A samurai might call their most faithful mirror their sword. Not in a sense of the blade being able to provide a reflection, yet more of the use of the blade in expressing the Way one follows.

A ninja could care less about mirrors or artful metaphor. By all accounts an artful shinobi is not meant to have a noticeable appearance, nor would a comparison between fighting styles give any comfort to one.

Mankou was of neither persuasion as he entered into the governor's courtyard armed with Breath and Tear. Tear was the monstrous two handed sword that he had managed to obtain from the late Katsuyori Takeda in the depths of a forbidden dungeon. Breath was a new addition made by Mankou himself under the careful tutelage of Musashi. Nothing quite special about it except the guidance of a man who does not know time, yet knows the Way of sword making spanning over generations.

"You are that man of legend you keep referring to, aren't you?"

Mankou asked his sensei one morning before sparring began.

"Do you not find it too strange to believe?"

Musashi had replied.

It had been a month now since Mankou knew for certain that his sensei had somehow refused to age a day ever since the first Great shinobi war. It was hard for him not to reflect on that moment. So much else could have passed through his mind from the continued difficulties with Mari chan, the stagnant relationship with Higanashi, Moe sensei breathing down his neck, to this band of wanderers looking to cause an upstart to help make Raikou free for shinobi once more. The crew led by Sekisei seemed more than rough around the edges. What a vicious, metal jutsu wielding, A ranked mercenary would do after earning shinobi freedom for the Kumo shinobi was for anyone to guess. The other three of them would go where ever he went, for sure.

Interestingly enough, the current moment was not all too phasing at first. The reason Mankou was entering the governor's court yard this time was because he was answering a challenge against Musashi by the sensei of a prominent dojo in the western provinces. While it was all but a simple duel, the complication was in how Onigami were invited as guests. Among them was none other than Chi, the bow slinging son of a less known official, and the one who knew the true face of Mankou and the others in his shinobi entourage. It was hard for Mankou to keep face when his eyes met with Chi's glare. He expected the spoiled son of a samurai to rat him out at once, yet for some reason Chi kept quiet. All were seated, and the governor was announced in. The ceremonies began unhindered, and Mankou was soon face to face with whom he assumed was his opponent. A hooded figure with two full length swords at his waist approached him closely before giving a bow.

"Well met." said Mankou in all honor due to the ceremony, returning the bow. Based on not being able to see the face or body beneath, Mankou tried to guess at what type of voice would respond. Whether the voice would be a gruff, sandy voice of long experience, or the bold, airy voice of prime youth. The response came in a simple "well met" as well, proving to be the latter type of voice if any. That, and it was a voice of undoubtable femininity.

"Are there a lot of samurai who duel in a baggy cloak?" Mankou asked the girl as he gripped the hilts of his swords.

"How else are women less known to be duelists?" the girl answered, not making a single motion with her arms.

A gong was sounded to start the match. Mankou drew Breath by itself, making a dash. Instead of answering the dash, the woman leapt up into a back flip to avoid Mankou altogether. Gracefully she moved to and fro on beam to beam of the spectator stands before she lightly landed in front of the governor. Mankou long gave up on pursuing the battle after his opponent fled the arena for what ever reason. It was much more apparent when the woman had drawn both swords, swatting several projectiles out of the air as they were headed toward the governor. Upon closer inspection, the projectiles were seen to be lethal looking turnips now sticking into the surrounding wood three inches deep.

"For Hidden Cloud!!" came a battle cry from high on the battlements. The outer wall guards were already put down silently. The Onigami drew their weapons each, as well as the castle guard. The woman duelist wound up beside Mankou.

"Truce for now? A student of Musashi should be able to pull his weight in a ninja ambush." she said as Mankou's comrades, one by one began to appear. Apparently Sekisei had planned to use the ceremony as a chance to launch an all out ambush on the governor's castle. They didn't bring it up with Musashi, nor Mankou himself. For the sake of keeping his cover, Mankou had little choice in what to do in this matter.

