

"Personally I'd prefer something with more of a burn." That was her way of saying that, like a lot of woman, she wasn't partial towards a beer. Though far from sober minded, sake or whiskey was her pick for poisons. "So what's real story with the candy, Yuki-san?" She added sarcastically, her head tilting towards Keiichi as her eye reopened. "You some kind of sicko that gets his kicks by giving kids their jollies?" You could tell it wasn't a serious accusation. Crass was Asuka's level of comfort.

After Asuka's answer Keiichi shrugged his shoulders, took out three more cans and closed the fridge door, the can rose up to his lips and he took in a big gulp, showing a delighted expression when the cold alcohol traveled down his throat. Keiichi had odd tastes, he truly loved the taste of beer, never much of a sweets kind of person he always found that sour and salty were two of the best tastes he could find. Considering that due to his special blood he couldn't get drunk, beer was pretty much to him the same as drinking a juice was to everyone else, he could drink as much as he wanted and the only effect it would have was making him take more trips to the bathroom. He some times wondered what it felt like to be drunk or even high.

As he drank, Keiichi made his way to Asuka and dropped the extra cans on a table next to the couch she had chosen to relax on, followed by his black coat and started opening his red shirt with the free hand to feel more comfortable, he doubted Asuka would even care and neither did he. While opening the shirt he made his way to a small cabinet in the corner of the room and started searching for something within it.

"I think Sei left something last time she was here."

He mumbled as his free hand pushed some stuff around but when she started mentioning the candy Keiichi couldn't help but laugh out loud at her joke. Finally his hand grabbed a hold of something inside the cabinet and took it out, revealing it to be a glass bottle with a clear liquid and a torn label. Keiichi turned around and dropped the bottle on the couch next to Asuka and moved to pick up a nearby chair which he sat on, putting his chest to the back of the chair and facing her. The drink he gave her was something akin to vodka but stronger, a drink his sister brought to his place along with Saint, a few weeks before in an attempt to get him drunk but after a few shots the two were out for the rest of the night, and like usual he remained unaffected.

"You could say it's a little experiment. Here, don't eat it though."

He reached for his pocket while drinking another mouth full, took out the last piece of candy he had on him and throw it at Asuka for her to look at. Like the others it had a rainbow colored wrapping paper and the candy itself was a simply and hard multicolored ball.

"Some of our guys made those with very small doses of Stardust, I'm using the kids to see how addictive they are. Looks like the effects are pretty mellow, just makes the kids happier and jumpier but doesn't seem to effect adults much, though as you could see, they are starting to get quite addicted to it."

He drank the rest of the beer and crushed the can with just one head. It wasn't long before he threw the empty can away on top of the table and replaced it with a full one, immediately drinking a bit from it.

"It's give and take, your turn. What's with the boner for money? You saving up for an early retirement? Nice quiet house in the suburbs with a husband, two kids and a dog?"

He was quite curious about Asuka, there wasn't much he actually knew about her other than a few of her combat abilities and her apparent great allegiance to whoever offered the higher pay and considering they had time to kill and a relaxed environment to talk he figured he'd get to knew more about the assassin he hired very recently.

Asuka leaned forward and picked up the unmarked jug. Twisting off the top, she caught the piece of candy with the cap still in hand. With a toss, the cap landed on the table as the rainbow colored wrapping was held at the end between her fingers. Before inspecting it, however, the woman took a swig of whatever it was Keiichi had found for her, letting the alcohol sear her throat a moment before putting the bottle down and holding the colorful candy before her good eye. With a spin she looked at it without unwrapping it. There was no need to since she had already seen plenty of it with the mob of children earlier, and it wasn't like she was going to go against Keiichi's suggestion of not eating it considering that it was addictive for more than just the sugar in it.

She slapped the candy back down beside the cap before snatching back up the bottled beverage. "Smart thinking. No one ever would be suspicious of kids craving candy." It actually wasn't a bad market to test out whatever drug it was they were pushing.

