Hiding within the thick leaver of a tree about twenty meters from the village Yuzuki continued to watch as the tribesmen continued with their business. Some of them cooked in large pots, others were fashioning crude weapons on a fire. Occasionally she would see someone disappear into the large tent in the center of town with a barrel and leave empty handed. That tend was obviously the center to whatever they had been doing. It was also the same place they had brought the body earlier. She had to find a way to get in and once the sun went down she was sure that she would get her chance.

Before Yuzuki had a chance to wait for nightfall she witness to an interesting clue that sparked a horrible line of events in her mind. Out of the center tent walked a small man followed by a table which was commonly used for surgery. On the table was a pile of flesh that had been neatly arranged in the same fashion fishermen stack their catch on the way home from a big haul. Yuzuki was horrified, she was too far away to see if it was the flesh belonging to the corpse which had been brought into the tent earlier that morning but regardless the idea of keeping flesh like that was just repulsive.

The next person to leave the tent was an average sized man dress in all black. On him he clearly carried a variety of scrolls and weapons used for combat. He held himself very well had a somewhat evil aura around him as he spoke to the smaller man whom was simply dressed in a blood stained lab coat. The combatant finished his brief conversation and began heading towards the woods exiting the village with a since of purpose. Perhaps if Yuzuki could capture that man she could get some valuable information out of him before attempting her infiltration later on in the night.

Yuzuki leaned forward onto the ball of her leading foot and waited for the man to get a good lead before following after him. This man had tools that gave him away as a ninja which made him much more difficult to follow. She allowed him just enough space to keep her soft footsteps from echoing through the trees and into his ears. Luckily he traveled only a short distance away before stopping at the edge of one of the tar pits and kneeling down. Yuzuki could not see what he was doing from her position and her plan was to interrogate the man so she made the decision she had to get closer and find a way to subdue the man as quietly as possible. She had only followed him a few hundred meters outside of the town and if he screamed they might hear him and come to his aid.

As Yuzuki approached she noticed the man dipping a black ladel into the tar pit and scooping some of the disgusting liquid into a barrel he had brought with him. Putting two and two together Yuzuki only lifted more questions as to what dead bodies, black skeletons and tar had in common. Yuzuki positioned herself directly above the man and produced her ninja wire from her tools pouch. Wrapping the wire around the tree a few times she tided a loose not and gently dropped a noose around the unsuspecting man's neck.

The moment his eyes got a glimpse of the wire Yuzuki dropped from her position with the wire held tightly in one hand. The tension of the wire snapped as Yuzuki's weight pulled the wire tight against the neck of the man, allowing him a small chirp of what would have been a noise. The wire lifted the man to his toes and closed his throat making it impossible for him to breath. Yuzuki wrapped the wire around the man's wrists as he struggled to try and rip the wire off of his throat and return his ability to breath. Yuzuki did not usually employ this sort of tactic but she needed to figure out what the man was doing to help her understand what this village was doing.

Reaching her hands into the mans pockets Yuzuki pulled out several scrolls as he slowly turned a light shade of blue. Yuzuki set the scrolls on the ground and looked up at the man. He would be dead soon and she was not going to allow him the chance to scream, yell, or fight back. She would love to question him like a proper interrogation but she truly did not want to take the chance of alerting the nearby town. She would have to settle with sorting through his possessions before the rest of the group realized he was missing.

Running her thumb along the seal of one of the man's scrolls Yuzuki lifted a finger and ran it along the throat of the man now limp in front of her. The scrolls were a summon and it looked at if they were strait forward with their use. Using a small amount of blood from around the wires that were cutting into the man's throat Yuzuki wiped the blood along the scroll and used her own chakra to activate it.

As usually the scroll produced a large puff of smoke, but uncharacteristic it was not a weapon that this scroll hid but a corpse. Yuzuki wrenched backward. It looked similar to the ones that attacked her the night before. This was not O.K. This was right out disgusting. Yuzuki waited for a few seconds to ensure it did not move on its own before running the point of one of her kunai down one of the seals along the corpse.

Letting the seal fall to the ground the flesh of the corpse simply fell off revealing a black skeletal ribcage and several black joints that had been fashioned out of wood and secured with tar.

“Puppets.” Yuzuki thought to herself, “What a horrible way to make puppets.”

While nothing really made much since it was all started to come together. They soaked the bones in the tar and reattached the flesh to make puppets. They must have some reason behind this gruesome ritual that was lost on Yuzuki fairly unscientific mind but that made these people directly responsible for the bones which she was tasked to remove. It seemed that she would need to get rid of this weird cult as quickly as possible if she was going to complete the mission the Kage had given her.

Releasing the body of the ninja from the wire Yuzuki took a second to study it before tossing it gently into the tar pit to dispose of the evidence. Forming a few seals she disguised herself to fit the man's description and brushed her new form off. She hated disguising herself as a man but she had a good idea as to how to get into the village with relative ease. The man had come to tar pit to collect a barrel for of tar so it should be her ticket into the tent.