"Truce," said Mankou drawing out Tear. The woman was close enough that he caught a glimpse of her eyes glistening in the reflection on his blade. "My name is Jigan. What do I call you?"

"Her name is Kotani Onigami. My sister." stated Chi as he also came along side the two with some of his men. Mankou anticipated an arrest to start. Instead, Chi barked out orders for them both. "Get the governor to safety. Clear the way to the outer gate! Get a move on!"

Chi gave a shove to Kotani, who looked to Mankou before giving her brother a bow and carrying on toward the gate. Mankou followed, knowing the day could have taken a much better turn as long as it did not require him to fight against his shinobi brethren.

In the halls of the estate surrounding the courtyard moved a woman of no outstanding notice. Wooden gets clicked on wooden floors. Her kimono was black, with white under trimmings, the standard attire for any one of the several dozen maids that worked the large mansion. Her hair was just as black as that of the robe around her. The one outstanding feature was that unlike the other members of the help staff, all of which wore their hair back in tight buns, only a portion of the woman's hair was pulled back. On her one side enough of it had been left stylishly out so that the long bangs covered nearly half of her face and all of her one eye.

She carried a porcelain pitcher filled with water, one had on the base as the other cupped the front. Without incident, she moved as nothing but a background shadow passed several well-dressed or armored attendants as they made their way to the courtyard to partake in the festivities set out happen. However, with purpose, the woman moved against the flow, returning into the estate as she touted her charge.

All was going smoothly, that was, until she turned the next corner. Nearly running into a man, who had been leaning with one hand against the wall, in her start the woman dropped the pitcher only to have it caught by the quick reflexes of the casually dressed samurai in front of her.

"Woa, woa, woa, little lady, better be more careful with something like that." The man, as smooth in his talk as was his slicked back hair, said as he pushed himself off the wall the slide the caught pitcher onto an adjacent side table typical down the paper-doored halls. "Now what's a pretty thing like you working in a place like this?"

"Please, sir, the duel is starting." The woman, Asuka, acting shy said in a timid tone as she lowered her face more trying to encourage her misfortunate company to vacate in a rush to catch the ceremonious battle.

"Now why would I want to see something like that when I can feast my eyes on a prett---" The man froze in both speech and motion, just before which he had been lifting Asuka's chin back and moving a few of his fingers to swipe the hair away from the maid's face and back behind her ear. However, the strains of raven-black hair never made it that far before the look of disgust crossed the smooth talking samurai's face, his attraction gone from the sight of the single dead eye the bangs had been hiding.

Timidness gone in an instant, there wasn't further time for the stunned man to react before Asuka's palm struck once on his temple before she ended up having to catch his body that went completely limp. Not dead, but sleeping, Asuka lowered the unconscious man's body down, bumping into the side table as she leaned in him against the wall. Dead eye still showing from the mussed up hair, she looked down with a hint of fury at the easily dispatched Casanova. "Sweet dreams, @$$hole!" She cursed just as the commotion had started outside.

She would have paid no mind to the festivities, gone on her disguised way as she had been, except her attention was caught by the motion of three armed guards running with hast down the hallways she had just turned out of. Heart still pounding, though quickly settling as soon as the guards moved passed her, she peered down the way. Immediately recognizing that something was up, her hand was brought into a concentration sight that was brought up just under her dead eye. Shingan [Mind's Eye]. There perception confirmed only that was what taking place was not what would have been expected from a duel. There was too much chakra beginning to churn for it to be a battle between samurai.

With a sigh it was clear that she was no fan of how much this complicated things. "Well, no point in subtly now." She said to herself as the sleeve of her kimono got wet from her reaching her hand into the pitcher she had been carrying. Out of the water the woman drew a small orb before kicking the wooden sandals off of her feet and continuing down the hallway she had turned into at a much faster pace.

"What's it like, being a legend? An answer to so called prophecy? Looking at how lonely and unfulfilled you act, I feel I can relate." Mankou had said while training that day.