She took another long gulp as Keiichi egged her on. Unlike him, Asuka wasn't immune to the effects of alcohol, though that's what made it fun. "F*%k no!" She snapped as the bottle dropped to her side. Still in hand, it rested on the cushion next to her as she looked over to the white-haired man. "I'm not the barefoot and pregnant type, and any man that's got the sack to think I am won't for long." Her other hand threw up her tanto and caught it at the tip of the blade with it pointing straight up. She return the blade almost as quick as she brought it out, but she wasn't jesting.

"What reason does anyone need for liking money? It's the only thing in this world that's got any shred of reliability to it. Those with it don't want for a thing in life, and those without it can do nothing but kill themselves in the pursuit of such luxury. I've lived life on both sides of that spectrum, so you can't fault a girl for keeping her fiscal wits about her." She said with another short swig. She was probably underestimating how alcoholic it the bottle was she was gulping down, but after what had happened with the failed assassination she really needed a drink. "Your turn. These freaks you keep about you, where do you find them all? Most gangs aren't quite so individualistic."

Keiichi couldn't help but laugh at her crude answer, her whole style was actually quite interesting to him as not many of the women around him acted the way she did. As odd as it may seem even within a large criminal gang women like her were a rarity, then again most of the gang was composed of male members with the females being mostly sluts, the worst of them being Queen. There were other exceptions but their behavior was completely different, like Saint and her extremely polite and and careful speech toward everyone but Ashura, Miki's extremely annoying behavior and way of speaking that just seemed to piss off everyone with ease, Shizuha's forced cold and professional style and even his sister's weird combination of slutty demeanor with prim and posh speech.

He gave a few nods as she explained her passion for money and shugged down the entire can of beer in his hand. He was never one to give much value to money, he was used to getting what he wanted and taking by force what he wasn't given, that was why all the money making operations the gang started to run were nothing more than activities to pass the time and satisfy curiosity as the only ones that clearly cared about money were the rest of the gang members, and happy members meant obedient members. Like his father once taught him "a wounded dog may fear you, but the moment you turn your back it will strike" thus while it would certainly be faster and easier to rule through fear, ruling using pleasure was much better on the long run.

A small laugh left him after her question, she was right in that the gang was basically a mismatched group of freaks, especially at the higher ranks, however...

"You're talking like you ain't a freak too..."

Asuka had shown to be as odd and unique as the rest of the gang with her demeanor, near obsessive focus on money and strange abilities, but he liked that...he wasn't one for banning individualism, he actually promoted it. After finishing the beer he crushed it and dropped it next to the piece of candy Asuka had discarded moments earlier, immediately picking another one up but not opening it right away.

"Well anyway, this is what happens when you let just about anyone join as long as they keep their blades away from your back."

Karasu no Ha, anyone can join, anyone can be a member but to survive and move up in it you have to be smart enough not to f.uck with the leaders and do as they say. That made it dangerous, they had an unknown number of members and just about anyone could be a member, even those within other gangs. Of course there were drawbacks to such a policy but there were countermeasures in place for them.

"As for the Platinums...I've known Shou since we were kids. Ashura and Taka were some discarded trash I picked up from my old man, Queen just showed up one day looking for a place where she could do as she pleased and get whatever she wanted and Saint...it's complicated."

His finger moved to open the can of beer and he lifted it toward Asuka as if signaling a toast, prompting her to drink more, before shugging nearly half of it down in one go. He had answered her question and it was again her turn, he had a special question he wanted to ask but that would be best after she had a bit more to drink, thus he tried another.

"Your turn...what's with the eye?"

He asked pointing to her eyepatch.

"Ha, all the things you could ask and you pick the patch." She said as her hand holding the bottle pointed the tip of it at her covered eye. "It's been bugging you, hasn't it? Not sure which to look at." She waved the bottle between her patch and her exposed socket before tilting her head and the bottle back to drink more of the truth serum down, finally starting to feel a buzz.