Picking up the half full barrel Yuzuki took her new form towards the direction of the village. Making her way back along the same path she had taken to follow the man. Once back at the village she walked towards the center tent with the barrel of muck in her arms. Her new disguise got a few looks but nothing more then a guard she passed by in order to make it to the center of the village. This really was one of the most useful techniques in the ninja arsenal.

As Yuzuki passed into the center of town here eyes gazed over the table containing the flesh which was carved from the skeleton of one of the previous inhabitants of these woods. No doubt he was soon going to become another puppet used to kill people in the surrounding areas. Yuzuki lifted her free hand forward and pulled back the flap on the main tent allowing her to see inside. Slowly stepping inside the tent looked more like a laboratory then a living quarters, this was almost expected from what she had seen so far. At a surgery table on the far side of the tent the short man in a lab coat she had seen earlier was fixing several lumps of flesh to a black skeletal framework. In the center of the tent was another man, this one dressed in a similar fashion to the man Yuzuki had killed, even down to the same weapons. He must be another puppet user.

The shorter man in the lab coat turned to Yuzuki as she walked in the door, still disguised as the now late ninja whom he was familiar with. “Just set it over there and I will get to it when I am finished.”

The man pointed to a small table with several bones littered around in no particular organization. Following the mans instructions Yuzuki placed the barrel on the table and proceeded to walk towards an open seat next to the puppeteer in the center of the tent. Getting within arms reach she races her hand along her weapons pouch pulling a kunai and quickly running the edge along the unsuspecting ninja's throat. Dropping her disguise as the same moment the puppeteer fell limp to the floor as Yuzuki released the kunai in the direction of the doctor.

Right as the kunai came within arms reach of the doctor his arm shot around grabbing the kunai out of the air before locking his eyes onto Yuzuki with a surprisingly neutral face.

“I take it you are the one Gorou spoke of.”

Trying to hold onto any of the surprise she hoped to take advantage of Yuzuki attempted to spring forward, hoping to deliver a blow to one of the doctors vitals but even with her speed she not nearly fast enough to avoid a set of quick seals conjuring shadows which latched around her legs binding her to the floor.

Yuzuki came screeching to a halt as the doctor's jutsu wrapped around her and tightened causing her to let out a desperate grunt as she felt the air in her lungs was squeezed from her lungs. Yuzuki desperately fight against the tightening bands of shadow.

“I do apologize for giving you false hope at winning, but you did give me a fright. I was not expecting you to be able to dispatch my two young apprentices so easily. I thought I trained them better then that.” The doctor lifted Yuzuki's kunai into the air and ran the blade along Yuzuki's cheek, “Tell me my dear do you have any last words?”

Yuzuki gagged for air as the man smiled and reared the knife as he prepared to strike her throat. Seeing only one way out Yuzuki flared her Hijutsu sending a massive burst of air exploding between the two sending them both backwards towards opposing sides of the tent. Standing up the doctor quickly turned to a small gust of wind passing by his cheeks as he suddenly felt himself falling through the air. His eyes showing him suspended more then a thousand feet in the air. The feeling of falling overcoming his senses.

A few seconds later he felt the soft sting of Yuzuki's kunai as she stabbed the man through his ribcage and into his heart. His mind drifting back from the short genjutsu and his eyes coming to focus on the knife sticking out of his chest. The doctor's gaze then at Yuzuki. Her face bleeding from a large gash the doctor was able to make as he was forced backward by Yuzuki's hijutsu.

Letting the doctor slowly to the ground Yuzuki placed her left hand over her eye. Using that blood she formed the seals necessary to summon her pet, it was very useful in times such at this when she needed to make a quick retreat over a large distance. Once she got rid of the rest of the small village her mission would come to a close. Removing her remaining nine explosive seals she tied each to a kunai.and leaped onto her summon commanding it to take flight strait out of the tent she had taken so much time to enter.

The villagers immediately noticed the huge bird speeding forward from the tent but without warning the bird made a quick headway, only leaving behind a barrage of explosive seals raining down to cover the escape. Each take striking the town with a huge burst of flame Yuzuki easily made it past the somewhat lacking guards which she had taken care not to alert. Once she and Tori reached a high enough altitude Yuzuki laid back onto the bird and gripped her face. The loss of blood was already making her lightheaded. It was nothing she couldn't get fixed up but damn she was careless, allowing him to get a hit in like that almost cost her the only life she had.

Yuzuki pulled a bandage out of her traveler's kit and stuck it to her wound allowing it to soak up as much blood as it would take as she raced back to Kiri. She managed to stop the production of the skeletons and she had already tossed more then enough of the evidence in the black tar pits to make up for not spending more time looking through the swamp. Perhaps most fortunately of all Yuzuki managed to avoid a potentially deadly scuffle after slipping up and almost losing her life.