"I will tell you the story, then. Of the one whom the Sword Priests said would some day return order to The Way. But first, your samurai training begins."" said Musashi...

Another round of daikon kunai flew through the air in their direction. Mankou and Kotani both raised their swords, protecting the governor. Each of the darts were sliced and deflected, until the third wave exploded before impact. The force sent both samurai to the side, yet Chi stepped forward with an arrow on his bow.

"The exploding daikon should do it, boss!" said Ayumu. Just after saying so, an singing arrow was stopped short of entering the young shinobi's throat.

"Great. Now get the hell out of here, kid. Before you hurt yourself." said Sekisei, making a hand seal to complete the seal on the kunai he held. Another set of hand seals produced several more kunai formed by metal chakra. Another arrow cut through the air only to be tossed aside by one of the kunai.

"Too much for you, two?" said Chi. He shot off several more arrows even as the dust was still clearing. A flood of kunai was the reply, some finding a mark on the three samurai. The kunai that sunk into Mankou's arm gave a little flash, and a voice rung out in his head through the fuinjustu cast on it.

"You're gonna have to step up if you want to keep your cover... And your head."

Sekisei finished several hand seals, then unleashed a cloud of kunai toward the governor. Chi dropped the bow and took out both of his Konbuki swords. He then braced himself as the kunai fell. Mankou stepped in front of him.

"One sword does you no good." Musashi had said after knocking Breath out of Mankou's hand.

Mankou drew Tear, figuring it was a lesson to use both swords after the other had been cast away. Before he could ready a slash, Tear also hit the ground. Mankou looked to his sensei. Musashi pointed to the swords with the stick he was using.

A strong thwack of the stick came against Mankou's hand as he tried to pick up tear.

"Pick the other one up with that hand." said Musashi.

With his right hand, Mankou held Breath.

"That arm is the dominant. Strong, focused, dexterous. This is your slicing arm."

With his left, Mankou unbuckled and swung Tear round.

"Your left, while not dominant, is just as strong. Fast, and deliberate. This is your slashing arm."

With skilled precision, Breath rang against kunai after kunai. Tear, as well, tore through the air scattering dozens of kunai with each swing.

Kotani and Chi were motionless, yet every kunai was deflected by the lone swordsman. Mankou turned his head toward them.
"I've got this guy." he said as Sekisei closed in. Mankou met the swords that formed in Sekisei's hands with his own. Chi gave a casual nod and made to direct the governor. His sister seemed conflicted and Kotani refused to so easily abandon her rival duelist.

"Let the man do his work, Kotani. While we do ours." said Chi, tapping his sister's blade with his own.

With resistance, she obeyed her brother. Kotani momentarily turned back toward Mankou as he dueled with the shinobi instead of her.
"Jigan..." she muttered into the wind...

--------

Kin's red hair fluttered fiercely as fast as her body flew through the air, over the wall, and through the open door on the side of one of the buildings within the governor's compound. The flight chakra around her body filled the area with a slight twinge of heat. A breeze cooled it down again as Kin's flame colored sandals rested on the wooden floor. The style of the house was so traditional. It was very unappealing to Kin, and she felt as though she could defecate all over the silly paper walls without a second thought.

Beneath Kin's red tinted glasses, her blue eyes scanned around for anything the boss, Sekisei would consider good intel. Her attention was easily drawn to the nearby sounds of struggle, then a girl shouting.
"Is that you, Reiko?" said Kin, bolting out of the room and into the hallway. She ran right into someone who was definitely not her team mate. Kin released a blast of flight chakra so not to plow right into the girl. Her sharp blue eyes, looking purple from the red of Kin's glasses, caught sight of the concentration seal Asuka was making. She was no samurai, Kin deduced. But, could she be...?
"You aren't that damn traitor we've been looking for all this time, are you?" said Kin, lifting up her fists, readying her Taijutsu...