"Truth is I lost the retina awhile back in a fight, but the optic nerve's still intact. I focused my sensor training on that. Only problem being now the d@mn thing never turns off. The patch seals it in. Without it being in a crowd would be disorienting, not that I'm much of a people person." She said with another quick swing. "Helps keep me from burning through chakra though."

Since the eye itself was destroyed, her perception abilities aren't strictly limited to her direct line of sight. In the same token, however, it also meant she was incapable of actually seeing chakra flow directly. Instead it was just a cognition, one that still told her enough about the chakra she sensed, but it wasn't anything like the Byakugan. Getting a replacement eye might actually improve her select vision, but she didn't trust anyone enough for such an operation.

"While we're on the subject of that though, what's up with yours? Chakra that is? You've more of it than average, and the black nature of it's out of the ordinary." She had originally told him that his chakra was nothing special back when they had crossed in that club. However, she'd been rethinking that assessment after seeing what he could do with it up front and in person. Seemingly, it could control other people and manifest itself physically enough to pulverize people.

Keiichi paid full attention to her explanation, truth or not it was always good to know more about her. Even if the information she was "disclosing" wasn't entirely truthful it wasn't complete bullshit either, every good lie has a bit of truth in it. However he hoped that the combination of relaxed mood and heavy drinking was enough to allow her to give him the better details. It was however, a surprisingly good use of an injury, normal people morn the loss of a part of themselves but the strongest and most dangerous are always those that look at a missing arm and think of attaching a blade to it rather cry over the fact that they can no longer hold a pen with the missing hand.

"Interesting, I like knowing what those working for me are capable of...you know why."

Backstabbing was always a possibility in any business, even in those that on the surface appear to be the holiest of organizations only manage to stay afloat through the shadiest of dealings and often those do not end well. Asuka was a special case in that unlike the others her loyalty was solely with he who paid the most and it wouldn't be surprising if at some point in the future she turned on him and sunk one of her own black blades into his back in return for a fat pay. However the tradeoff for threading such a dangerous line was great as she was possibly one of the strongest allies he had at the time and if Shou was right about the assassins from the night before, they would be needing the best of the best.

He listened to her follow-up question while drinking more beer. She asked the question he was expecting, it only made sense that she would ask him about his black chakra after he himself asked about her abilities during his turn. But it was never something he tried to hide, he took pride in the power granted to him by the parasite in his body and he knew that even if you knew about how it worked, it didn't mean you'd be able to protect yourself from it.

"I am my father's son, that's what I was told since I was a baby."

Though he was born with a different hair color, every other feature was similar to that of his father's along with most of his abilities and twisted gears in his head, something he was reminded over and over by his mother growing up.
His free hand rose up and the index finger pointed up toward the ceiling. Black chakra began to flow out and formed a small black star over the finger that began to spin faster and faster for a few seconds. Then it suddenly stopped and its shape was already different as it was changed into a cube that soon morphed into a ball and then cylinder and a triangle and so on, the shapes constantly changing every second.

"I call her Hime, you could say she's a demon though what she really is...well let's say it's more complicated than that. It's like a plague and I have full control over it, regardless of where or who it is in."

He couldn't control people's minds with his black chakra, but he could turn them into puppets. The chakra was like a virus and once it entered someone's system it infected it and spread. He had perfect control over it, forcing the black energy inside someone to their limbs against their will became an easy task with a bit of practice.
The chakra over his finger finally stopped in the shape of a small ball before seemingly melting away and returning into his body.

"Right then I'm curious...what do you think of our little group?"

The question, though he was a bit curious, was more for stalling as he noticed she started getting buzzed and so a little more and he could get to the juicier questions.

"Didn't peg you for a daddy's boy." She scoffed barely dropping the jug from her lips before doing one more quick shot as Keiichi went on to explain his abilities. Finally, the bottle found its way to rest on the edge of the table, still close enough to be in reach as she slipped back into the sofa. Her motion sensitivity was always rather high only having one eye to gauge distances off of, but the alcohol certainly wasn't helping with anything. Though her disorderly eye paid close attention to the swirling chakra her employer was churning up.

