Although Daisuke wasn't able to catch most of Akemi's explanation of the weird guy's abilities, he was still capable of figuring out the rest and fill in the blanks...it wasn't his first time dealing with mutations. But the thought that the enemy was in possession of such an ability was quite worrisome, the man was capable of easily injecting a group of soldiers with a powerful drug and greatly enhanced their abilities, though this would be incredibly damaging to the ones gaining the power on the long run it still allowed for a dangerous offense during their attack. And this was on a small scale, sure enough two people of Daisuke and Akemi's skill were able to deal with the threat effectively but just imagining a whole army enhanced like that was very frightening.

Daisuke had expected the threat of the soldiers to have been dealt and done with but it seemed like the freak had other ideas in mind, using the bodies of the soldiers, reanimating them and heavily mutating them by fusing the bodies into one. Catching the man was out of the question while they had to worry about the monster he had created so Daisuke didn't even bother attacking him, instead he made his was closer to Akemi and signaled to her while keeping an eye on the freak of nature they would be fighting.

"We be keepin it busy, yah wait an busted in one go."

It was better that way since they didn't know full well what the monster was capable of doing at that stage. Daisuke had notice Akemi's byakugan which he knew well, Noriko had the same eyes as her, meaning that she would be capable of spotting a weakness on the monster and exploit it. All Daisuke had to do was keep the thing busy and moving to give her time to spot the right moment to take it down in a single attack to minimize both energy expenditure and risk of heavy damage.

"Link up!"

Daisuke shouted at the three giant rats that remained on the other side of the monster and they promptly responded with a loud "Yes sir" before both they put their paws together while Daisuke did a few handseals. Once the link was set up they were able to communicate without requiring their voices and using it Daisuke gave out the others.

Kazu and Aoi, charge me up. Jirou with me.

The rats confirmed their orders telepathically as well and acted immediately. Two of the rats dropped down in order to stand on all fours focusing their chakra. The third rat got into a combat stance and awaited for Daisuke's command. The though process for the plan was simple, Daisuke's link jutsu allowed the exchange of chakra between those linked (summoner and summons), allowing the two rats to transfer part of their chakra to Daisuke. He chose this in part to replenish the chakra used to summon them in also because they were not suited for combating the monster. Kazu and Aoi were practitioners of the Earth Stance, one of the styles of the Wu Xing Quan style that focused on powerful and destructive offense but no defense, however the beast seemed much stronger than the soldiers who's physical power seemed equal to theirs. Jirou on the other hand was a practitioner of the Wind Stance which focused on evasion and counter attacking, making him a great match for keeping the monster busy.
It was all a matter of using the pawns in hand to the best of their abilities given the situation at hand.

Daisuke and Jirou then engaged the monster, they played it safe on the defensive, Jirou using his evasion techniques to circle around before, during and after each attack but not executing any attack aside from the odd one to keep the beast's focus. Daisuke on the other hand used his damage nullification techniques and anti-weapon counters, not moving around much from the same spot he started at. Normally he would have used his grappling techniques or the Metal Stance point attacks to take the beast down himself however with all the mutations and no access to special eyes like Akemi, it was hard to know if normal human anatomy still applied to the freak.

Gehhh, things were not going as well as she would have expected and she couldn’t understand why, each time she thought she was manoeuvring into an advantageous position these bastards brought her back down always proving to be a step ahead of her. She had just taken those two women at the inn and marked them certain that they would lead her to their people only to have a small group of soldiers and that freak appear out of nowhere and confront them right here on the streets which would most likely attrack Samurai to them...

"We be keepin it busy, yah wait an busted in one go."

She nodded to him in acknowledgement and turned her gaze towards the rampaging creature as Daisuke and his rats confronted it. The creature moved with surprising speed and grace, each blow it struck came crushing down with ground shaking might, its two heads and upper bodies allowing it to cover its own blind side, a single one of these was extremely dangerous, but an army of them could prove overwhelming.

Damn it, she could sense them now, approaching the village rapidly... Samurai, half a dozen of them, one in particular which significant energy, they’d be here within a few minutes...

Fine then, focusing her attention on the creature, Akemi took in its every move, its every maneuver, her gaze saw deeper though, penetrating to see into its body, and further to its very chakra. Few could truly understand just how much these eyes of hers could see, few could conceive just how much they revealed. It didn’t take long to see that each torso’s mobility was limited by the other, only one of them ever lunged at a time, the other quickly retracting just before the move happened. Her penetrating sight allowed her to see that both of the upper bodies spinal cords merged at a point just over their waist, there she could see the chakra used to create this thing pooled and centered... this was the spot to strike to take it out in one strike, further her eyes noticed that with its height, though either head turned from side to side regularly allowing it sight of nearly the entirety of the battle field around them, neither head ever looked up, of course neither had needed to thus far against the rats...

Choosing her moment as both heads of the creature were busy with Daisuke’s team, her right hand reaching behind her grabbing hold of small bladed weapon, she bolt forth at full sprint for half a dozen steps before leaping high into the air, the small weapon extending into the full length of her spear now gripped in both hands, she came crashing upon the creature, her feet landing one on either of their backs and forcing them apart ramming her spear down into the base of their spines where they met as her own chakra flowed through it and into them. The creature seemed to spasm for a moment, before falling limp and dead as Akemi twisted her spear blade dislodging breaking the base of the spines.