-------

Within the shade of a tree just outside the wall, a lone woman ninja sat, observing what was happening at a comfortable distance. She was ready to give her report, yet was unprepared for what was happening this moment. There was no way she could reach her superior at this rate.

Not without being found out.

At least, Ai was sure of it.

At length, Ai decided to chance it anyway. At this point, how could things get any worse?

As the medium weight kunoichi lowered down to the ground, going along the wall, she suddenly stopped dead. A sharp metal edge held to her throat reminded Ai quickly just how bad the situation could get.

"My name is Reiko Sukkaku. What do I call you, besides Traitor?" whispered the other ninja.

Asuka held the slippery orb close to her already dampened Kimono. The rushed woman made it down the hallway without incident. Though she hated the decorum, a thief such as her couldn't ask for much better physical conditions even if the chaos unfolding in the environment could stand to complicate her mission. However, there were few easier doors to crack than the paper ones at the entrance of each of the traditional style rooms. With a simple slide the governors bedroom door opened and shut for her as she slipped into the more private space.

As it turned out, however, the personal bed chamber was more crowded than the hallways she had just come out of as no sooner had she entered the room than did a half-clothed concubine sit her sleepy self up on the silken bedding. Before the geisha-girl could question who Asuka was the blunt thief ordered, "Get out!" Just as the woman, who had one hand holding up a cover to keep her unclothed body concealed, was about to protest Asuka changed her mind. "On second thought, catch!" Without warning Asuka threw the orb she was carrying into the woman's lap.

The concubine used her other hand to scoop up the strange object but before anything could be questioned Asuka had already used her liberated hands to form a single, unusual sign. "Sleep!" Without objection the unclad woman unwillfully fell back and returned to a deep slumber imposed on her by the mental manipulation from the Yamanaka woman. Putting a knee on the bed and partially crawling over her sleeping victim, Asuka looked at the helpless woman as she spoke to her softly. "At this point I'd be taking your body if my mission was to kill your confidante. Luckily for the governor, that's not why I'm here."

Asuka quickly swiped back up the orb that had rolled down the mattress some after the geisha-girl passed out. Pushing herself off the bed, a puff of white smoke surrounded the woman as she moved towards a different paper wall than the one she had entered from. On the other end of her transformation technique being channeled stood the devilish woman now clad in her typical battle attire. Pulling her small tanto out from the back of her belt Asuka gave to quick slashes against the thinly framed paper. The cuts formed a "X" shape just before the Katon chakra released through the blade caused the parchment partition to burn away. The controlled blaze created a circular gap in the wall that had only been there to disguise the location the vault that had been built behind it.

Asuka positioned the orb she had smuggled in near to the massive locking mechanism, fixing it so that the orb rested between two of the arrayed arms. With the tip of the heated blade still in her hand, she lightly tapped the glassy surface of the orb before quickly jumping back. As soon as the heat was applied the orb exploded into an oozy mess of acid that was strong enough to eat straight through the mechanical lock. Returning her blade behind her Asuka's hands formed a concentration sign to give life to her Ryūerimaki [Dragon Neck Scarf]. The two long tails on the scarf animated themselves into the heads of fabric dragons that reached out like lengthy arms and pried open the compromised vault door.

Inside there were several treasures. The governor had done well to collect precious things from all around the Land of Lightning and beyond. For a thief such as Asuka it was a virtual payday of items that could be snatched. However, she was getting an even bigger payday for retrieving just a single trinket, the glimmer from which reflected in her one exposed eye.

As Asuka emerged out of the governor's room she had with her now a sack torn off the silken bedsheets. The large lump in the makeshift bag was not too heavy for her as she tied the two ends of the bundle together so that they would hold themselves up by a strap that ran diagonally across her torso. All she had to do now as make it out, and she had just the technique for that.

Slapping hand-signs quickly together, Asuka's body started to surge with small arcs of lightning. Raiton: Oonami no Jutsu [Lightning Release: Surge Technique]. The pulse of energy amplified her speed allowing her to make haste down the planked floors of the compound. She was on her way until someone unexpected emerged from one of the adjacent rooms. Asuka reigned herself to a halt before they could collide. The heat from the stranger's levitational avoidance did not go unnoticed by the raven-haired Yamanaka.