That explained the stunt with the captured man earlier, both of them actually. She wanted to go on and ask him if his little miss demon looked anything like the flashing vision she had seen just before her sensing shorted out, but she wasn't going to waste another question on something like that, since the last one on it didn't actually yield all too detailed an explanation. Still, it was smart of him not to go trusting her just because they had gotten a little drunk together. Asuka didn't know how little an impact the beers had one Keiichi, and her skills at observations weren't quite up to par even if her guard wasn't gone.

"I think you're all a bunch of lunatics." Her feet kicked up and overlapped as they rested on the table near the bottle of unknown liquid. "And you're running a gambit you might not be glad you had. Me aside, all this originality's gonna put you in a bad way one of these days. Way things look, there's least one rat already in the mix." The kind of risk letting anyone into an organization brought was that you never really knew who you were letting in. If Keiichi believed the story he'd been told back at the mansion, there was already one person in the gang selling information to the other side. Even without that problem, however, it was all on him. Whether through intimidation or intimacy, it was on him to hold back the extremely diverse group from devolving into the chaos they were all, in part, previously spawned form. "Might be time to start floating some bad intel out there and see where it pops up, but you don't need me as a strategist."

As she talked her hand reached down to pluck out the long pipe she carried at her waste. Padding down the dried leaves with her thumb, a small spark of Katon started the smoke at its in as she drew in before exhaling a ring of smoke that had anything but a tobacco smell. "So why'd you bring me in to begin with? I wasn't exactly auditioning back at the strip joint, and you could have scrapped up the talent for the botched raid anywhere."

There was really no other way of taking her mention of the being lunatics as anything but a compliment, prompting Keiichi to let out a laugh and raise the can in his hand as if toasting her wonderful description of their wonderful group of misfit miscreants and freaks. But she was right, it was a risky play he was making with taking anyone in, even with the countermeasures he had set up he knew perfectly well that nothing is completely fool-proof and the evidence of that lay back at the zoo as the corpses of the lower ranking members were piled up and taken elsewhere to be burned. Ha he been there, had Taka not been there to snap and raise an alarm, who knows what would have happened.

Then again, it was also exciting to know that there was a large target on his back...it meant that the possibility of getting into trouble skyrocketed. He hated his father, but he still had the same blood in his veins, the same blood that made them love the thrill of a good fight.

"Or great intel."

He quickly added right after Asuka mentioned spreading around bad intel and gave her a wink while gulping down the last bit of beer he had on his hand. Good information in the wrong hands could result in bad outcomes...unless you want that information to fall into the wrong hands.

"Would you believe me if I tell you that I fell in love with you at first sight?"

He jokingly responded to her own question adding a wink and a fang filled grin. She was hot, there was no denying that, plus her personality had a certain charm to it, for him but it was still nothing but a joke.

"Aaaahh...but seriously. I told you before, I liked the way you moved and I needed more strong people to join the family. Could I have taken any of the others to the mission? Sure, originally I wasn't even going to go, just went to keep an eye on you. But I needed someone like you."

Keiichi paused for a moment to choose his next words a bit more carefully but eventually started speaking again.

"It's not that I trust you much yet, but I do trust in that you follow the pay and work hard for it. I saw it in your eyes...eye...as long as you get paid I can turn my back to you. The others are different and unpredictable, you're a pro."

Of course he wasn't basing everything on his gut instinct, she wouldn't have been the only one to do some digging on them before deciding to accept his invitation to join, he did some digging of his own on her and he liked what little he could find...even the fact that he could find little about her was a good sign in his eyes.
Besides, even if his eyes weren't on her it didn't mean his guard was down, one thing he could always trust was that Hime always had his back above everyone else.

"And while we're on the subject, why did you accept the offer so quickly anyway? Sure you'd get paid, but it's not like we're the richest and most stable group around to work for."

"Pst" She wasn't expecting such an adulated answer, but it didn't inspire much confidence in Asuka if she was the pro-help they needed. In her eye she was just making a living, not a name.

