The Togeika

History//Legend of the Clan:

陶芸家
The Togeika, or Potter clan.

This tribe of people have been known over centuries of history as a clan fiercely dedicated to self preservation, as well as preservation of their reputation in being a shrewd but peace oriented people. Just as well, they are known for their natural ability to use the clay element, not only in battle but in their daily lives. Few of the clan are completely devoted to war, where as most of the population still adhere to the old ways of merchant enterprises and making of antiquities.

For the most part, the Togeika have kept their distance from battle. This allowed them to grow exponentially in times of peace. There then came a day when the elders of the clan decided it was time to spread their clan about the shinobi world in order to increase the range of their enterprise and reap even more benefits as a whole. The first split of the clan happened just before the Great War of old. The split was between one family going east, and the other going west (for they were founded in the Fire Country, of former Hidden Leaf). They were unafraid of the war that broke, at first. They had naively assumed that avoiding battle would guarantee less casualties. The most unfortunate news then came to the eastern branch that made to settle in the Lightning country. Both the western branch and the home branch had nearly been wiped out completely. Only a single family from both branches survived the Great War of old, forcing the eastern branch to return to the Fire Country and aid in rebuilding the merchant empire from the ground up.

The years of relative peace had brought the Togeika back to where they wanted to be. Once again, when they had enough numbers to spread, they split going east and west. Turmoil seemed like a thing of the past, yet it was not an eternity before war turned its merciless gaze of calamity upon the Togeika yet again. War broke out in the Wind Country. War broke out in the Lightning Country, and the Water Country. War even broke out in the Fire Country. War was everywhere the Togeika were, and there seemed to be little chance of escape. Quick thinking by the elders produced the last minute plan for the home branch to flee their native land and take refuge in the Frost Country. The other branches fled to where they could, becoming like exiles of their respected countries. The devastation of war in each branch country brought about death to many of the Togeika like the Great War more than a generation before.

The home branch managed to make it to sanctuary in Hidden Snow. The rest of the branches were routed, and the survivors spread throughout the nations, too few to immediately recuperate and establish themselves as functional branches of their clan. The world seemed consistently to be against the Togeika. Those of the new home branch in Hidden Snow are still getting used to their new surroundings. Those who are scattered around the world are mostly devoid of hope in reestablishing the clan all together. Some have even abandoned their clan family name as a sign of them stepping away from their accursed past, and a step towards a brighter future on their own.

The Togeika are in a process of rebirth, as a second age of rebuilding is upon them.

Since Youtube has so deemed it to be a travesty to host this video on it's site. I give you this link to enjoy this beautiful piece of artwork.