A smirk crossed the devilish woman's face as she was accused of treason. "That's a rude accusation and completely false as you've got to be loyal to something before you can betray it!" Asuka wasn't even finished with her statement before she was attacking the newcomer. From behind her she pulled out a long, triangular sword that immediately started absorbing some of the lightning still coursing through her body. The pointed tip of the blade was aimed straight at the stranger's abdomen, the singeing burns from the sparks posing a threat to the internal organs by the penetrating blade. Asuka wasn't going to fake pleasantries or ask questions. At this point, everyone was a target because anyone could stand in her way.

The two kunoichi, Ai and Reiko stood uncomfortably silent. Ai was at the mercy of Reiko's blade, and Reiko did not feel like giving Ai an inch to escape by. Without anything to bond Ai's hands together, nor room enough for Ai to reach her sword they were in a one sided stalemate. As luck would have it, Ayumu came by in a flash, looking for something to do besides getting the hell out, or hurting himself.
"Whatchu got there, Reiko?" said Ayumu, not quite knowing how to take in this scene. Seeing Reiko with her hands tight on another girl had, after all been an odd fantasy Ayumu had once. It seemed a strange time for such to actually happen, just out of the blue.
"This is exactly who we came here for." said Reiko.
"Uh huh." said Ayumu, not quite registering exactly what she was even talking about being distracted as he was. After Reiko stared at him, Ayumu finally came to from his imagination. "Oh, right. I should just go get the boss, huh?"
"Just take her swords, and we'll bring her back." suggested Reiko. Ai resisted.
"Sorry, but you're not in the best position to keep these right now." said Ayumu. Reiko had even pushed the blade against Ai's neck, and still did not convince her to give up her swords.
"The sword is a warrior's soul. A true warrior does not give up their soul until death." Ai said defiantly.
"Well, that's a weird way to say that. Why not just say "You can pry them out of my cold dead fingers"?" said Ayumu.
"You sound just like a samurai" said Reiko, holding Ai even tighter.
"You have no idea." Ai responded cryptically.
"I'm pretty sure we'll have it good enough when Sekisei is through with you. Koshi sensei would want a piece of you, too, for all the shinobi you sold out." Reiko admonished as Ayumu wrestled the swords from Ai's belt.

--------

"Are we finished with all this now?" Mankou said, colliding swords against Sekisei's.
"When we've got our mark, I'll let you know." replied Sekisei, pushing off into a flip, then dashing about, slashing through every guard that marched into the arena. One guard then suddenly launched a very surprising bolt of lightning jutsu. "-the hell? Sekisei remarked before having to launch himself backward to doge yet another bolt of lightning.
"Our masters are rivals, Jigan! Yet we will fight the enemy together this day!" said Kotani as she had returned to the battle field. Mankou was at a loss at who he was supposed to fight, or pretend fight. A samurai duel had suddenly turned into a ninja battle on both sides.
Kotani continued to swing her swords shooting lightning from them with every swipe. The awkwardness seemed to be saved by several exploding daikon in the air on the other side of the wall. Sekisei figured it was Ayumu getting his attention as ordered to when their target was found. He then made a hand seal and a cloud of dust shot out along with kunai flying in almost every angle. Only a few of them hit and injured the many guards. After the dust cleared, Sekisei was gone. After all had stopped gazing at the hole in the ground where Sekisei escaped through, Mankou looked at Kotani.
"I am shinobi born." Kotani said in reply to Mankou's silence. He still did not quite know how to respond as a typical samurai should in this instance. There was one question that pressed on his mind.
"How are you able to use jutsu with your sword like a Konboki?" said Mankou.
"There is a shinobi that my family has forced in our service. She has taught me very well." said Kotani.