She leaned forward and retrieved the bottle of vodka like drink. Before answering the next question, she tilted her head back and took the longest sip she had from the searing alcohol. Her need for a drink was in part because of how the two of them had met. She was a marked woman around these parts after the stunt at the strip club. She couldn't show her face at a bar unless if showing off Kokoro's instead, but she didn't like drinking outside her own body since any of her others didn't have as high a tolerance as the original. "I've already explained my typical routine. Do a job in one place, move along to another. Helps keep any friends I make along the way from catching up with me, and I do hate reunions." After putting the drink back down she took a few more puffs of her pipe, the small stream of smoke coming from it making loops in the air like a snake coiling around itself. "Can't blame a girl for wanting to slow down every now and again. If I wasn't here I'd be off near Konoha or Yuki again with no guarantee of any significant work. At least here things are steady until they become boring and I take off again. As for why I didn't wait the full week. I could hardly pick up another job without bumping into your competitors, and I'm sure the bounty on me is high enough after that stunt from the last job that I'd go around attracting attention just waiting around."

She had been doing this long enough to know the process. The murder in the club was all about publicity. She'd known that before agreeing to the job. Her employers wanted not just someone that could get it done, but also take the rap for it. Even if the bounty wasn't all that high yet, there were always low lives and hunters in cities like this looking to just score a haul. Helps with there reputations, and keeps them financed until bigger game comes by. Besides, she may have been lying when she said she hated all reunions. There's one in particular she wouldn't mind having, but to bring that about she'd have to make herself somewhat noticeable in the underground.

"What's the endgame for you in all this? Carve out some territory, sure. As someone financially fixated, I can tell you're not in it for greed. You've got too many people on payroll for that, and if you were in it for power there's dozen of other cities with less competition in it that you could have opened up shop in. From what I can tell, this whole gang came from you. You brought these freaks together, you dictate prerogatives, but what's it all for?" She wasn't expecting a straight answer. The two of them have been trading half-truths, but that's how something like this went. Still, several other of Asuka's questions have beat around a similar theme. As someone that didn't like getting attached, she didn't really want personal information about the man. She couldn't care less who his father was, or who he's screwing, but you don't just prop up a gang because you were bored.

In a way Keiichi was already expecting that question to come up but when it did he still hesitated for a few moments. He planted his feet on the ground and stood up from the chair that had been supporting him and made his way to the nearest window that led to the small backyard of the house. His eyes wandered around the green grass on the outside and then turned to face her with a smile on his face.

"Ask anyone, new members, old members, platinums, our enemies, the general public, the law and they will all say the same thing...we're just a group of psychos that get off on causing chaos. It's all for fun!"

One of the greatest appeals of Karasu no Ha was that members were allowed to join in and do whatever they wanted, as long as they followed what the higher ranks said then they could do what they wanted no matter how twisted it was. They became known because of their parties where they simply took over an area and plunge it into utter chaos for no reason other than "because they can".
Of course different people had different reasons for joining up much like Asuka. People like Queen liked to feel like royalty, do what she wants and have an army of minions following her to do the rest. Others like Shou sought protection from their past while wanting to maintain a certain level of lifestyle. And some joined because they simply had nowhere else to go.

"Hell, ask my sister and she'll start talking about unresolved daddy issues and I can't really deny."

Even the way he spoke and choice in words would remind anyone of his father...if they were unfortunate enough to know them both. He was always aware of his issues regarding his father, that he grew obsessed with surpassing his old man in order to prove that he wasn't just some Mini-Ryuuchi stuck in his father's shadow. He never denied it and even embraced his issues, he found that he was what he was and there was no point escaping that train of thought.

"Then again I guess these answers aren't really what you're looking for..." he stepped closer to Asuka and dropped down on the couch next to her "...I'm perfectly sane, but when I tell others that the reason they all laugh and call me crazy. Truth is, I have absolutely no idea what the end game is! It all just happened, but hey...maybe some day I'll figure out a real purpose for it."