Leaping off as the creature fell to the ground, Akemi’s spear shrunk back to its short blade form and was sheathed by the time she touched ground again a few feet from Daisuke.

”This little fight of ours here’s gotten some unwanted attention, Samurai are entering the town.” She said pointing towards where they were coming from, ”We don’t have much time.” She began to form seals to summon one of her Hawks, It was time to leave or they'd be in for another fight, and this fight they did not need and did not have time for, but did they have a choice?..

"Captain! I can sense strong energies from up ahead."

An Onigami samurai shouted at his superior charging up in front of group of about fifteen samurai, all clad in the clan's attire and carrying the symbol of the Sixth Squad on their backs. The Shishiku Protection Squad had received reports of commotion in a nearby area and the new captain of the squad still wanting to prove himself to his much older colleagues, decided to check it out. He too could sense the powers up ahead and they were energy levels that could rival his own, two of them being much stronger than the rest, making the captain choose to hang back with the rest of the group instead of jumping in by himself as two enemies of his level could prove to be more than he could handle. Hand on his sword, Captain Onigami Sora's sky blue energy started to leak out, surrounding him like a cloak as he began to get himself ready to engage the enemy.

Meanwhile, Daisuke watched as the monster fell to the ground from a single and rather beautifully executed attack by Akemi. Daisuke knew that his new "companion" was a strong one, even stronger than himself he believed but just how strong she was still remained a mystery, though the way she executed the beast served as a great way to measure her ability.
The warning was made by Akemi about the new threat that was approaching their position and soon after he could literally feel the power of the entity heading their way, marked by a large blue aura in the horizon that seemed to be getting closer and closer by the second. Wasting no time Daisuke turned to his summoned rats and patted one of them on the shoulder before moving closer to Akemi's summoned bird.

"Good work. Tell tah eldahs tah be readi if I and I need em."

Hearing the orders from Daisuke, the three giant immediately stood in attention and slammed their right paws against their chests.

"Yes, commander!"

And without warning the three were surrounded in individual puffs of smoke that quickly lifted, revealing that the three had been summoned back to their home in the middle of the Wind Country's desert. Hearing their response and the way the addressed him as Commander, made Daisuke flinch and almost reprimand them for calling him such. Honestly it was a title forced upon him, one that he didn't even know he had until months after the "honor" had been given to him. Commander of the White Army, pretty much signifying he was one of the leaders of the white rat army, which in turn controlled most of the other colored rats scattered around the continent. A useless title and position outside the rat temples, but one that made it for him to just loiter around and do nothing all day without a random soldier reporting to him out of nowhere.

Seeing the rats vanish and the energy growing closer, Daisuke jumped on the summoned avian and awaited it to take them to their goal.

Much of the flight south was spent in silence, Akemi for her part spending the first hour of it rather pensive. She was good at hiding her chakra, could even alter it to make it look different than what it naturally did allowing her to in effect disguise her chakra signature. On top of that she had also used a hengei transformation to alter her appearance, yet still somehow their quarry had managed to track her to that little village, even identifying her room at the inn within a short span of her arrival.

She had been extremely careful in covering her tracks, and watching out for anyone following her, primarily she had done so to avoid being followed by Samurai and their sensing ability that she didn’t quite understand, yet somehow despite all of her efforts, these foreign Shinobi, or whatever they called themselves, had managed without too much trouble. Try as she did, she just couldn’t figure out how and that troubled her... What was she missing... What was she not seeing...

Still, the news wasn’t all bad, they were a step closer. They now knew that those ships these foreign warriors had come on were heading towards Kayien, and on top of that she had managed to tag two of their operatives, meaning she could summon them to her at any time. Of course there was risk to this, especially with how these people seemed to be able to appear out of nowhere whenever they wanted to, but considering the information they might be able to glean from interrogating one of them, the risks would be worth it, they’d just have to take extra precautions.

”Daisuke” She voiced finally breaking the silence ”Are you any good at interrogations?”

...

20 minutes later, Akemi had instructed Zandra to land in a rather densely wooded area where she had spotted what looked like an abandoned shack with her doujutsu. The area was secluded enough that they could expect to go uninterrupted for the next few hours, and a quick scan with her Byakugan again confirmed that no persons were anywhere near.

She then spent the next 15 minutes laying seals around the premise which would serve to erect a barrier around the shack. Though the barrier could manage to hold off weaker opponents for a short time, its primary purpose was to hide their presence from external detection, a form of camouflage, and though she had no way of knowing if it would work against whatever method these foreigners were using to track her, it was worth a try.

She then summoned two Takabunshin who immediately shot off into the woods to secure the perimeter and keep watch. Allowing Daisuke to finish up on his end, she met up with him at the shack’s entrance with a little nod.

”I’m getting tired of these guys popping up unexpected all the time and feeling like we’re constantly a step behind. Time to find out a bit about them, where they come from, what they’re doing here... Hopefully...”

If things turned wrong though, they might have to clear out in a hurry... ”Here, take this and keep it with you.”” She said pulling out a particular looking feather from her tool pouch and holding it out for him.

” Are you ready?”