--------

Kin, as Sekisei puts it on several occasions, is a hot headed son of bastard to being with. Asuka's choice of words and threat of violence only confirmed in Kin's mind that Asuka was indeed the traitor that many shinobi including Sekisei's mercenary team had been on the lookout for. The on going struggle between shinobi and samurai had gotten so complicated with rival general looking to shinobi to bring an end to the strife. Then, there were confirming reports on multiple accounts of shinobi looking to desperate Onigami nobles to help hunt down other shinobi offering their lives in service for penance of being who they are. As maddening as it was, it was even confirmed that several shinobi were turning against their own, led by one in particular. Sekisei's team had once been mistaken by team Koshi for the very team personally led by this leader. So many other shinobi had little time to ponder the surmounting hypocrisy, and could only respond as quickly as possible to save the rest of shinobi kind.

Kin let out grunt and a blast of flight chakra to push her backward and out of the path of the lightning charged sword. She spun as she did so, letting out concentrated blasts of heat to regain her balance. The smirk on Asuka's face made Kin sick. But the singe marks the blasts of flight chakra left made a similar expression ignite on Kin's face.
"There's one awesome thing about traditional architecture." she said before a surge of flight chakra sent her upward. Then Kin let loose a furious Thermal Jet Bomb Kick. Flight chakra focused around her foot until flames burst from it upon impact with the support beam just above their heads. Flight chakra focused from her arms also propelled Kin further upward simultaneously bringing the house down and setting it ablaze. "It makes for some damn good kindling." Kin futher remarked, more to herself than anyone else as she hovered over the mess she made. The flames spread fast along the wooden beams and paper walls of the hallway, and would continue to spread through the rest of the castle. Smoke would be a concern as well, with little room for it to escape the hallway aside from upward.

Asuka jumped back as the wave of hot air rolled through. She didn't land further back on the floor, but instead bolted up to near to top of one of the other wooden pillars in the hall. That same cold smirk was still across her face as she crouched vertically on the perch, chakra holding her at the three points of her feet and hand. "Now there's an idea." Asuka's sword-bearing hand plunged its weapon into the top of the pillar. "I'm under no contract to keep this place intact!" The vibrating blade stabbed into the solid wood with no resistance and once inside Asuka released the pent up lightning in an explosive blast the splintered the support structure to send part of the ceiling caving in.

The fire that was quickly engulfing the lower level was not mixed with collapsing debris as Asuka acrobatically dodged the down pour to make it up to the second level. Her sword returned behind her, the Yamanaka paced through simple signs before her hands caught ablaze. Katon: Haretsuhi no Jutsu [Fire Release: Ruptured Blaze Technique] As quickly as the masses of flames formed they were dispersed in explosive orbs that shattered on impact to spread the raging fire to the upper level.

Asuka stayed in motion the whole time, and as she leapt back across the smoldering opening her hands were already coursing through a different set of signs, a fist racing up to her mouth as she targeted her next technique towards her pyromaniac opponent. "Katon: Gokukyu no Jutsu" [Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique] The large blast of fire was sent hurtling towards her opponent. It didn't matter that Asuka was up against a woman that also possessed Katon natured chakra. It didn't even matter that the other component of the woman's flight nature that her Shingan was able to perceive was Fuuton, which could only fan the flames higher. At this point the hellbent woman didn't need her technique to land as the fireball would just add to the already impressive cinder.

She'd burn the governors mansion to the ground and in the chaos and confusion that results, Asuka would vanish like the phantom she was.