It wasn't lie and it wasn't a secret...he made the gang because could and it kind of grew by itself from there.

"But I'll tell you what, these past few weeks have made things much more interesting. And now for my question...who did you see when you first met Queen? I was expecting a reaction but not to that extent...was she right? Lover, family?"

She may have actually believed in the unrequited daddy issues excuse, but the answer that there wasn't a purpose was not much of an answer at all. Still, Asuka wasn't expecting much. In the end, she didn't really care. Wasn't like she was making a permanent home in this slum of a city. Keiichi had been right on one thing, though, recent events did make the game more interesting. She'd stick around just to see how it played out...that, and because she was still getting paid.

"I'm not playing this sh!t game anymore!" That too was probably a reaction he had expected. Just after the man had joined her on the couch did he find himself alone on the furniture as Asuka jumped up. The drunk girl, whose buzz didn't hit her until she stood, clumsily hit her shin against the table, dropping the bottle onto it. The glass cylinder fell to its side and made an arc as it rolled, though it was so near empty nothing spilled out. Rather, the clear alcohol just swished like waves along the length of the bottle as Asuka stumbled her way over to behind the kitchen credenza, a hand on her head. "D@mn it all, you got me drunk!"

She hadn't intended to lower her guard this much. Behind the counter that separated living space from the kitchen she ponderously turned the faucet and splashed a handful of cold water against her face before dropping down and out of sight for a moment. Standing back up, her now gloved hand shut off the water before she turned a different face to her host. "You're a manky bastard, you know that? Suck a waste of good liquor." She was back to the Kokoro body she had greeted him with when first accepting his proposal, and seemingly was more angry over not being drunk anymore instead of having to switch out forms just to be sober-minded. "Is that what you like to do to girls? Get them drunk?" Coming around the corner of the counter her whole appearance was different now, right down to the close and the weapons she carried. She wore black shorts, and a decorative black vest that had a long trailed that went down pass her lower garb. On either side of her were daggers, but all in all the entire getup with much neater of wears than what Asuka had just sported, as what the hair atop her head, which no longer had an eyepatch on it. About the only thing similar between the two bodies was the raven black hair, and the proportions.

"Well you can skip the part where you have your way with me. I'm a black widow. I'll only lay with a man so I can stick a knife through his heart." She stood on the other side of the coffee table looking down at him. For as mad as she was making herself out to be, she had just given him half his answer. It was the kind of confession she could deny later if she wanted to. One that came without the feeling as if they had bonded. "And unlike some people I don't have daddy issues. Can't even remember my parents faces'." And there was part of the answer to the second half of the question.

She crossed her arms and turned away from Keiichi. "As I've said before, that b!tch takes her form again and I'll kill her. You've got a sister," She cocked her head back towards the man. "Imagine how you'd like it to see her face whored about."

"You clearly don't know my sister...having Queen go around with her face would likely earn her a better reputation than what she has now."

The mention of his sister had made him grin, Seiteki was far worse than what Asuka could possibly know, so much that even Queen with her overwhelming and unending sense of pride and superiority not only seemed to respect Seiteki but in some ways, fear her and not just because she was Keiichi's lovable twin sister. The girl had a way about her and how she did things that not even Keiichi fully understood and in some ways she seemed to be the one to inherit their father's insanity the most, it made her unpredictable and dangerous to everyone but him. One second she could be screwing a random guy in a back alley and the next she could be stabbing him for no reason. She could arrange a few girls to "entertain" her brother but take out their eyes when one so much as looks at him and then start screaming about how he never pays attention to her. She may profess her undying love to a man and the next day kill his family as payback for making her think odd things. She had a particular brand of insanity and unfortunately he often found himself in the middle of it.

"But calm down will you? If I wanted to bang you, then you can be damn sure I'd have done it by now..."

He stood up but instead of moving toward her, Keiichi simply moved to pick up the downed bottle emptied the rest of the contents in a single gulp.
It might sound like bragging if he were to say it but honestly he could have any woman he wanted and those that refused him, wouldn't have much say in the matter anyway...that's the kind of guy he was, when he wanted something, really wanted something then little could stand in the way of getting it. However, sex never interested him much, it was a short lived pleasure to him, one he could easily do without for a long time. But then again, if a thrilling element of danger were to be introduced, then things would be different.

"Though now that you mention it...doing a 'Black Widow' doesn't sound too bad. At least it'd be fun during AND afterward."

He jokingly said as he finally made his way toward the woman with a new face that stood in front of him, he stopped just short of her, making sure not to invade her personal space too much as he still knew what she was capable of.

"But hey, if we're talking about a last lay...it better be the damn best....and with the other you, I like her more."

He gave her a quick wink and then started laughing while moving past her and making his way outside the room. As he moved he placed the empty bottle on the kitchen counter and starter taking off his shirt and flung it over his shoulder.

"I'ma go take a shower, haven't had one since yesterday. Make yourself at home and all that."

Then he stopped right after opening the door to the bathroom and turned his head slightly back so he could see her.

"You're welcome to join if you want, Black Widow."

His tone was fully mocking her, her reactions from before had amused him quite a lot and with the information he managed to gather along the way, Keiichi couldn't be in a better mood. He went inside but left the door slightly ajar, now last taunt toward her that made him grin.

"That wasn't an invitation!" She yelled down the hall at the oafish man she couldn't believe she was in the employ of. She would have chucked something at the back of his head if it would have made a difference, but her Kokoro form wasn't anywhere near the athlete her own body was. However, that didn't prevent the delicate, gloved hands of a woman more suited for Fuuinjutsu from picking up the emptied glass bottle in preparation for the gesture. Finding herself holding the emptied jug, she simmered her temper as she plopped down on one of the stools on the other side of the kitchen isle.

A disappointed gaze started down the length of the clear, hollow glass. "And now we're out of booze." She tossed the jug back down in a spin along it side, the nozzle eventually stopping to point straight towards her. "Perfect!" She slumped.

She got up from her stillness and passed by the half-cracked bathroom door to explore the rest of the house while she was not otherwise entertained. Maybe the real reason why it hadn't taken her long to respond to Keiichi's proposal in the first place is because she always got so antsy inside Kokoro's body, but somethings of a personality just can't be killed off.

The shower was quick, only lasting a few minutes in all, truth be told Keiichi might be an evil bastard with no morals but he never fell into the rough thug stereotype with a lack of hygiene, in fact he always liked water and the feeling of stepping out of a nice shower. He knew of others that felt proper hygiene was overrated and that the musky scent of their manliness just added points into their "badass meter" but in truth, Keiichi was always more worried about the ones that took care of themselves, the men in good suits and a classy look. But he was still lacking in the manners department.

The door opened and out he came, a red towel over his wet hair while the rest of his body remained as the day he was born, completely bare. As he dried off his hair Keiichi made his way through the small hallway toward his room, spotting Asuka along the way which made him grin.

"I'm hurt you didn't take my invitation."

He said mockingly toward her but waited for no response as he immediately entered his room, leaving the door wide open as he threw the towel on the bed and made his way to closet. His room was actually quite simplistic, a king size bed against one of the walls with clean white sheets, an old wooden closet on the wall with the only window and a dresser under said window that matched the closet, a desk opposite the bed with a few drawers and bookshelves on both sizes of the door filled with manga much like the one room back in the reptile house. But the room felt bare, no pictures or paintings on the white wall, not even a poster, the whole room felt like it hadn't seen much use though it was quite well kept.

"You're welcome to take a shower or a bath if you want...can't promise I won't peek, but I'll be prepared to face the consequences of crossing a Black Widow."

He spoke with cheeky grin and released a laugh afterward, as he did he opened the closet and started taking his pick of the clothing he'd be wearing next, opting for a simple black shirt and a pair of dark blue pants, nothing very stylish but still practical.