A near distant rumble emerged from just beyond the walls.
"KOTANI SAMAAAAA!!!" came a cry. It was Chi. Blood coated his drawn sword and clothing. Kotani sheathed her weapons and came to her brother's side.
"Brother! What has happened!?" Kotani said.
"The Governor... he has made the other shinobi born into some sort of fierce, barbaric animals that can barely be stopped now." said Chi, a forlorn gaze upon his dearest sister.
"Oh, brother... What became of the Governor?" then asked Kotani.
"I slew him on the spot for what he did. If he had done that to you, I..." Chi began to say before tears brimmed on his eyes. Kotani embraced her dearest brother, then looked to Mankou. "Would you believe that he is shinobi born, as well?" added Chi.
Mankou momentarily sheathed Breath.
"Chi-san. I know we have some blows to give the other. But, let's make amends, or whatever. How about we help heal this place. Let's spit in the face of death and destruction. Let's help rebuild what's been given a bum deal by all the hate." said Mankou.
Chi grunted, breaking from his sister and coming within close proximity of his supposed arch nemesis.
"Curse you and the sword priest. It sounded so much better in the vision. Perhaps it would have still sounded too good to be true if it were the same here and now." said Chi, before accepting the hand lifted toward him in agreement. The two hands clasped tightly. Then a feral cry was heard in approach. Mankou gave a swipe of the two handed sword held in his slashing arm. From the blade there came the tears of the ancients that cast away many of the oncoming onslaught, a massive form of water drowned a good portion of them. Chi removed his hand and took hold of his bow. With it he began to launch misles at every one of the oncoming enemies, which resmbled large gorilla only their hands held power of the elements that were of their respective shinobi born tribe. The fiercely stern Chi dotted the ones closest to his beloved sister first. Kotani as well began passing waves upon waves of chakra to light up the turned shinobi warriors. One of them even still wore a Hidden Cloud headband. Who he was, or what he was could have been no harder to guess. Never the less, Mankou released Breath from it's cage once more. This time, it burned and flared the late turned shinobi along with many more behind it within an instant. The battlefield was ripe with the fire of the new.

Kin herself was in awe, first of the quick work that the Uchiha born thief made of the rest of the mansion. Then Kin turned to see the fires ignited from Mankou as he proceeded to work on the gathering hordes of brainwashed, and genetically manipulated ninja born of a land in seemingly endless torment. Kin was hard pressed to begin fighting again so soon on anything, and chose to hover even higher in the air. She cautiously gazed at the field of battle that had now consumed the once proud building of such ordinary tradition. Was there a beauty that once was, yet now was only more clear after such loss at the tragic hands of flame and those whom wield it so?

Ai took a breath. As soon as Reiko's hightened senses were distracted by the noise of the turned shinobi heading their way, the accused traitor made her move. Freeing herself, Ai Miyamoto unsheathed both her swords. Using her bloodline and techniques learned from her one and only foster parent, Ai made use of sword seals. Effortlessly, clay formed to first distance Reiko from Ai. Then another vat of clay surrounded Ayumu. He was in stunned silence, and hidden in such fashion that the other turned shinobi could not see him at first glance. This gave Ai enough room and less distraction to form more sword seals to send clay shards to land in the large group of the turned.

Without even needing the Uchiha Eyes to contradict the methods of eight swords being wielded by man daring to make himself like the legend of Killer Bee-san...

Higanashi himself road in on horseback to plunge a massive spear through the skull of a man not at all like a savior to his native land. A man torn by his own hatred had attempted to rise in honor before of who Killer Bee was... Only to fail, and be warped by the Samurai also turned from the ways of the ancients.

Mankou encountered yet another of this type. They tried to wield a massive sword that was given healing properties upon the blood it stole from others. With one burning swipe, Mankou proved how little this remake held up to the legend of Zabuza. The blood spilt on what was left of the blade would later on dry and turn to dust. Breath was what did this. The tears of the ancients then stifled the flailing animal cries of the beast in front of Mankou replacing what could have bared better resemblance to a self proclaimed demon... that still found a way to save his soul even from himself.

Musashi himself dashed to and fro, slaying all kinds of the animals once resembling that of true blooded men. The bashist ways of the usurpers on both sides were now to be ended. And Musashi was able to see the prophecy upon himself be carried out through Mankou. The eternal weight of immortality still weighed heavy on a man titled Miyamoto. He was overjoyed to see his daughter in law now as well turning the tides in favor of restoring a land to peace and prosperity once more... and never for the last time.
